Welcome to the Maw. Expect zero communication or setting things right from Blizzard’s side.
Basically, I think that everyone has already said goodbye to the hope for a successful outcome. We flew by like plywood over Paris!
Is there a Community/Lounge or something for the affected (and sympathizer) People?
Doubt it, many whom were affected (including me): can’t be arsed to log-in any more or have had their subscription run out and have left the game.
As to the why can’t I enjoy the game any more:
Violated trust (anything can be deleted)
The treatment us customers are getting.
To me Blizzard is death. They could rescue their name by action… but I highly doubt that’s going to happen.
You can’t just have data loss and steal €100+ (as in no refund for expansion + game time) for people to be okay with and thinking they’ll buy your other games. Some might, not me though.
My last update of the ticket to Support:
We’re now past 3 months and nothing has happened and I understand that this issue is beyond control of the support team. I guess this is all about math: X money to restore and compensate vs Y money to loose the players because they have certainly lost me from Retail, TWW and all new Blizzard games among many others until this is settled properly.
The time and effort lost in the guild bank wipe is just… ghastly…
So, I have a simple question yours can at least check with the developers or whom it may concern: Will anything, any comp happen at all or not?
Came here to chime on this thread as the same thing happened to my guild. Not much to say here that has not already been said, but for me it was 7 Tabs about 90-100% full, gone. Quite literally everything gone and close to nothing restored. Maybe a few cloths and even that felt like a silly attempt at restoration.
Granted, few tabs was dedicated to crafting mats, that you could potentially just buy off the AH, but even among those there were things that would take significant amount of gold to buy back. However there were also other stuff, like pets / mounts / recipes / mogs, some of those that even I didn’t learn in hopes for getting some gold off of those rare world drops… look how that turned out. Thing that bothers me most tho, is that there was, now unattainable items from past event in there, no way for me to get them back. I started in early TBC and for 18 years have passed since I started gathered all of those items. See ya
I agree with the statement that blizzard could replace every single item, if they wanted to. Not much of a tech guru myself, but even so, I’m rather confident in saying that they must have had snapshots or other similar systems in place this ever happened. Well now it happened… and it is painfully clear that blizzard or M$ could restore items that even I can see from in-game logs not being withdrawn, but they simply CBA. I’m guessing that new mount in store already replaced all the income they momentarily lost on players that checked out
What I still found truly interesting is that no major streamers, people in YT or any of the bigger community managed sites never covered this issue or at least until the response came from blue or even now. I find it extremely suspicious, yeah yeah… I sound like those conspiracy theorists, but you have to wonder. Why the complete silence from basicly any bigger name until blizzards graced us with their announcement.
And blizzards response to me? The same that almost everyone here has already gotten.
“We feel your frustration (Going to be honest here, No… you do not, infact you have no clue) and we are sorry for your inconvenience bla bla blaa, this must be terrible bla bla bla, but this is now “resolved” so… thank you for your nonexistent patience and we are extremely pleased to look forward for your continued support for our game!”
Lost 5 tabs of older stuff, used to raise alt characters mostly but don’t really want to waste time going and collecting again.
So far the response from blizzard has been terrible and basically dismissive of their paying customers.
I’m sure they won’t have time for any of our problems! Too much has happened in the real world, in light of the news after the election. The agenda will completely change, so their problems will be completely incomparable with ours.
Almost 2 months since the topic started told us that our bank wil be restored, at least parts of it. So far nothing. Just lies everywhere. This company has in past years turned into a cash machine not caring in anyway for their costumers. I hate to say but after 20 years it was fun but you thieving bunch are not worth my trust and money.
lost millions in the auctionhouse bug, blizzard just loled at players for that one as well
Just keeping you informed. Another week has passed, but I still haven’t received a single letter with compensation for the wipe of my two guild banks. Something like that. I continue to wait for this promise to be fulfilled.
P.S. Oh yeah. I’ve seen items temporarily disappear from my resource bag twice in the last week. First, the wriggling specimens disappeared. But they reappeared about a day later. Then the forge flukes disappeared. They reappeared shortly after.
Well, I have experience for quite a time if you post just a part of a stack in your inventory on AH, the whole stack might disappear for up to day. That can be pretty inconvenient at times. Have reported it since long time ago but nada is happeneing and wasted ton of time doublechecking that it wasn’t the gameinstall, addons or whatever else.
