Wait, you mean 5k overlapping houses placed at the gates of Stormwind and Ironforge, effectively preventing all non-Flying passage in either direction is a bad idea? 
Seriously, as much as the community in general likes to troll, the only “safe” place to allow us to build non instanced houses is on floating rocks in Nagrand
Yeah, or some new zone created for that purpose specifically.
But any non-instanced version is going to be problematic because you simply run into the ‘space’ issue. Space will run out. Then what?
Anyway, I have no doubt in my mind that the housing we’re getting next year will be instanced. 
There will be one building somewhere like stormwind which when you enter is instanced to be your space.

I would prefer only guild housing with different quarter in different cities.
The problem of WoW is dev focusing on solo 8/8 LFRist players.
They need to place different area in all of azeroth for guilde housing only.
With restrictions
X members (different accounts)
Achievment in guild 8/8 hm / 1800 rbg guild, etc or other restrictions
Focusing on “how can we satisfy the solo player ?” is very bad
Guild housing with 3 guild vault for loot
Guilds need to be greater Again

20 years into WoW, and those types of players are finally getting something and now they’re ‘focussing on solo players’ ?
The majority of WoW’s content is still multiplayer focussed. That is the reality.
And honestly, it’s about time solo players got something.

And to top it of with the neighbourhoods- MVPs homes have a green hue to then so they can easly be recognised.
Better hire a Gnome to make you some automated defences and “door ringers be gone” trinkets.

Which doesn’t mean you have to play with others. It just means there are other people also playing in the same world as you. How and if you interact with them, is up to the player.
And I’m happy about that.
I don’t want to be in a guild. I don’t want to have to have drama in my gaming experience; because, let’s be honest… At some point there will be drama in a guild.

Perhaps nothing quite as grand as a city but a guild hall would be a good idea to go along with housing. Always been an advocate of this concept.
And Tah, not all guilds are drama. Not saying there’s never drama but it should be something that the core of the guild dismisses and doesn’t really tolerate. But you’re going to struggle with guilds who are trying to “break the top 500” and other crap like that…they’ve never lasted. I’m an old man (relatively) and I’ve been through many guilds and seen many implode. If people (like me) who are good for the guild start getting chopped in the ambition drive then I have always observed the guild is not long for the world and implosion usually imminent. If a guild is going to achieve, it really needs to be organic.

That said, solo players likely also outnumber those that prefer group content by a factor of probably 5:1 if not more judging by RaiderIO statistics…
