Got to say that exploration in Dragonflight is really cool

There are lots of spots of interest that aren’t marked on the map, which you can find if you just put some time into exploring and flying around non-obvious places. NPC’s, quests, hidden treasures or just peculiar spots. Really makes the world feel alive.

It’s great, isn’t it?
I found a quest chain today that was in a hidden away spot when I was convinced I had cleared the map!
I usually make sure I’ve done Loremaster for each expansion but this is the first one where I’ve been determined to make sure I do every quest I find coz I’m enjoying them so much😁

It’s the first time in a while I’ve cared for side quests. The 2 particular one which I loved were in the Waking Shore. The ones with the 2 orcs and the one with the dragon that visages as a dwarf.

Such simple quests, yet the text and story within it just added so much to the world, reminded me how long I’ve known and liked elements of warcraft!

On the other had, hidden in plain sight in Valdrakken, that Bronze dragon, who’s a cheese monger and is called… Gorgonzormu!!!   classic values!

Have you done the one in azure span with the tuskarr painter? Really cool.

I really loved the one in The Cobalt Assembly creche where the bad guy winds up staying to babysit! That one cracked me up.
Also loved helping the the Tuskaar kid ‘kill’ the yeti…

There are some very opinionated kids in this expansion! LOL

Tuskars are awesome in general. I spent 5 minutes in Iskaara running around a mammoth calf with two tuskar kids. There’s also a cool quest where tuskar kids find a gnoll pup and when you complete it they just sit together in the camp and the gnoll will sell you backpack skins.

I guess hes the gnoll pup you hear in brackenhide dunheon.

They teach the Gnoll to eat fish… so cute :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

In the post-Community Feast cinematic (when you click the pot for the buff) you also see the gnoll pup eating from the soup with the tuskarr kids, which is absolutely adorable.

And yeah, I agree. I love what they’ve done with the world this expac with all the little things going on. In Thaldraszus I spotted a big bird of prey mob who had adopted a group of tiny ducklings. One was riding on his/her back as well.

Scraps is a national treasure and I hope he will grow up to lead the “good” Gnols to be an allied race

That Gnoll kid is hilarious

That is an awesome little quest
Not to mention it is a very few that sheds some - tho’ tiny - light to the Dracthyr
Venderthvan mentions clutchmates. Clutchmate is one who born in the same clutch of eggs - so the Dracthyr indeed came from eggs and were kids, not just fully formed supersoldiers from a test tube

still i prefer to explore on a normal mount, yes the dragons can go fast but for gathering exploration the normal one are far better.

It makes me sad that there are people who download add ons to find everything like glpyhs and hidden treasures ect and then do it all in like two days and then say there is nothing to do.

it is so much more fun and rewarding when you discover stuff by stumbling on it ‘naturally’ rather than just using an add on imo

Just remembered the underwater bar at the Waking Shores. You should really visit that one if you haven’t! You have to go there if you’re working on your Otto mount, but it’s quite far out of the way otherwise.

And while not so much of an exploring thing; I love the fact that Tong the Fixer is now part of the Wrathion faction and hangs out at the Obsidian Bulwark, after putting up with so much from him back in MoP during the legendary cloak questline. Wrathion basically destroyed his inn and belittled him after Tong gave him some very good advice. Maybe he apologized to Tong off-screen and made up for the damage? ;D

I was on the big turtle that floats around and it took me to this little island in the corner of the map. It’s just full of tuskarr children throwing snowballs. You can join in and throw snowballs at them. There’s also a vendor who sells sleds and stuff.
Exploration is definitely cool.

Flying does not lower the experience, that’s my take on it. In my case being able to explore the zones from the air enhances the experience, and dragonriding is an improvement to old flying, tho could use a few more tweaks to the vigor system.

No idea what makes it better for you op, but assuming zones designed with flying in mind has something to do with it.

Nice! You can also build some tuskarr kids a snowman somewhere in The Azure Span. You need to push three of the balls around in the snow until they get a fitting size and then roll them together in front of the kids. I believe there’s an achievement attached to that one.

Oh, and you can surf behind the boat that ferries between Uktulut Pier and Uktulut Outpost. There’s some surfboards on the starboard side of the turtle you can interact with, after which you can click on the tethers at the back of the boat and you get into a little minigame where you impress the other surfers. No rewards or anything, but it’s still kinda funny.

The tuskarr really bring the fun, it seems.

Omergud I haven’t seen that yet.

Nor this! Looks like I’ve got some more stuff to do. Thanks for the heads up!

I died trying to get to the Forbidden Reach but it was totally worth it
