Well, I reckon I’m not the only player sad to see our post-60 levels disappear. About 14 years worth of expansion levelling deleted from history. I won’t go over the (I suppose mostly “emotional”) arguments why I hate this change or why I’m questioning the logic behind it but there it is.
And to be perfectly honest, I’m not a big fan of the changes to (at least) the Enhancement shaman. But I’ll get used to it.
However, I can’t ignore the other things this update has brought. As a very casual solo player I’m thankful for the other features that were brought in and also things like the lowering of requirements for unlocking allied races. I’ll certainly enjoy making more characters in the near future. New content is also always welcome and I look forward to experiencing it all.
So to all the hard working creators of content in this game: thanks! Have yourself a cookie.
Hoping some other people here are also having a good time despite the things we’ve lost. Good day!
We havent lost anything
Except for in some cases their mind
Everything is the same, just the numbers changed
After Legion did you lost your 900+ gear?
No
Like now, you didn’t lost your fanci 470+ gear
They just recalibrated the numbers, your 50 now the old 120

We got squished so everything is still there really. I think it’s a welcome change but not everyone is going to like it.

When you have 32 186.88 meters and you turn in into 20 miles, you’re not loosing anything. You’re just using a different scale.

The problem is: we didn’t have a new scale. We just loose the levels.
A welcome change? whom - I think it’s an idiotic change. Increasing the level is in every RPG the way to proceed. A better solution is to freze the maximum level and proceed with a Champion level like TESO or th mechanism in Diablo.
No that is something you think is a better solution, personally I would hate that.
Squishing is far superior IMO.
It took you 20-30 hours to level from 1-120, not 14 years. The squish and new leveling system are sooo much more enjoyable to level alts and especially for new players, i don’t understand how people are complaning about it honestly.

Good riddance. I hate big numbers. I was begging for a squish since WoD. This is the change I was most excited about. I can finally look at my numbers and feel like I’m playing WoW not Maplestory.

If you really wanted low numbers, you could simply play Classic. Character level squish is reasoned with bullpooh. The “long” level grind could easily be XP-buffed, and a variant of Chromie-time could also work up to 120.
For the talent distribution - some of the borrowed powders could if possible be made into new talent tiers instead for levels 110 and 120. Or the current talent tiers could be scaled up so last tier is at lvl 120 instead of 100. Should be no problems as levelling should go faster anyway.
the next generation of wow players who join while the game is in this state will be something horrible to play with because they will expect everything to be easy and fast.
it wont be yet but blizzard have shot themselves in the foot for the future by making these changes.
This is just sad
Did you forgot your medication again, didn’t you?
I don’t get why there is this drama about the levels and stats squish, they haven’t removed anything except numbers
I’m still 120 on the forums. I am conflicted on if I feel like I am above everyone else, or left behind.
I am definitely not sad to see the level squish come. I’ve never been attached to the numbers, but the events, placed, memories etc.
Alright I’ll try to put it nicely. There are some people here who (possibly on purpose) twist words and misinterpret content of posts. That’s a shame. Completely missing the point of the thread.
I wish you all well and hope that you’ll be more positive on here in the future.
Let’s go and have some fun in Azeroth!
EDIT: Just to be clear here because posts are still coming in, there’s NO POINT in arguing about the level squish. None whatsoever. An opinion was shared. The change is accepted. That’s it. Please visit other on-going threads for this argument.
actulay the level squish was needed, no new sane player would have ever gone through 130 levels to get to max level, not even veteran players liked the leveling experience anymore.
whit only 60 levels, it feels better, be it artificial or not doesnt matter at all, but it feel way better now, when you se progress when you level.

I think you understand it actually, but on an emotional level may not yet.
You know, I made an addon called SquishMe because I got tired of the pretense that I was growing in strength as I was spending a considerable effort killing 10 boars at the same time and then afterward I went and 1-shot Ragnaros the Firelord.
Levels in WoW were meaningless, and to some extent they still are. It’s a darned shame, but it is what it is.
If you want to try something where character level is REALLY the bee’s knees, have a look at Skyrim’s Requiem mod, ideally version 1.9.4. In that game, let me tell you, levels mean something.
You didnt lose anything, but ok.
I’m loving the changes (esp. the new hair styles etc.) I am sure you will find enjoyment again in the game, sometimes it is a matter of taking a time out and looking at those thoughts/feelings.
