Blizzard should do something about it, but I guess they won’t, because they’re probably making more money. But the dungeon boosting has killed the game. From 1-60 I couldn’t get dungeon groups because it wasn’t worth it, it would take hours to get one usually.
I feel that the community itself has ruined this game, through greed. No one wants to have fun together, dungeon, help anyone else, meet people, take 5 seconds off from 100% efficiency. People say Activision ruined it by their greed, but the greed of the players is just as bad, if not worse. Players just happen to be in a different position.
I am trying to do my lvl 60 paladin mount quest and I need to do Dire Maul West dungeon. For a whole day I can’t find anyone, apart from a few people who join in and expect you to get the group together while they do nothing, then leave after 10 minutes without even saying anything.
I change my advertise to instead of paying 10g for help, after a whole day, to paying 300g. I am inundated with whispers from people. Over 10 whispers almost immediately just from the LFG channel. No help from anyone, no help from guild. But 300g and everyone is scrambling to join you. The game is unplayable.
I don’t believe there is much good left in this game, apart from the occasional dopamine boost of levelling up or getting some gear. What do you think?
I have pretty much given up hope for this game but maybe there is someone out there that feels the same way I do. Maybe most have already moved on. For me this game is unplayable in its current state.
Why would ppl with limited time on how much they can play go and do Dire maul without any kind of reward? I mean its not a fun dungeon to do while lvling etc. Its not wiwrd that you have to play unless you have friends to help you.
Greed isn’t anything to do with why I don’t do “fun” stuff anymore. It’s because I’m no longer 20 years old, I don’t have the time I used to have and even if I did the novelty has long past after 15 years or so playing this game.
My goals in TBC are to just raid and have a good time doing that as time effectively as I can, even the gear is largely an afterthought because if you play with good people everyone gets geared. And regarding your paladin quest, if you level to 70 you can solo it. I’m levelling a Paladin myself and it’s level 54, I also won’t be able to find a group… Even in the original TBC I had to play with RL friends to get stuff like that done.
This is why you need to communicate with and help people yourself first. Because good deeds and communication will make people want to help you in return.
You can’t join random guild and expect full cooperation from them if the barely know you.
Offer help in return. Maybe you can tank or heal couple of heroics for their help. Or some crafts from your profession as a gift.
Use discord to make topic about you needing help from your guild.
Ask your friend list. I hope you communicate with them and keep connection and they are not just some randoms you had a good dungeon run a year ago in Classic and never chatted with.
Last but not least, maybe you are on low population server. And there are less free people in general to help you or you are on Megaserver where small problems like that are used to be solved with big amount of gold only.
