the route i just gave you which nets slightly more gold does not take more time
Is this some sort of joke?
Naxx resets were ~1500g during progress, probably 1200g when it went on farm.
Here’s a list of consumables I used - this is assuming you fully clear Naxx in 2 days (I did say “during progress”).
4 flasks during progress - 1080g, 270g/piece
1 stack of stamina food - 10g
1 stack of nightfin soup - 16g
20 elixirs of greater firepower - 180g
20 greater arcane elixirs - 180g
20 mageblood pots - 240g
20 elixirs of poison resistance - 40g
15 greater shadow prot potions for 4HM/Loatheb/Sapphiron - 165G
15 Greater Frost Protection potions for Sapphiron/KT - 120G
5 greater fire protection potions on 4HM - 20G
20 Major Mana Potions - 70G
2 bijou tokens for swiftness (Gluth) / spirit (Sapphiron) - 5G
2 Brilliant Wizard oil “stacks” - 50G
2 swiftness potions (Gluth) - 5G
10 Greater Nature Protection Potions (Gluth/Heigan/Thaddius) - 80G
20 Goblin Sapper Charges for trash and Maexxna - 80G
2 stacks of Dense Dynamite - 47G
100-200 Alterac Manna Biscuits - drink walking
Unknown amounts of Chocolate/Lunar Festival water which stacks with the other one, can’t remember the prices.
That’s 2388 gold for 2 raids, one reset (I did say it was during progress). It doesn’t include the cost of chocolates, nor does it include repairs, gathering world buffs (10g/summon, 10g for DM King buffs etc). This doesn’t include the gold you’d spend on Frost Resistance gear for Sapphiron and KT, nor the mats you’d buy to transform a token into an actual gear piece (and that was before enchanting it). If it’s legs/head, gg, add 300g for a ZG idol, because hey, let’s design a 20 people raid that drops TWO idols. Why not, sounds like a great idea to me. Oh - and good luck if you get your world buffs dispelled or if you get killed while porting from one place to another, have fun paying again (never mind the amount of time invested).
600g/week? It would’ve been AMAZING to be able to get away with just 600g. Hell, it’s dream-level.
60% of my guild was buying gold with everyone else involved in GDKP on alts just so they could sustain a main (which again involved gold buying; pretty sure the 80k paid for Gressil didn’t come from farming).
1000g/week wouldn’t cover progress raiding in Sunwell on most servers - and that’s not even counting getting an item and enchanting it.
Doing the Isle quests every day for a week would get you ~800g/week, if even that. Yeah, there are other solutions, none of which are good/pleasant. Then again, who the hell plays a game to enjoy himself? It’s supposed to be a second-third job. Just joking, not like they’ve got jobs in the first place.
You’re not “pumping” anything. At best you’re spamming a few buttons doing something you shouldn’t have to do anymore - instances past their expiration date with loot that doesn’t interest you, loot that is then sold by a gold-seller to several gold-buyers, which, in the end, means that your time is worth less and less.
Everyone’s playing the game wrong. I played it in vanilla/bc. Nobody had to have a herbalist alt, a miner-solo-DM-East alt or to do dailies (in BC) on 2+ chars just to keep up with raiding.
J. Allen Brack was 100% right.
I personally do not have gold issues. But many players in my Guild do. And as much as people play on average its not very sustainable since a ton just raid log now.
Now you are and a few others are correct. If you play every day and spend a few hrs in the game you should be fine for gold. But, sadly at this point there is not much to do in game outside of daily quests for gold. Which is quite boring. Yes you can do alts and run GDKP’s, but once again you have to make an alt, lvl, gear up etc etc, and still many GDKP runs are very messy and take a long time.
Has nothing to do w/ farming. A lot of players are just sustaining at this point while waiting for Wotlk. You are confusing 2g Mana Pots with 23 gold Haste Pots. Trust me, we (Physical dps) use as many Haste as you do Mana per raid.
So ! To sum it up: Yes, people could farm gold, do GDKP’s, do dailys and a ton of other stuff. But that would as I stated initially take a lot of actual irl time to do consistently. TBC is over, there is nothing left to do at this point but wait. Yet the consumable prices are going up and up and up.
Then why do you need to spend 1000g worth of consumables per week?
At the time I go through some posts I wonder how ppl can be that bad at the game or that stupiditly try-harding so they have to spend tonns of gold per raid/raid week for consumes and still whine about it…like, you’re not obliged to, that’s your personal choice to play the game that way?
About current prices - well yes, that what happens when you allow botting for months and years as well as gold buying and gbid/gdkp raiding. Swipers and gdkp monkeys now have hundreads of thousands of gold in their pockets and bots finally got affected by bans + toon creation lock on Firemaw. Obviously, Blizzard won’t clear the pockets of RMTers or gdkp participants, so welcome to the new reality - now we either all go farm mats to increase supply or we all stop using consumes to decrease demand shrug
It’ssound like someone is not playing the game
you know that if you have profesion you farm something here and there sell it
or you do daily quests on sunwell you will have a lot of gold
Should blizzard now delete gold from the game because you don’t want to play the game?
It sounds like someone did not read the post.
I dont. I got about 90% of my consumes super super early when the prices were quite low.
For the… 44th time, this is not directly about me. Its about how much gold stuff costs in general, and how Blizzard allowing botters, gold sellers and GDKP runs to run rampant has skyrocketed the prices and brought on heavy inflation.
also want to add its not because bots are getting banned. bots should be banned but its obvious they are still rampant on the server, go try collecting terocone for yourself and you will see each spawn is heavily contested as well as every other way of acquiring them. so bots aren’t adding / taking away terocone from the pool available and neither are they hoarding them. when all sources of the herb are heavily farmed obviously bots aren’t the issue causing the price hike, because all these herbs will be on the AH and in circulation anyway.
firemaw now regularly goes down to 2 layers, sometimes its on 3 rarely its on 4. where as before the lock it was at 4 minimum. quite simply the supply has been halved and demand hasn’t fallen. so obviously prices will go up
How is that different to Gehennes tho, which ran at only 2 layers for months and is the same where rarely it hits 3-4. On Gehennas haste pots are in just as much demand, but they cost 4-5g each. The only difference is that Gehennas is Horde only.
I will say it again, if consumables reached the level of expense that Firemaw seems to have (and Firemaw alone?) I would stop playing. Gehennas prices are similar to 2008 prices on retail servers right now.
firemaw has considerably more demand than gehennas or any other server. its supply and demand, gehennas simply doesn’t need as big a supply as firemaw because the demand isn’t there.
anyone thats on firemaw will tell you, its not easy to farm terocone right now. if terocone sells for 11/12g each and its not massively overfarmed something is wrong. the truth is terocone is still massively contested, any and every way of farming it is being farmed 24/7 the only thing thats changed is layers got removed, you remove more than half the layers and you remove more than half the supply. as you said gehennas ran at 2 layers for months, well for those months firemaw ran at a minimum of 4, i saw 8 layers at one point. obviously if you remove the supply prices will be effected
Just farm your mats bob
