Great Vault Feature Request: Allow us to Blacklist items

This feature request is specifically targeting the M+ Great Vault section.

The Issue
The M+ Vault Loot pool is heavily diluted with unwanted gear. When compared to Raid Loot pool. Currently in this Raid tier there are 32 pieces of loot for Havoc Demon Hunters while there are 33 pieces of loot for Arcane Mages. However in this current M+ season for Havoc Demon Hunters there are 58 pieces of loot while Arcane Mage has 67; these are just 2 examples of diluted loot pools. If I were to spend the time checking all Class/spec loot pools we would see the exact same issue across the board.

The Proposed Solution
In addition to allowing us to select a piece of loot from The Great Vault allow us to mark a single piece of gear that dropped to be added to a black list. Once on this blacklist that piece of gear will never drop in the vault again until removed from the list. Each week the loot pool will slowly get smaller allowing people a higher chance of getting desired items. Allow players to remove items from the blacklist but don’t allow players to add new items in. The only condition for adding an item to the black list is on vault opening and it has to drop in the vault.

(some napkin math below)

We’re currently on week 8 for the season (at time of posting)
For Havoc that would be a 14% reduction in loot pool. Increasing drop chance of desired item from 1.72% to 2.00%
For Arcane Mages a 12% reduction in their loot pool. Increasing drop chance of desired item from 1.49% to 1.69%

20 Weeks into a season numbers would look like this:
For Havoc Demon Hunter that would be a 35% reduction in loot pool. Increasing drop chance of desired items from 1.72% to 2.63%
For Arcane Mage a 30% reduction in their loot pool. Increasing drop chance of desired items from 1.49% to 2.12%

better yet:
just remove all myth track items from the game.

great vault casino was one of the worst additions in wow

That reads a lot like ‘get rid of gear I’m not good enough to earn’.

then why do I wear myth track items?

it is just not good design to wait 1 week for 1 item and the longer we are in the season the worse your odds get to get the slot, let alone the stats you need.

On your level 50 that isn’t linked to your main? Of course you do. (If a player posts on a low level character and doesn’t have their main linked on RIO, I assume they’re doing it for anonymity and I don’t search any further for a main.)

What you’re really saying is you want to get rid of the weekly vault, then.

didnt even know it isn’t linked.
but assuming people are bad for merely +18s to get myth track items is probably also not the way…

technically I just dislike that you can only get the myth track items from myth raiding (that nobody does) and the vault once a week.
So if you still get vault items on heroic track and also get those items from end of dungeon runs for a +20 for example, then it would be fine in my eyes.

The vault becomes irrelevant, then, and everyone takes sockets every week.

All we need is an alternative sold by the socket vendor that lets you upgrade a hero track item to mythic track. I have a heroic track My’das, and the chance of ever seeing it on myth track are about the same as winning the lottery.

Right now I’m just getting sockets or gold from the vault unless I happen to get a Mythic My’das. Currently the logic is 1 mythic track item per week, so if the result is 1 mythic track item per week, there’s no reason I shouldn’t be able to instead of getting that item directly, upgrade my own item to a higher track. Sell an item to upgrade item tracks as an alternative to sockets.

This will make farming items possible while not being able to upgrade items at a fast pace.

For M+ I would like for them to add more gear tracks after a +20 other than the vault.

Maybe a “random chance” of upgrading a hero piece to a myth piece after every run. To avoid mindless farming…

Nice idea, however it is targeted a bit too much at people who know a lot about the game. Newbies and the uni-initiated wouldn’t have a clue how to handle this.

I think I’d rather have something like in the trading post, where you have a ‘freeze box’. Say you get two good rewards you can put the other one in the freeze box and take it next time if your choices aren’t good.

To be honest it is mostly trinkets and weapons that people are specific about. Bringing back the dinar so that after x amount of weeks you can just purchase the thing you want is probably the best solution for all player types.
