After reading Ion’s interview with Mr. GM on removing class restrictions for Dracthyr, I had some ideas on some of the more “challenging” races that he identified to add in as Druids. This could even all be under one side questline where we introduce these types of characters.
Basically, Gnomes and Mechagnomes use tools to help nature as Gardeners. They understand the value of nature and seek to care for it through their use of technology. The druid forms are identical except that Mechagnome forms have mechanical limbs, jaws, etc. Something a bit like Maximals from Transformers Beast Wars except with more organic bits.
Goblin druids are interested in sustainability harvesting because that means ETERNAL PROFITS. They can continue to harvest an areas resources until the end of time if they do it sustainably. These Goblins are able to focus on long term profits more than short term profits.
Another example: Gnomes and Mechagnomes come up to an area that has been irradiated and want to use a combination of Life/Nature magics WITH technology in order to purify the area. Goblins could come up to a similar area and want to pull the radiation out and use it as an energy source in addition to making it a safer and more sustainable harvesting location because again, ETERNAL PROFITS!
I don’t know what sort of forms Goblins would have as druids, but that can be for others to develop.
Also, Undead Druids should use Drust magic similar to Kul Tirans. There, ideas on some of the “more difficult” races to make as Druids.
Nightbourne, Blood elf, Dracthyr.
Vulpera doesnt match at all, they’re bottom feeders who are stuck in a desert, they’re fit for shamans for they’re fighting the elements there in that desert for real for real but if they were druids they wouldnt be in that dry situation they’re in, They lack a grove, actual leadership skills, for the real historical druids were great philosophers with intense spirituality and connection to nature.
The only thing connecting them to nature is the association of them being foxes thus that should mean they’re from nature. But thats not enough.
Goblins… idk maybe … ok but gnomes? what kind of a joke is that.
I actually am excited for the new race to be druid harronir druid would be fantastic.
Also i really want you guys to pay attention to the name of the class
its “druid” not gardener, not Peta, not conservation team researcher.
Druid is an ancient title, druids served the role of leaders, healers and philosophers, they actively were extremely spiritual, fortune tellers through sacrifices and so on.
“eternal profit through harvesting” is the most anty-druid statement imaginable.
Same goes for gnomes, gnomes are not spiritual, they’re hardly even flesh, they evolved from machines, hence why they cannot have any connection to nature to begin with (and yes i know that 1 gnome story about a gnome druid but that whole story can be erased, its bad , it ruins the fantasy, and its just out of place).
Gnome druid is the last thing i want to see.
