Hey all, Basically whats happening is I have Gsync enabled and have done for a while now but Ive noticed mouse lag when the fps drops, also on the loading screen, does anyone know a workaround to fix?
I have the latest drivers running with an RTX 2070 Super.
Thanks
GSYNC only works within certain frequencies, a certain fps range. The loading screen falls below that range. So it’s a technology limitation. Nothing’s wrong.
Would this be the reason my mouse feels laggy when the fps drops?
This never happened before this patch to add.
Yes, it makes the mouse movement choppy when fps drops below the GSYNC limit of the monitor. It lags for me too on the loading screen.
I believe this is a DX12 issue, tried DX11 no mouse lag nor loading screen. If it makes it choppy surely its best turned off?
If you don’t want GSYNC in game, sure, or if you find that your fps drops too much too often. I only get in on the loading screen. Once in-game, I’m at 90 to 140 fps, and GSYNC works as intended.
What settings do you run in game?
The problem started when the game went from Fullscreen to Windowed : Fullscreen in Legion.
G-sync ever since has this problem, i had a both nvidia gpu and g-sync monitor.
Nvidia never bothered to fix it despite you can put in g-sync settings windowed and fullscreen mode, but that doesn’t work either.
And now I’m on a 5700XT from AMD and a Freesync monitor and i don’t have any of this trouble anymore, buttery smooth framerate.
What in game settings do you play on?
1440p with settings at 10 and MSAA 2X. I have a fairly high-end system with a 9700K and an RTX 2080.
I understand the idea of Gsync, but why does the mouse lag? And not on loading screens i get that… It’s annoying feeling a sluggish mouse at 70fps
Any official update with this?
To disable Gsync: If you go to nvidia control panel - > Manage 3d settings -> Program settings -> Select Wow - Retail scroll down to Monitor Technology and change it to fixed refresh. This seems to solve the lag issue.
This indicates that its Gsync causing the issue.
I’ve notice my frame rates drop down to around 4fps when loading screen - this could be the causation because of the way gysync/freesync tech works is it hold frames in order to push them out at certain intervals resulting in smoother looking game play, but with it only have 4 frames to push out its stuttering and causing lag?