The reply, quoting:
I understand that you want to know about the compensatoin for you items missing from your Guild Bank in TWW.
We completely understand how upsetting it must be to lose your items from the guild bank, and we want to express our sincere empathy for the situation you’re facing. We know how much effort and time you’ve invested, and we are truly sorry for the frustration this has caused.
Our developers are actively looking into the matter and we cannot guarantee that all items have been returned, and this was not a complete restoration for every player affected. At this time, we cannot confirm if any compensation will be provided, as this is still being evaluated. If any compensation is determined, we will share this information through our official channels. Remeber that restorations may be visible in the Guildmaster character’s mail node depending on if they are received and / or looted yet.
We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to look into this issue. Don’t hesitate to contact us in the future.
I guess that means we’re shafted and nada is going to happen.
I do also find it like some other have mentioned, really suspicious that no major publisher of game reviews and news has put a day on this.
Why?
That’s a really strange reply.
I don’t know whether they just didn’t understand what they were saying, or if they genuinely meant it … but reading it suggests that (a) they’re still looking into it (" Our developers are actively looking into the matter"), (b) they may not have finished returning missing items (" we cannot guarantee that all items have been returned") and (c) they’re still considering whether compensation will be given (" At this time, we cannot confirm if any compensation will be provided, as this is still being evaluated. If any compensation is determined, we will share this information through our official channels").
This is the type of reply that has caused so many issues because it seems to contradict what other ticket replies have said, and what we have assumed due to the complete lack of response from Blizzard here following that initial terse “oh well, soz” post.
Blizzard need to work out how to have all their staff giving out the same, correct, message, rather than just muddying the waters. They need to have someone who actually knows what they’re talking about, to come out and tell us outright what exactly is currently happening, and what exactly is going to happen.
The responses are tailored to ensure that as many affected players as possible stay subbed for as long as possible. The post from blizz at the top of this thread does exactly that and any cs agent that is doing the job blizz have set for them are doing the same, remember, the 3rd party company that provide customer service for blizzard have most likely been told:- keep the issue under wraps, reduce fallout, retain as many customers as possible and under no circumstances allow this to taint the expansion release or either of the anniversary celebrations.
Hi! I am also one of many that lost guild bank items and not only from guild banks. I have lost items from personal chars bank also. Crafting regent for all professions, gear, pets, recepies and more, collected for 20 years. Got nothing restored at all. Support answered that it is not priority to fix that, the priority is to unstuck players and fix battlenet issues. As not priority they say they will look into it further and it needs deep digging to se what happened. For me this shuld have been a priority becouse it affects many loyal players. I tol them that they shuld at least compesate, and expressed a wish of what i wanted. All i got was an appologie witch is not enough at all
To me it is clear: A restore is NOT going to happen. A comp? Maybe. but will probably be a stingy, feeble one, a spit/idc one.
To me? I expect 2 mill retail gold, 1 year free sub and free TWW. If anything less? Then we are OUT of anything Blizzard do or sell forever, no matter what. 20 years down the John…
I asked for the trader´s gildrd brontosaurus mount a small compesation yhat they did not agrred to
Sat here since this started with 3 banks wiped - no items restored, no apology mail or anything. One of these banks I checked today as I had some pets sat in there - and they are now transformed to ‘This was never available to players’ and vanish if I try to remove them.
Despite reporting this and replying to threads which have now been locked, I continued to play as I run a Mythic raiding guild and am here for my team. Guess I continued to think in the back of my mind that one day, maybe, Blizz would restore all my missing items. I will say that my motivation to do stuff outside of raiding with my team has been affected by this.
Seeing this happen today… I have zero faith now in guild banks - and even in a personal bank, wb bank… or even bags… what is the point of doing anything in wow if items you work for vanish at the drop of a hat.
15 years playing this game and I cannot describe how disappointed I am at the continued failure of the company I pay money, to give me any reassurance that the effort I put in won’t be wiped out. I watch the devs and Ion giving interviews about all the new shiny stuff they are doing - and just one acknowledgement from them on this issue would go a long way.
I lost a full tab of Adamantite Ore, the guild log shows the items being deposited but never removed yet the lot was gone. Not sure if anything else went missing
