Grow the Mushrooms

Ok, alot of people seem to be struggling with this daily.

If you have the mushroom spore daily, fly to the area stand by a mushroom pull mobs to it. As you kill them the mushroom will grow. Once the mushroom is big enough destroy it and collect the spores.

I’m convinced people are trolling. :stuck_out_tongue:

I stand on a mushroom and typing in /say “don’t kill don’t kill” and people just come over slap it with DoTs and such. :frowning:

It’s doing my nut in, why can’t people just read the quest.

Could have one of those yellow pop up messages with a sound effect they sometimes use to alert you of things. to say like “The mushroom was not big enough, kill more nearby it” if they trigger it too soon… or worst case scenario just make it immune to damage or take 99% less damage until it is grown.

I said that in chat for a bunch of people to call me a “beta male nerd who has been playing since 8am spoiling the quests for people who are still figuring it out”.

:stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll come back later tonight when it’s quieter.

there are tons of small clickable mushrooms that yield 1-3 shrooms. I think its faster than doing mechanics with big boy shrooms

Thank you for this thread!

is it only me fpsing there?..

Problem i see is… how Blizzard implemented it.

When YOU going as new to ice Crown, you have the first part which is collect 20 shroom samples. And what do you see when in that location? Giant highlighted yellow shrooms. So people think they have to kill those for the collect 20 shroom samples quest. They drop nothing if you just whack 'em.

Blizzard should only highlight those shrooms FOR people on the grow the shrooms step. Otherwise people will keep coming in and massacre them thinking they drop the shroom samples - cause ya know, they are big, named shrooms and very highlighted.

The actual shroom samples new players need are tiny ones which are not well highlighted and are semi hidden under other shrooms.

Yeah sound they are busy and do faster wihout read

It would have been better if the mushrooms weren’t killable until they are fully fed.

I took an alt and did this daily about twenty minutes ago, not a soul in sight. When I did the daily for the first time today at about lunchtime, it took me literally an hour because people wouldn’t stop yeeting the mushrooms.

Took me four minutes on this latest attempt. Sigh…

Quick edit: I just remembered when I did it earlier today, I had a guy watch what I was doing for a good long while - rounding up ghouls and bringing them to a mushroom - before landing, dismounting, and killing the mushroom before I had any of the ghouls dead. I really want to hope he was just hopelessly smooth brained rather than a troll, but knowing my luck…

on 1st go my dk just ended up killing shrooms of doom unintentionally and later just picked the ones I saw and did not stand to figure what.

Later my kitten was there alone and I had time to actually pay attention to quest text as well the buff on the mushrooms. What Eureka moment. But doing it alone and feeding the mushroom was notably easier alone and with a druid than the splash-splash-splash a cleave dk :stuck_out_tongue:

Faction tapping mushrooms is a pita as well. I spend a while maxxing my shroom and some Alliance comes and steals it -_- so I just decided to fly around the edge and loot the baby ones. And never do that quest again.

Of course they are. They’d have to actually read the quest to get it. Anything more than going to the marked quest area and clicking whatever has a tooltip is beyond people these days.

I just decided to loot the small mushrooms. Much easier that way.

I have got to say , [Redacted] the alliance for stealing all the shrooms that i so nicely try to get for myself, might have been the 1st time ive raged in the game

There’s also smaller mushrooms that you can loot.

I think one of these guys might have been myself. I remember a shaman typing things like “why?” as I was flying mushroom to mushroom, killing them, I guess it might have been you. :flushed:

My sincere apologies. I didn’t notice until like mushroom #10 that the number of spores looted from it is directly proportional to how many undead were killed near it.
