Goblin starter area needs a makeover

I recently leveled a new goblin and those first levels til you get outta the island… Wow. Painful.

Empty, mostly, of other players, lots and lots of walking, few inns to stop and take a break… True, it’s the first character I’ve rolled since 2012, but boy was I glad when the scenario was over so I could join the rest of the world…

Now, I really doubt Blizzard is going to put any resources into that area, so perhaps the option to start in Durotar could be added? Or simply the idea of skipping the second island, 1st one is decent, for a portal after you leave to Org be an option?

Have to completly disagree with you. The worgen and goblin starting zones are by far my favorites.

Get in line… The newly created Draenei and Blood Elf characters are still stuck in The Burning Crusade.

Until they step out of their starting zones and the Cataclysm strikes while they are in the loading screen.

If you want to reunite with friends, then yeah, the starter area can be a bit long to get through.

I have always hated the rather sudden arrival to Org from the second Island, and would very much have loved it to continue somewhere else from that area.
But I doubt I’ll have much support in that thought

I find the goblin starter area to be one of the more fun in the game

What do you mean “few inns to rest”? Who rests between questing lol 1 level is 2 quests at this point. You’d hit level 20 within a day.

I mean what I say, Did you understand my point or need further explanation? You may disagree of course.

I understand that we all have different views however it feels so loooonely there.

No, don’t take this the wrong way. I just don’t understand why you would need to rest? Do you mean literally rest because you’re tired or like getting rested XP?

Ok, I mean that island no 2 is, for my money, boring as hell. Understand some people will just breeze through and get it over with in 4 hours or so, but it’s so barren and there’s so much walking involved, I just couldn’t face it in one sitting, so it took me 4/5 short stints.

The issue is that, for my take on it, there’s no place to log out and get rested exp Buff. And no FPs either if memory serves. Which makes it slower and more boring.

Thus my take on it and my hope that there were options to level outside the starter areas. Could get a lock to summon me, I guess too.

I think you have to finish the areas to be able to run dungeons etc (at least that’s what it used to be), and I personally like the starter area(s).

But yeah, if you could escape it by getting a summon then people could pick where to level and it wouldn’t feel so forced.

I really enjoy the goblin starter zone but it does seem to keep you captive for a long time.
