I was pleasantly surprised then when Blizzard announced the 1st round of nerfs to fistweaving they reacted to the communities reaction and went back to the drawing board.
Good job!
However, the 2nd round of nerfs were not great either.
I originally thought that the nerf was that you couldn’t extend them past the original duration, meaning it would be almost impossible to maintain the over powered enveloping mist on 20 people whilst mainting it on 5. (maybe)
What I would say is that players don’t want to be over powered, that is not their reasoning to suggest changes and this includes in shadowlands, no one is really looking at the numbers unless something is clearly broken, like in this case.
I believe the solution would have been to have EVM only be able to be on 5 targets at a time. This would have maintained the needed healing in the m+ environment, mostly for bosses such as [Galvazzt] in Temple.
In raid it takes almost 90% of the fight to have high stacks of REM, when you have high stacks if you start to spam vivify you will get a short burst of strong healing, but you will lose your REM.
Most rotations was to continue kicking to maintain and throw in the odd 1-2 vivify every 7-9 seconds or so. Even with 20 stacks this was not an OP amount of healing. My raid paladin friend bursts upto 700k in Maut mythic. Vifity spam on 20 targets wouldn’t achieve this.
maintaining 5-7 REMS and vivify is not a competitive play, nor us it fun.
It is really sad that the spec has been gutted and I know that there will be no more revisions on it.
Its super sad because it halts our guild. I refused to play upwelling as it is the most boring healing spec in the game and has so little synergy with any of the systems we have.
I do not have time to reroll to a shaman, palading priest etc and start with zero essences, no cloak and then rank 0 and no azurite. The rest of the gear I could get quite quickly.
This means that its probable that we will not raid as we will be one healer short and we will cancel our raid nights, meaning that the game will die until shadowlands, no subs I guess for blizzard. I think they really need to start to get their act together, understand the specs and classes and start to listen to player feedback until they know themselves…
