Grind starts immediately at 60

All of which are optional.

Don’t see it as a must-do-in-an-hour

I thoroughly enjoy seeing and getting towards my goals.

The covenant armor however, I can agree with. It will suck by the time I reach it.

And they do not need to be completed within the hour.

Do your weeklys as always, if you wish to speed it up, do EVERYTHING and burn out as usual.

Every expansions the same complaint.

i belive there is a certain group of people (not small one) that want retail to be like classic - they want to literaly only log in to raid and mythic + - nothing else.

those people will be never satisfied becaue their vision of game is fundamentaly different then most of playerbase

dont blame them - this kind of gameplay does have certain type of appeal for grown up people. but is unhealthy for mmorpg .

that said - my vision of mmorpg is even more wierd - i belive that game should never be tuned around having things from renown/legendaries etc in mind - farming those things should make game much easier to the point of encounters being a joke. but thats just me and how i wish wow would work  (something that works like 40% buffs from ICC - there is a reason why raiding had it “golden age” back then )

Great! Legion had high grind and I loved it.

and don’t compare the Shadowlands grind with Azerite ( BfA ). Just
don’t. Ever!

Not only the grind in BfA was pathetic, but the rewards, which is the most important thing in a grind, was beyond stupid. That was the problem with BfA, at least in the first few months, as I quit right after.

At least here we have multiple
grinds which, the items you earn are going to massively impact your gameplay.

The good thing is you don’t have to do it unlike in BFA/legion. Covenants “leveling” is just for cosmetic/titles/mounts and for 2-4% (not that much to care) stamina which you can ignore. At least I can only focus on alts leveling and on things that I like because I don’t have to farm azerite traits/essences

Which is exactly the problem.
They can add as many grinds to the game as they want. I might even do some of them. But it should all be separate. There is no reason to have player power come from anything but the content it is relevant for.
The performance of my character in raids should come from raids. The gear from bosses preferably.
It does not even matter wether we take Legion, BFA or now SL. Its all dumb
that i need to interact with multiple of the games systems even if i only want to
focus on one of them.

That is not classic. It was like that all the way until MoP maybe even WoD.
If you wanted to raid youd raid. If you wanted to do other things youd do other things. And that was great. During Cata i had entire stretches of time during which i only logged in for 2*3 hours a week for raiding.
With any sort of Ap system thats not possible unless the catchup comes in the mailbox.

For the last 2 expansions it was impossible for me to enjoy the game longterm.
These mechanics are identical in nature to daily and weekly login bonuses that you see in every free mobile game because they need to Fomo for player retention.
Legion and BFA: Play 2 weeks, unsub until flying. Come back for a month, unsub.
Come for the last 6 weeks to enjoy the content relatively free of timegating and artifical lengthening of playtime.

what? I did most of my weekly stuff yesterday and I’ll spend rest of the week spamming bgs, farming boes and mounts. What grind? XD

oh noes. 2 dailies to do in maw and torghast once a week. everything you mentioned is completely optional.

No, then you do what you actually enjoy in the game. Weird concept, right?

Look at the rest of my posts in this thread. I KNOW it’s optional, that’s just a list of activities you can do between the “grind” of renown.

there is nothing wrong with time gating content for time management.
do you really want to complete everything fast and get bored early ?
this is when “you think you do, but you dont” apply.

for the too much grind, havent reached level 60 yet so i wont say anything about that.

It is not the same for everyone.
But this expansion is for me the worst ever,
the different areas are so ugly and bad.

Is only ilev 155, but it is totally impossible to keep my pet alive,
especially in Torghast and one’s spells are insanely slow.

And was in maw for about 10 minutes and already reached threat level 5,
it can not be true that you can only be there for 10 minutes a day

Must admit that I am close to stopping, this expansion is not just me
Will give it a try, but

if you’re catching up on maw then yes you’re gonna have to do few quests with jailer level 5 but if you’re up to date with everything then it should be fine. I only reached lvl 5 yesterday and it was because of additional challenges. Mobs hit super hard.

honestly ? yes i wish i could do that. bing farm for 2 weeks and be done for half of year.

but it wuld be very bad game desing for majority of players who play maybe 4-6 hours a week .

Which covenants did you join?!
I bet the tea party covenant to entertain guests, is what you choosed. Thus, this grind will lead to a grindy experience like Azerite

I, for one, will create more unquie zombies. This will give me the motivation to grind

I never said that.

But if someone chooses to no life certain aspects of the game they should be able to imo.

and how exactly are you going to compete in a raid, in the beginning?!

Is a game. And there are systems and content which you must first do in order to
progress. You are like the ones who goes by : “I want to level up through Dungeons!!! Why they force me to do quests?!”

Again, is a game. And a MMO. There will be content which you love and which you don’t, and that’s fine. You can’t please everyone

Sure you cant.
Bu then why try to get everyone to do everything?
Older expansions managed just fine to have different types of content
exist indipendent of each other.
You could get more stuff from elsewere but you did not have to.

By starting in normal mode with items gotten from leveling?

Whats wrong with those people complaining about a valid point?
Right now im halfway through Mald and if i could i would level the rest with dungeons. So far a handful of quests managed to be somewhat enjoyable.
The rest was awful. Bastion is one of the worst questings ive ever done in this game. Storywise the first 70% of the zone can be left out without missing anything.

I have the same thing. I was sick and tired of being forced to follow this 1 quest line. Before you could level however you like, even doing battlegrounds but now you have to do every single one of those quests to pick a covenant. It wouldn’t be so bad but 40% of those quests have nothing to do with the actual lore and could be removed to make it less irritating. And when you hit 60 the real quest grind starts and you HAVE TO do it because otherwise you’d be playing without a soulbind or conductors or you’ll be behind on legendary if you don’t instantly start working on the mission table.
They should have time gated this.

Idd timegating and infinity grind is a cheap excuse for content.
