Hi all
I used to herb a lot back in the days and either sell raw herbs or make herbs into potions or flasks and sell those in the evenings. I even made nice amounts of gold at the beginning of BFA.
But now that the AH is changed and there are so many new changes, it seems a bit overwhelming.
Any ideas how I can casually farm some decent gold?
Is herbalism still viable?
Or should I just grind raw gold somewhere?

Multibox or buy wowtokens. Those are the only real otpions you have rn.
I think legion herbalism is still decent. You can make ink or sell raw. Get the shredder mount from mop and maybe enchant your gloves for faster herbing.
Once a week maybe clear old raids, its good gold especially if done with multiple characters.
Just multibox with quite a few characters, doesn’t matter that the herb/ore prices may be really low now because you will end up with so many of them that you will still make lot of gold.
A lot of alts to do emissary with, 2k gold sometimes.

Before I write a block of text, I would ask how much gold do you actually want?
That usually is the determiner of the method.
I love Raw Gold Farming
Example:
1 run on each of difficulties of Helfire Citidel (LFR,NORMAL,HEROIC,MYTHIC) gives you around 10k gold! If you have more 120 alts it’s super easy and you can do it with 5 alts and you got yourself 50k gold :3
If you don’t want to do boosts or play ah which are both best options right now,
Farming old raids and professions = alchemy + food.
Mathematically Isle of Thunder is a better raw gold farm, if you have a 5 man party.
The fastest way to get really good amount of raw gold is leveling and gearing a havoc dh to ~440 ilvl and solo freehold normal, in that gear you won’t hit the hourly instance cap but can run the dungeon 9-10 times easily solo for ~12-15k raw gold + some 30 slot bags for AH.
There are some things you’ll need to achieve this:
-rank 3 focusing iris essence as the mobs knock you around a lot and the essence will get interrupted instantly on moving (QoL).
-at least one furious gaze trait and at least one eyes of rage trait, imo 3/3 is the best way.
-150 zandalari/kul tiras tailoring, northern (cloth) scavenging and the tools of the trade tailoring item.
-a vendor mount, it’s QoL as there’s a vendor right at the entrance of Freehold.
The talent setup is: 2331211 for a safe run.
On how to run freehold solo most efficiently just check any youtube video from BfA where a twink dh soloes it, the pulls will be the same.
With enough gear you’ll simply hit the hourly instance cap and do the crafting (tidespray linen pants) until you can enter again. Sell the crafted pants and the loot from the dungeon to any vendor.
On my realm a 30 slot bag goes for ~500ish gold meaning I get 20k gold for 1 hour of farming, beating any 2x4 farms in g/h.
Just finished collecting tokens for both myself and my wife for shadowlands with gametimes in less than 2 months without playing the AH, very casually.
Occasionally you can do assaults for the chance on 2k gold or the emissaries once there’s one with gold reward.

Let me say it like this.
I want enough gold to alleviate my bad conscience of resubbing to WoW again. But I still want to have a bit of …“fun” in the process. I don’t mind extremely tedious methods of farming, as long as it’s relatively effective. That way I can listen to podcasts, audiobooks, etc.
My realistic goal: If i can play a few hours a week and make at least 75.000 of gold in a month, then I wouldn’t feel so bad. Not sure if it’s possible.
I use to make such fat stacks before they (IMO) ruined the AH by streamlining it completely. The real trick was undercutting, but now it’s all just… one.
It is plenty possible. I would say that first of all you should donwload TSM4 and if you are not dedicated to one realm, find one with a healthy economy. If that is done, you can either farm Draenor raid for raw gold (don’t actually do it if you can, it is the most basic method) or you can start with Silithus and Isle of Thunder if you don’t mind grouping.
If you are on a healthy server professions like Tailoring, LW, BS and Inscription are worth to level as well. I made around 600k profit with the felsteel longblade alone and I barely farmed for it.
If you play alliance I would also suggest the mines in Stonetalon mountain under the horde stronghold.
There are a smaller million of farmspots and it is very wise to diversify.
If you run all the WoD raids on all 4 difficulties (LFR can be started in your garrison) and do Emerald Nightmare + Nighthold on LFR->Heroic, that will net you about 45K a week. Do it on 2 characters, 90K, goal reached. It may take a good chunk of a couple of days, but it’s easy and reliable, if you have the patience for it.
Instance: Atal’dazar (farm until locked out)
Prof: Skinning + Leatherworking
Craft and sell to the vendor: Shimmerscale Striker fist weapon
Mobs: Small green raptors, Pterodactyles and two Triceratops
Profit: If you farm each day 30k gold you can get around 900,000 gold per month
That looks good. About 7K/hr?
So you get 700g+ from trash items, then you can be more or less lucky on greens drop and same with Bones drop for crafting the weapon. In the end you can score on average around 8k-ish each lockout. Doing 3 lockout’s per day is enough to make over 800k+ per month 
Ps. If you fast at clearing (4 min 30sec for me) so I get lockout after around 45min and I usually have at least 1k bones which is the goal

This has been my go-to, I’m a lazy guy not much into auctionhouse.
WoD raids are great; I personally run Blackrock Foundry and Hellfire Citadel on all 4 difficulties and make about 24,000 gold per character per week. Personally only do 4 characters because I cba to do more but you can get more characters and even run the other WoD raids for more.
Lets just do some quickmaths for my ratings I’m getting about 24k a week per character do it on 4 characters that comes to about 5 million gold a year for not that much effort really.
2/3 of the initial comments, go multi-box wtf?
because mutliboxers are the only ones earning gold now with the ability to earn 64x more stuff with only 8 characters AND have a spare character to AH it all and relist isntantly… that is how broken multiboxing/ah is right now.
and i have heard nothing about them fixing this in shadowlands, this alone will be the biggest loss of subs in shadowlands IMO.
