For dwarves I would usually advise something along the lines of; “och luddeh where be me 'ammer”
For the forsaken it’d probably be something along the lines of; “och embrace the gift of undeath”
All in all, I think undead characters have the potential of bringing much more to the table than living characters in some cases; How was the previous life, is there still any memory of it, are you vengeful, sorrowful, or do you still take pleasure in mortal activities? Do you smell of a decaying bog, or try to cover it up with rosemary and other strong fragrances?
I think its good when people play characters that aren’t exactly stereotypical, yet not lore-breaking either. People telling you to “behave like a forsaken” shouldn’t really tell you how you should play out your character, if there is one thing I hate about RP - it is people telling you how to play. If it crosses the boundries of blatant lore-breaking, godmodding, etc. then sure, but otherwise, sod off and look towards your own character instead of telling people what and how to play.
Sure, my Dwarf is an alcoholic just like next, but he still has oddities you wouldn’t often find in a Dwarf. I and some others ran across an interesting Forsaken paladin-themed character in the latest RP-PvP campaign and it was quite a refreshing scene from the usual “embrace the gift of undeath you stuntling, for the banshee queen!”
Kind of reminded me of the undead paladin boss that was part of the old four horsemen in old Naxxramas.
If i am not mistaken those that gathered in the Arathi Highlands were chosen because their relatives agreed on coming as well as a sort of small lottery to “test the waters” so to speak.
They indeed were shot and killed so those that didnt attend might still have relatives who they wanted to see but they didnt want to see them or they just werent picked this time. This means you can still harbor hate towards the lady but hide it, and actually heared of Calia Menethil and are waiting for when she will arrive.
Not every forsaken are the dark lady’s tool but you have to hide and act as if you are.
Or simply you can be Naive as they are portrayed in the novel and believe every word that Sylvanas utters. Meaning you think the Arathi as betrayers and that it was a bad idea… how interesting would it be if somebody would suddenly enlighten on what has transpired.
Threads like these that regard new or returning Forsaken RPer’s inspire me to great a thread about how to RP a Forsaken. This gives me that motivation to make that happen, thought I would agree it would never be perfect to start with as things would change or I’d be incorrect in some cases.
But I love seen the Forsaken community grow and want to write a thread about the ‘How to RP a Forsaken’
I like the idea but you also have to consider -when- he was raised. A lot of time has passed since Lordaeron fell and if he was raised around that time you’ll have to account for where he’s been!
You are right, could someone who died in prison when lordaeron was first taken of been raised t a later stage? Or I guess I coul say he was just a normal civilian for a few years before trying to properly contribute.
Edit:On second thought i think he may have wanted to go out and explore the world a bit, now he has the chance. This would be quite dangerous though by himself, maybe he could of got a job as a wagon driver, help delivering supplies. Or working as a fetcher for the apothecary. Something low level but allows him to get out of undercity from time to time.
