I would say BM hunter, or any hunter spec as ranged dps, furry warrior as melee dps (or even frost dk now), holy priest as healer and probably guardian druid as tank.
Thanks, I’ll try it!
BM Hunter.
I’ll give it a go! Thanks
Try anything you think is cool.
^^ This.
If you don´t jive with a class you´ll always find it to be a chore. Just try what you think might be cool and see if you like it, all of them are equally viable.
(unless you´re a HoF raider or .1% title pusher, in which case you wouldn`t be asking us but rather writing the guides most of us get our information from )
BM got seriously nerfed. Marksman is a much better choice and has a lot of AOE damage.
I’d also suggest Brewmaster Monk. They summon little healing bubbles only they can see and if you walk into them you heal.
BM hunter is the standard recommendation, but I’m actually not sure it’s as simple anymore as people remember it. For open world stuff, sure, you can press three buttons and be done with it. But if you want to play it well in end game content, it requires tracking and significantly more buttons.
I find Frost DK or Fury Warrior easier to play decently. The former more than the latter, because Fury Warriors requires high APM. Frost DK is slow and easy to understand.
He said a starter class. As a starter, he shouldn’t really care about damage, but the to learn the basics of the game. BM meets this, as it allows you to stay in range, move at all times and be more aware of the environment.
My choice was also MM when I started to play back in legion, but I had help from friends to explain.
NoooooOoOooo… Can’t unsee, now I have to reroll…
On topic, WoW has always recommended Warriors and Hunters to beginners and that has not changed, ever. Can’t speak for hunters atm (haven’t played one since forever) but “furry” (aka FURY, ahem ahem) warrior is pretty easy to play. Press random buttons, win. Plate armor to protect you, plenty of mobility to get away, or into, trouble. Possibly Arms warrior too, but haven’t tried the spec in some time so can’t comment.
The other (surprisingly) easy spec to play and what is quickly becoming my favourite in WW, is Destruction Warlock. Immolate > Conflagrate > Chaos bolt to face (that looks like a ***ing asteroid now lol, please make it even bigger…), loot. There is more to it, of course, but the basics can be picked up by a 8 yo. Very easy to learn and has good defensive CDs, in case you get it trouble (and you will if you are new). That is if you want to play caster.
But as others have said, you must like the class yourself if you are to play it long term - whether you want a MeSmashFace-type or sneaky type or caster type, etc. At the end of the day, you have to enjoy playing it, that’s what the game is all about.
Didn’t know it got a serious nerf, thanks for telling me! Ill try marksman instead thanks!
Imma go against conventional wisdom and say paladin.
Why? Not very complicated to play, strong defensives to keep you alive when you make an error, and when you’re bored of being declined as dps, you have a choice of tank or healer without having to level a new character.
Perhaps cynical, but I have a hard time recommending a pure-dps class to a newer player because if they get to like the game and want to go deeper at endgame, they’ve heavily restricted by their mono-role character in a world where there’s not enough tanks or healers. Dps-only classes are a burden if you don’t have a good social network to play with.
Paladin
Tank, heal, damage
A lot will say BM hunter, but here me out. Druid, gives you a bit of everything and you will almost certainly find something you enjoy.
Thanks! That seems like a really good option! Its also nice to know that im not stuck playing 1 thing.
Fury Warrior, Frost DK, Ret Paladin (melee)
Frost Mage, Devastation Evoker, Destruction Warlock (wizards)
BM Hunter
Prot warrior, Guardian druid (tank)
Holy Paladin (healer)
Hunter (BM, MM)
Mage (Frost)
Warlock (Demo, Destro)
Shaman (Elemental)
Paladin (Ret)
DK (Frost)
Warrior (Fury)
These would be a good starting point for DPS specs, as for Tanks and Healers other players will be more knowledgable on those.
Also, you don’t have to 100% follow any class guides, switching up some talents to make things more comfortable for yourself might be better on a spec you may have found more difficult before.
Ye, but bm is easier still. Even though they got nerfed it is the only class i can use auto attack and go on toilet meanwhile.
Warlock doesn’t do too bad with the felguard. (Also what the heck autocorrect, you tried to change that to felonies!?)
