Gold should not be required

Is there a reason YOUR progress is hidden?

I think you’re missing the point. No one here is asking for gold to be easy to make. We’re saying gold shouldn’t be a requirement for legendaries.

The same item that was 70k on tarren mill was over 200k on Hellscream. Some realms without large populations have really whacky prices. Even 70k is excessive, I upgraded my old Legendary from 9.0 (Signet) but if I wanted to raid I’d need 2 more legendaries (Arms/Fury), that’s not including if I wanted to play Prot.

It’s a bit excessive, nobody wants to blow tonnes of gold on an entry pass.

He hides it because he has no current Glad, doesn’t Mythic raid and doesn’t have +15 in M+ current season.

Higher bag ilvl might determine whether I get into lfg groups or not for sure.

Got enough time to actively play pvp on 3 different characters?
But no means or time to gather the materials yourself while queueing for arena / battlegrounds whatever?

Or dedicate a day (or an hour) a week to farm materials or gold?

I mean, come on. So many people lately complaining about the chores an MMO requires, and their lack of time.

Yet they still manage to play multiple characters to a certain lvl with ease and have the time to do so, how?

Spend as little as possible (many players will be fine with lower level/cheap leggos).
Loot everything and sell all trash to NPCs.
Have Gathering professions and sell mats on the AH (prices will fall over the duration of the Xpac, but there will be upticks with each patch).

The last Xpac where I struggled for gold was, TBC…if you are not buying expensive items and/or boosts, being broke should not be a thing.

MMO RPG GAMES Has some cool stuff, and some stuff that simpley is just put in ur way to waste ur time. why not focus on the fun and cool stuff more, and not only ways to make us do boring and timewasted stuff?..

The game has so many classes and specs, but instead of playing them, you want me to play ah, or do world quests all day long, so i can afford stuff to play??..

i hope u see the issue. i would dare to say also that if game had less chores and playing alts was more friendly ppl would want to try more classes and specs, and those things offers more gametime than any stupid chores ever will

WoW is not a MOBA, it’s a MMORPG…this is reflected in the game design, which includes methods of acquiring currency in game.

thats he is doing in pvp, gather conquest and honor and those pvp token thingys i dont remember the name of.

…but not gold, because WoW is not a MOBA.

you’re wasting your breath. the main consideration when designing WoW content is to make it compatible with the ENTIRE player base, including those who (based on their feedback here) don’t even like playing games.
to put it really simply: the reason most things are locked behind a dumb grind/chore is because it’s the only type of gameplay all players can accomplish

gold needs to be relevant somehow, otherwise it would be impossible to buy tokens with it. right now the f2p players are basically exchanging their “willingness” to grind god awful content so the rich kids who sell tokens can craft their legendaries

even without chores and gold, wow would not be a moba lol. wow pre match gearing and u still need to farm stuff pre content u want. wow without WQ/gold/ah, would still be far away from a moba, did u ever try a moba?. every one starts equal every match there, and u earn items in every match that u lose after the match.

Yup, that’s an MMORPG.

an outdated mmorpg, a dieing mmorpg. time to dare see the truth.

what if I told you it’s not a design requirement for gold-making gameplay to SUCK bigtime?

Other licenses are available that will satiate your desire to play a single aspect game…many of them are entirely monetised via the in-game store.

You keep using that word… I do not think it means what you think it means.

If you are PVP-only, you are not going to make any… the game was not designed to supply rivers of gold for PVP-only play, because it’s a MMORPG.

this is why nobody likes WoW players. you guys can only think within the context of things you’ve seen in WoW, and you project the game’s shortcomings onto the entire MMORPG genre even though many titles have surpassed it in some aspects.

there are games where PvP and PvE are seamlessly mixed, and even if we speak about pure PvE, there’s plenty of room to add risk, loss and difficulty to gold making so bots and hypercasuals don’t make as much gold as players who put in some effort.
but this kind of talk is blasphemy because most ppl think by paying a sub they’re entitled to the same rewards as everyone else.
