Goodbye Fist Weaver

I was pleasantly surprised then when Blizzard announced the 1st round of nerfs to fistweaving they reacted to the communities reaction and went back to the drawing board.

Good job!

However, the 2nd round of nerfs were not great either.

I originally thought that the nerf was that you couldn’t extend them past the original duration, meaning it would be almost impossible to maintain the over powered enveloping mist on 20 people whilst mainting it on 5. (maybe)

What I would say is that players don’t want to be over powered, that is not their reasoning to suggest changes and this includes in shadowlands, no one is really looking at the numbers unless something is clearly broken, like in this case.

I believe the solution would have been to have EVM only be able to be on 5 targets at a time. This would have maintained the needed healing in the m+ environment, mostly for bosses such as [Galvazzt] in Temple.

In raid it takes almost 90% of the fight to have high stacks of REM, when you have high stacks if you start to spam vivify you will get a short burst of strong healing, but you will lose your REM.

Most rotations was to continue kicking to maintain and throw in the odd 1-2 vivify every 7-9 seconds or so. Even with 20 stacks this was not an OP amount of healing. My raid paladin friend bursts upto 700k in Maut mythic. Vifity spam on 20 targets wouldn’t achieve this.

maintaining 5-7 REMS and vivify is not a competitive play, nor us it fun.

It is really sad that the spec has been gutted and I know that there will be no more revisions on it.

Its super sad because it halts our guild. I refused to play upwelling as it is the most boring healing spec in the game and has so little synergy with any of the systems we have.

I do not have time to reroll to a shaman, palading priest etc and start with zero essences, no cloak and then rank 0 and no azurite. The rest of the gear I could get quite quickly.

This means that its probable that we will not raid as we will be one healer short and we will cancel our raid nights, meaning that the game will die until shadowlands, no subs I guess for blizzard. I think they really need to start to get their act together, understand the specs and classes and start to listen to player feedback until they know themselves…

FWIW, fistweaving will remain viable in M+. It might not be better than Upwelling in raids (I can’t judge, I don’t raid), but in M+, it will still be king, and we won’t have to adapt too much, either.

You can get the essences pretty damn fast from mommy, your main has them.
The azerite is being nerfed to the ground, will take you probably less than a week to reach 78…

I rerolled during EP, ive learned my lesson from maining MW from mid legion till EP: Its all about priests and palas when it comes to raid-healing, maybe shamans and rduids.

Its all about Rdruids when it comes to M+

They did let during EP their beloved Hpala to dominate with an INSANE margin, they nerfed MW after 3 months…

Im on priest, pressing 1 button using absolutely no brain and the game is fine!

1 day, 5 hours played at 120 on my DH, 82 neck, 2 R3 essences, halfway through with the third, 444 ilevel, R6 cloak. Most of that solo. If you have guildies to help, getting a new char to reasonable levels is more than doable in about two weeks. Possibly even one if you push it hard. (Excluding leveling time, but with the XP buff, heirlooms and XP potion, leveling should be pretty darn fast too.)

Buddy im not talking about leveling.

I just mentioned aprox time need to max out neck traits and probably buy BiS essences from MOTHER…

OP said:

Now the cloak i dont think its fast to level up but still its not as vital as BiS essences and all azerite traits.

I know. Which is why that part is in parentheses, as a side note, in case anyone wants to level a char from scratch. If you already have a 120 char, getting max cloak, essences and gear is fast, especially if you have a guild to help. The limiting factor is HV keys (but that’s doable in a few weeks at most, too), and azerite traits. But you can get to a reasonable ilevel of azerite with decentish traits by the time you reach R15 cloak.

You dont have to be R15 back to be decent-ish because there will no good corruptions in our bags…
Things still work nicely alot before that !

lots of comments

1st - Enveloping mist extension is needed in m+ tyrannical bosses. This is why the cap should be 5. It is also good to maintain on tank in trash pulls.

I can boost a character to 120 money isn’t issue. For raiding mythic it is quite difficult to have a character ready with the cloak, corruption etc. You need preferably BIS azurite too, I can do 19 keys for residuum but even then it will take awhile to get what you need.

The change is impactful, enough to kill it, due to the fact you cannot have 14+ REMS out in raid and Enveloping in M+ (not needed often but is needed)

Enveloping does about 10k HPS per one. 9roughly) 5 in a raid would be 50k HPS if zero overheal, this isn’t huge numbers. To maintain them you have to be very active in kicking, which means you are not casting other spells. its a trade off. a fair one. 20 is to many, 5 was fine.

appreciate the inputs.

EDIT:

What we can say now is their true intention is to kill this play style off

Shadowlands class change

Monk

  • [![Rising Mist ] Rising Sun Kick heals all allies with your Renewing Mist, Enveloping Mist, or Essence Font for [ 30% of Spell Power ], and extends those effects by 2 sec.

God give us some hope… You just lose faith in their ability to make this game anymore…
