I hate that I have to press it 15 times a second like the game isn’t spammy enough with the regular GCD.
I hate that our signature rage spender Maul/Raze is functionally unusable because every drop of rage has to be devoured by Ironfur.
I hate that a gimmick talent like Thorns of Iron is how we are supposed to convert rage into damage now, even though it hits like a gentle breeze and looks like nothing.
I hate that our burst AoE is so laughable that our best way of getting instant aggro is to press a bleed that deals most of its damage over a long duration after getting stacked.
I hate that our gameplay identity is being a Prot Warrior that only spams Ignore Pain and Thunder Clap.
I hate that we have two off-healing talents in our class tree but not a single decent CC option.
What bothers me is that, despite being a deeply flawed game, Diablo 4 nailed the bear Druid fantasy so much better than WoW. So Blizzard can clearly design a bear-themed Druid that feels good to play from a visual standpoint. It’s not like they are clueless about what makes it click. But all we get is an underpowered spec that spams an invisible buff and a circle attack that feels like it’s twirling an orange ribbon around itself. This spec is so deeply neglected that it’s becoming a DnD Spore druid from all the mold that’s growing on it.
The ironfur spam is not that bad to be honest.
We got alot of CC with vortex, typhoon and incap roar. We even have a root.
But the off-heal is def a weird thing. We have it in our tree, but a really bad choice to do them. We lose alot if survivability. Its not worth to put a risk into my life just to off-heal a very very small amount.
But im really wondering why you are complaining about these things to be honest. According to your history in TWW, you havent really been doing anything on your druid.
It is impossible to press this button 15 times per second. Even if you have infinite rage, you can press it maximum 2 times per second.
This ability is for DotC. Moreover, it is often free.
ToI doesn’t act like a breeze and doesn’t look like nothing. It’s one of the main sources of damage when it comes to Moon Bear.
The bear has powerful AoE burst damage and no problems with aggro.
The bear has no decent off-healing talents, and has decent CC talents
I’ll also add that the bear is a spec that almost no one knows how to play, and doesn’t even know how to play correctly.
but, at the same time, almost everyone, when this spec is mentioned, immediately smiles and says that it is the simplest tank, which even a newbie can easily handle.
I’m with you on this. I expressed this already on a different forum. The moment I realised how boring Guardian visually is when I started delving with my VDH… It’s not about viability, other tanks just feel better to play.
I have not played the live game since Dragonflight, but in every xpac I’ve ever played Guardian is mind-numbingly boring to play. Everything about it feels bad
You are being deliberately obtuse. You know exactly what I meant. Pressing the same button 2 times a second takes up too much of our rotation and feels awful.
Citation needed? Bear druid has had Maul 2 decades longer than hero talents existed. It’s our iconic ability and we grief ourselves by pressing it
It is by far the most insultingly underwhelming ability in the entire game. It has no animation.
Every tank has aggro problems while gathering because tank damage is garbage and bear has the worst damage of any tank. Do you even play the game?
Vortex + Typhoon for a 0.5 second stop and Incap Roar for another 0.5 second stop. Incredible. This is either ragebait or you haven’t played any other tank in your life
and you? why press the button so often if you can bind it to the mouse wheel and play peacefully?
it’s just that now there are talents, and with the necessary talents we don’t grief ourselves by pressing it.
I agree with the animation, but this ability is very effective.
the bear is one of the most convenient tanks for gathering mob packs. and he has almost no problems with agro.
how do you play a bear if you have problems with agro?
compare with a monk, for example. in control only two tanks stand out - VDH and protpal. because of the mass silence.
ps.
I looked at your bear build without blood frenzy, and the stat priority on mastery. In principle, it is clear why there are problems with dps and agro)
