Guess who get access to shadowlands alpha first wave?

Well maybe I should go date a blizzard employee too. Since I am not a streamer …

People selected for alphatesting are usually high end players, it’s when beta starts that the clownfest happens and Fortnite streamers who played WoW for 2 weeks at the start of classic get access

why would they not allow streamers access first, its the best way to get all of the information out there, and also create a buzz for the game, people will start watching and increase the viewing metrics for wow. alot of streamers are also people that care deeply about the game and have a very good understanding of things, at least those streamers who are raiders, and will be more likely to give good feedback than a random player

because streamers do not bug and beta test. Let those streamer clowns access later waves for hype. But not during actual bug and beta test period.

Man, we have all this great half-finished content, riddled with bugs and incomplete systems, how can we get this valuable information out to be public? The people need to know!

I would like to say some words.

Maybe stop to invite only streamers or friends. We are not making friends here, we are making great game again so invite veterans and randoms instead of streamers and friends. It explains why most of expansions were bad, but I still love ALL.

It is just my thought, thats why it happens.

He’s one of the few who just reports broken stuff, doesn’t do anything else than that. THere’s so much more of the beta testers who neither report broken stuff, bugs or provide any feedback who keep getting it so, it very much still ends up in a “luck of the draw” situation.

That’s not saying providing feedback won’t INCREASE your chances of getting in though, but going full on the mentality of prolific posters is :cow2::poop:

Thank you, I try to be constructive, but also won’t hold back from calling out bs or stating opinions. Good luck to you as well!

Yeah, hence I the “usually” :stuck_out_tongue: some get into alpha, some don’t. But most of the time its beta that’s more open to the public so to speak.

I have beta’d and may do again if offered the chance (wasn’t for BFA  ) The only reason I beta is to report bugs and stuff that doesn’t work so I tend to stick to small areas as I don’t want too much of it spoiled. I’ve been beta-ing stuff for many years - I think my first was Pharaoh (an Impressions Games citybuilder from long, long ago.) I still don’t get why streamers get to beta.

Free publicity and product awareness. Plus if someone’s going to make a fool of themselves while showing off an incomplete product, it’s better if it’s some nobody with a web camera than an employee. Less likely to get a “Don’t you guys have phones?” situation.

Wait in line. My bf and I are looking for some for a while now.
Those darned mounts don’t drop…

My guess is that many of them are. :stuck_out_tongue:

Probably because streamers (and YouTubers) can show the content to a wider audience than who typically has access, and are able to gather the feedback from what their stream thinks about the content, or the comments on their videos.

I know it is popular to deride streamers for getting access early, but I think one cannot deny that there is some kind of good feedback that can be gathered content creators who show folks what the content is like.

True, but at alpha and most of the beta stage, it’s a case of reporting bugs in content that isn’t ready to be played therefore people will get the wrong idea from what is streamed.

In the past I would have agreed for sure. However, I tend to give the benefit of the doubt to the community these days when they give feedback about Alpha/Beta being broken in some way, especially given the Azerite disaster of a system we got with BFA and also the multiple red flags we got from Warcraft 3 Reforged’s beta. Lots of people expressed concerns about WC3:R, and they were shut down with “Its just beta, Live will be better” comments.

Can be purchased on Steam these days. And it works fine on Windows 10

I noticed that they have redone Theme Hospital too.

Was it that Egypt version of the Caesar series?

Yes.

They remade it?

No, it was just made to work on Windows 10 by GOG.
