I read a lot of posts in these forums … most of them I scroll past as they’re obviously not after what we can offer … some I read and think “well, perhaps …” … honestly it kinda sounds like you read up on us before you posted, and then just described us
I think the only thing that might not fit, is the fact that we’re on a different realm. I know you said you’re willing to switch … but I’m from Yorkshire, UK … and we’re proud of not spending money when we don’t have to!
Anyhoo … a bit about us. Dark Wolves is a Horde guild on the joint realms of Lightbringer/Mazrigos. We’re an 18+ guild … and our average age is, erm, a tad older Most of us have families, dependants, busy social or work lives, or all of the above, and play WoW just to relax and socialise a bit.
We raid, casually, between one to three times a week, depending on the time of year and who is around. We usually raid twice a week, Wednesday and Friday between 21:30 and midnight server time (so 8.30pm to 11pm UK time).
We sometimes manage to get Ahead of the Curve, but don’t get bent out of shape if we don’t … we concentrate on Normal and Heroic raiding because it’s more flexible and less stressful than Mythic raiding.
We raid to have fun, kill a few bosses (if we’re lucky), and get a bit of loot - but primarly just to relax. Currently 6 bosses into Normal Eternal Palace.
Wednesdays are busier for raiding … usually 15-25 raiders at the moment - at the start of an expansion we’re usually getting 30. Friday’s we have less … sometimes only just scraping enough up for a group. And if we don’t, we’ll often go and do something else - weekly dungeons, etc, that type of thing.
One of the officers occasionally organises a “social Sunday” raid which starts and ends earlier, which is usually the level/raid prior to the main raid we’re on, for achievements, experience and a bit of a lark. Although he’s currently just moved house (and country!) so those are on hold at the moment.
We have no attendance requirements for raids … we stick the events up on the calendar and if people want to go, and fulfil any gear requirements (currently 400+ ilevel for Normal EP) they just sign up. We operate a first come, first served policy, although usually manage to fit everyone in who wants to go
A lot of us are major altaholics, so we have flexibility for role coverage - and a wide range of knowledge and experience between us.
We don’t all raid. We have a lot of members who never raid; who used to raid but don’t anymore; who raid only occasionally as life permits - we’re also happy to have people along who have never raided before - it’s all a learning experience
We can’t guarantee no drama … we do have a “no drama” policy … but then that’s like saying there’s no bullying in schools. The only thing we can do is have an open policy - if anyone has any problem, we ask that it is shared rather than let fester and build. We have a great Officer team, all of whom are relaxed, friendly, happy to help and can think about things calmly.
We do encourage honesty … the main thing that causes drama is people not being honest. I mean … obviously most of the guild members are super-models with high paid jobs or have won the lottery … but the important stuff … the stuff that affects others … we expect honesty with others and with themselves. Mainly things like, in a group, 'fessing up if you mucked up, rather than blaming someone else.
As far as the social side of things … we chat in guild, in-game … but it’s not non-stop chat. We might spend hours not speaking in guild as we’re doing other things (like not dying, trying not to get lost … important stuff). Other times we’ll spend ages talking … recently we had a conversation that lasted nearly a week … about pancakes
We use Teamspeak virtually solely for guild raids. We use discord for voice chat occasionally, but not regularly, mainly during dungeon runs, achievement runs, etc.
Our discord server is more like an extension of guild chat (we got a LOT of pancake photos on there recently!). We also have a Facebook page, Twitter and a website, where we have our guild application, guild rules and loads of information about us. We also put information on the website forums about upcoming raids/events.
Wow … sorry … I don’t half blather on sometimes … okay … I think I’ve said enough for now. If this sounds of interest to you, please check out our website for more information and, if you wish, to apply: www.darkwolves.eu
I mentioned our Discord earlier … we welcome guests there too, so if you want to join and ask questions or just check out those pancake photos … feel free: https://discord.gg/gQ2uBGe
