The loot system is the biggest shot in the foot Blizzard has done in many years. I dont know if people realize but the WoW PuG community is a big % of the subscription payers , people that come home after a long days work and wanna relax do some raiding get some loot. With personal loot in Shadowlands, I used to get guaranteed 1 piece or two per raid. Sometimes even 3. If I didnt need it, I rolled it for others. Now? I raided 8 weeks and got ZERO loot from the raid, only vault rewards once/week. How is that respecting my subscription money and time ?
Blizz changed this loot system because of the streamers and hard core players, which are paying their subscriptions with WoW tokens, given that most of them are boosters. And this was a minor inconvenience for them because you can have a group loot system even with personal loot ON. There is the LootCouncil addon that everyone uses.
So why did blizzard shot themselves in the foot with this one, is beyond my understanding. Do a single LFR or pug a raid, check the topics on this forums, and see that a lot of people stopped playing because lack of rewards.
Ive pugged the first 2 mythic, how i got my trinket, I’ve pugged HC and I’ve pugged normal, I’ve not had a single problem with the loot system…
Sure I’ve lost items to others, but that would happen with PL as well. What i haven’t experienced for the first time ever, is not being able to trade all the gear to friends as needed.
Yeah, no doubt the mythic raiders love this loot system because they get loot funneled by their guilds. For the pug community and lfr, its disaster. Or the random persons who got lucky with their rolls , they think its amazing yes? When you win the lottery, is all good.
But for the average player, the wow subscription payer, that doesnt buy WoW tokens for the subscription like the hard core players, its a garbage system that offers zero rewards for time spent in game.
I’ve grown up with group loot, I hated PL loot being introduced into the game. It made ppl egoistic. Killing bosses is a group achievement, what drops belongs to everbody and everybody should be able to at least see all that has dropped if not roll on it.
The over tuning bosses and M+ at the beginning of every patch/expansions and never ending nerfs following, should be enough to realize that they are indeed developing the game for the esports ambitions.
The group loot is a spit in the face towards the pug/casual player community and a warm hug towards the Mythic raiders, who had the inconvenience of installing LootCouncil addon,I guess.
Exactly, double the chance to win something. I’m really glad they brought it back, missed my need / greed rolls… only thing I miss it the dispell option in addition, which was unlocked when someone in the group had the profession, that was really neat.
If that was the case why nerf the content? That makes no sense if the content is made for the top 1% as you say.
More likely scenario, they dont want another emerald nightmare sitiuation, so things are overtuned so they can nerf it down to the difficulty they want as data becomes available.
Especially since historically blizzard doesnt wanna buff content mid season or after its been cleared, since the outcry if people were able to do X content on the tuesday, but not the wedensday after a buff would be immense.
