So despite thousands of casts I have yet to fish up a Great Sea Ray. I know they were plentiful early BfA but I joined late, whatever.
So my question is, should anyone know, whether they can be fished up in Najzatar or Mechagon?
According to Wowhead, Mechagon = Yes, Najzatar = No.
Highest drop rate noted seems to be Drustvar though.

Thanks a bunch. Checked wowhead and apparently it does drop in both zones. I’m a little (very?) surprised I haven’t fished it up yet 10 months after coming back since I do fish a lot, every day.
Hopefully Mechagon or Nazjatar will be good to me.
Are you sure? It hasn’t been notably looted in Nazjatar yet, Nazmir it has…
You’re correct. It’s been looted in Mechagon but not in Nazjatar. Which is annoying as Nazjatar is where I’d want to fish for the added (only?) bonus of the new fish.
its best to give up, if you missed the start of bfa then you will never ever see it. i am over 10k fish caugh this expansion and i never saw it drop.
I just bought the darkmoon faire one instead, its the exact same mount but a slightly different color
I mean it’s one of those things. I’m fishing casually these days, say around 150 fish a day. It’ll drop. Eventually.
thats what i thought for several months, in the end its just way easier getting the darmoon faire one. only mount collecters would torture themselves like this
Even casual fishing is not worth it anymore for me since fish prices have gone down since 8.2 as well

I got it after around 2000 casts in drustvar, keep the faith alive!

It’s also an achievement so us achievement hunters want it to! FYI I’ve done a couple of thousands casts and still nothing
