Graphic Cubes at Bastion NPCs

So, most of us have already seen what those graphic cubes are when textures are missing. My question is, because I see it on the NPC from Bastion that gives you the quest for collecting souls from the Maw, her spell animation has her throw cubes around at the Soulforge/conduit w/e.

Same thing appears at Xandria NPC when she throws her spear in the dungeon Necrotic Wake.

My question is, is there a way to fix them? Is it side client issue? What does it even mean when that happens? I haven’t noticed anywhere else this issue, just those two. But kind of irritating and worrying if it’s actually my issue.

Complete shot in the dark, but I find I get weird textures on DirectX 12, and switching to DirectX 11 helps.

Tried your suggestion, not only it didn’t help but brought my FPS down by -50

Went back to “Auto-Detect”. I assume it’s using directx12

The graphic glitch I’m talking about looks like this by the way (ignore the circle, that’s my cursor)

That’s not really a glitch but a placeholder model like in a alpha/beta with unfinished content.
So either everyone has these boxes because Blizzard messed up or there could be something corrupt with your installation.
Maybe let the launcher verify your game files.

I did a scan and repair. Issue persists.

Is it safe to assume that the problem doesn’t lie on my side but on Blizzard?
Haven’t noticed the issue elsewhere but those 2 NPCs I mentioned.

Drivers are up to date aswell.

This is likely the reason. You see the extact same thing with certain gear on the Armory pages and the forum profile avatars. There have been quite a few recently so if think Blizzard are updating things. There usually just temporary though.

You could try deleting your cache folder to see if that helps. By default it’s located in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\_retail_

Is it safe to delete the cache tho? I mean, is it gonna reset my WA/UI addons configurations etc?

If developers are storing configuration files in a cache folder, then they are idiots. Cache folders are meant for semi-temporary files. Not configuration files.

Yes it is safe to delete your cache folder. Your game settings and addon settings are not stored there (Those are in the WTF folder). It’s just temporary game data in the Cache.
