Golden Hare trinket (Speed increase not working)

I’ve levelled JC in order to make and equip the Golden Hare trinket (as part of a speed set).

The Trinket has the following tooltip:
Equip: Run Speed increased slightly
Use: 30% Increase Speed

The on-use effect works, the passive does not.

I’ve tried taking all of my gear, only equipping this and there’s still no impact.

There’s nothing on the item that suggests it can’t be used over a certain level (and I can use the “on-use” so it can’t be that).

Anyone have any idea?

It doesn’t stack with other speed increasers.

I’ve tried it with literally no other items equipped (so no speed increasers) and it does not work.

How did you check, it gives no buff? Also did you drop jewelcrafting after making it?

None of them “minor speed increase” or “Longstrider” effects give a buff but they do show up on my character info screen as a “movement speed %”.

Also, I’m not any faster when walking!

Still got JC, I know you need to keep that.

Does the “on use” part work?

Try an addon like extended character stats to see what speed you have with it equipped and without it.

Yep. I even get the little golden bunny!

I have the extended character stats, that’s how I can see it is having no impact regardless of whatever else I have equipped.

The only thing I can think of is that you have something else that increases your movement speed, some passive, without the trinket what is your movement speed? If it’s above 100% then something else is affecting your speed.

From what I read on wowhead if your movement speed is above 110% this won’t stack.

Just figured it out, it’s because I’m feral spec (regardless of form).

Every other speed increasing item (including ones with identical “minor speed increase” text) I have works as feral but not this.

How annoying!

old items are generally disabled for high level characters or their effects are watered down by anywhere up to 100% based on the level difference.

For example, the souldrinkers from dragon soul do not function for high level players (they would be pure broken if they did)
