Legion I have the quest to raise 6 followers to 925… I have two at 925 and I thought I could use https://www.wowhead.com/item=153006/grimoire-of-lost-knowledge so I spent nethershards on them, only to find it says follower at max xp … which is a lie as they are 900. Am I missing something…? How to get the 900s fast to 925?

Can’t remember how the followers worked exactly but wasn’t there gear and xp / levels? Aren’t there armour upgrade items for nethershards also?
I think the only way to get higher ilvl for followers was the mission table.
Yeah, the followers have their own XP, but then you equip them so that their item level increases. From https://www.wowhead.com/legion-class-hall-mission-guide#leveling-and-quality
Item Levels
As said, level 110 is the maximum level for champions, but their progress doesn’t quite stop there. At level 110 champion item level is displayed and set to 760 and you can start raising it; higher item level is needed in order to beat the more difficult missions. The maximum item level currently is 950.
Instead of experience, boosting the champion’s item level requires the use of the champion armaments up to item level of 900:
Bulky Armor Set: +5 to item level
Spiked Armor Set: +10 to item level
Invincible Armor Set: +15 to item level
Patch 7.3. introduced a catch-up mechanic to raise champion item levels, but these Argus armor sets also provide the only way to reach the maximum item level of 950:
Relinquished Armor Set: Set champion item level to 880
Krokul Armor Set: Set champion item level to 900
Mac’Aree Armor Set: Set champion item level to 925
Xenedar Armor Set: Set champion item level to 950

The grimoire is only for Exp for your followers, you then need to raise their ilvl with armor tokens you get from the legion mission table and a few other places iirc.
900/925 etc is your followers ilvl
