So i unlocked the Mag’har Orcs and was hyped as hell when i saw an older Gromm in alternative Draenor during the unlock questline. He wasn’t voiced but it still said Warchief when you scrolled over him. Finally! I thought, some of the wasted potential from WoD would be salvaged. Maybe he would meet Thrall and they would become buddies in their old age like his main timeline version was before he sacrificed himself to kill Mannoroth. Maybe Thrall would make him the next Warchief after Sylvanas, or maybe not because he wouldn’t want annother Hellscream after what Garrosh did. But still it would be cool to have him back and have Garrosh’s story continued in a sense, as he basically died in order to meet his father and free the Orcs from corruption. Nope, he dies to Yrel who has become a light zealot and now the Mag’har Orc leader, a patriartical society, is a female Orc no one has ever seen before and is also apperently gender swapped Thrall? What? Why? Why is Blizz killing so many old school, important and badass characters left and right? We had a legit excuse to have Gromm back and he just died in a questline most players won’t see. Vol’Jin had a poor death as well and while i think Anduin is cool and all and is progressing, he is not as badass as Varian was and not as badass as Jaina is in this expansion, he is in fact a huge pushover, but i am getting off topic at this point.
Ever since “draenor is free” moment I stopped having faith in him.
But I don’t think he’s dead, his fate is left ambiguous. Also the scenario was rushed I think this was why he wasn’t voiced. Since the mag’har were supposed to be the allied races for 8.1.5 instead of the Zandalari.
Alt-time line, means nothing. Draenor basically means nothing. It was a device to bring Gul’dan to Azeroth.
The questline was a way to get brown orcs to players. I seriously doubt that we’ll see them again.
I was hoping to see Yrel during Legion but nope.
WoD as whole was wasted…
And they could have written it into the Argus plot… which also was wasted.
And they just wasted Azsharah…
They are good at wasting things.
She’s not done with.
To be honest almost all the allied race scenarios / recruitment events felt very rushed somewhat cringy and a a joke in the lore.

Grommash was a joke. I hope Mr. “Draenor is free” is dead now.
He played his role in the past. With the Mag’har orc scenario it was a closure to draenor as we knew it.
As far as I’m concerned, he’s a monster who ordered for Stormwind to be annihilated by an iron star. He can rot in the Shadowlands.
From WoD the ones who were truly wasted imo were Ner’zhul and Maraad.
Ner’zhul barely did anything while Maraad died for Yrel who was a worst version of him.
Yeah it feels like each expansion is disposable
