As most of you Alliance players might have discovered lately the World PVP scenario just isn’t worth it anymore, i’ve been enjoying alot of PVP along the road (primarily casual.) but these days World PVP isn’t fun as Alliance… For every 100 Horde i meet i see 1 Alliance with 150k HP… Everytime you do dailies you can’t kill a single rare because there are 100 Hordes swarming them, if you get attacked by 1 Horde there are 20 to follow instantly, WPvP is neither fun, balanced or worth it anymore… And it pains me to see just how bad it has gotten, i wanted to have the opportunity to do PVP but these days you face nothing but people with 600k+ HP and when there’s 20 of them it just ruins the fun, especially with Corruption literally 1 shooting you.
I’ve been loving WPvP whenever Alliance was present, tho these days they’re non-existant and it’s just not worth it anymore… I hope Blizzard will fix this problem… I’ve also experienced 100’s of Hordes literally camping Northern Strangletrhorn, Duskwood and Redrige literally just ganking lowbies, i don’t think that’s a very good thing for newcomers and believe that really should be sorted… Just a thought…
Anyways, for my sake World PvP is officially dead until Alliance actually start toggling it on again.
Pretty bad levelling through Legion as Alliance, keep getting ganked by groups of Horde or much higher ilvl solo playing Horde. What I now do is keep my main in the zone on standby, and if anyone ganks me (I don’t mind being killed in a fair fight, mind) I switch to main and roflstomp them.
Seems you have just been unlucky with shards, my 3 latest visits to nazjatar had always an entire alliance raid farming hordes at Newhome, and latest assault had several alliance ganking squads roaming.
I mean this is quite common no matter what faction. I’m doing dailies and such in WM because it is more beneficial to do it then but then you run into the issue there is 5-6 alliance gank squads just to kill you. The easy solution which I don’t know why they haven’t done yet is just make all groups of 3+ members into their own phasing because how the hell am I supposed to kill 5-8 guys jumping me while I’m killing a rare or even just flying by to go to another location and they net you and you die from fall damage? Either they need to remove the bonus you get from WM which would mean noone would use it OR they leave as is and the only ones not complaining are people in gank squads. Easiest solution would be just to phase groups into their own part and those without with those without
All anecdotal… frequently come across a ton of Alliance when I’m in a zone with the weekly pvp quest in when an invasion is up.
People don’t grasp that balancing isn’t an issue with world PvP due to sharding… the issue is people inviting others to their groups to their shard tipping it over, AND THAT GOES BOTH WAYS.
That’s true, but there still are 3times more shards dominated by Horde than Alliance, else the Bonus would not be stuck at 30%, occasionally tipping to 25% every 4-5 weeks.
You are right that the system is setup primarilly to frog solo-players and advantage players making groups - but still as a solo Horde-Player your chances to land in a shard dominated by your faction are VASTLY higher; first because there simply are way less shards dominated by Alliance and then because your faction is just so much fatter that chances are other players will fill up those few Alliance shards for you and you will land on an excess Shard with literally ZERO Alliance where you get your 10% bonus without ANY risk of even meeting an Alliance player.
The chances for a Solo-Alliance player to experience this are close to zero.
The result is that if you are a casual who just intends to do some world content with WM ON and do NOT intend to join a group for it, your experience will be vastly superior on the Horde side. And near unplayable on the Alliance side.
Very similar to how random BGs are.
@OP:
Where you are mistaken is that Alliance DO in fact turn WM on more - they are just doing it after faction changing to the Horde.
Yeah… 'cept I got an Alliance Mage, my main alt, that has WM on permanently and I never had problems levelling it or doing WQs for Gold… yet my main, this character, frequently encounters groups of Alliance while out doing gold WQs…
but isnt AD sharded with no other realm? doesnt this also apply for warmode? if so then alliance should be in an advantageous position as its an alliance dominated realm.
I was able to level a Horde character without being touched with WM on I even got some of those chests that rnadomly appear which was cool.
Tried with an Alliance alt and ended up getting camped by large groups of 120’s needless to say I no longer play my alliance character with WM on because it’s just not worth the wasted time.
How is it that bad for you while i’m seeing an army of alliance anywhere i go with warmode? To the point that in order to not be annoyed every 2 seconds while questing, i just turned it off.
The stories you hear here never match my experience in game.
Yep, same here. When on horde it’s all lalalalala, done without problems. Alliance, ganking, unable to do assaults, unable to kill rares…It is terrible. There is no 30% bonus for nothing, more and more horde players and less and less alliance. Ravencrest main guilds will transfer if they already didn’t to horde. I don’t know what Blizzard is waiting for, obviously 30% bonus isn’t enough, because it’s not worthy your nerves while you are trying to do simple quests. Alliance is dying and that is the fact.
Don’t know what you’re on about… I WQ with zero issues. People like you make it sound like I can’t take two steps without getting ganked by some gank squad of Horde, which is absolute rubbish. I’ve been benefiting the 30% on all these gold world quests for a long time unhindered.
