Firstly hope I’m posting in the correct place sorry if I’m not!
So I guess this completely depends on realm and population so not everyone’s having this problem but I’m actively recruiting daily in game over chat, signed up to 3 different recruiting websites and a few discord channel and I don’t get much interest at all.
We are currently 2/9Mythic nothing hardcore but I have to pug as I don’t have a solid 20 each week and down to 1 raid a week as I cant get any interest on the raid finder on 2nd raid night if the pugs don’t turn up!
I asking to update the in game guild finder as I don’t think its been updated since it was put in, if you search on it its just full of out of date guild recruitment messages most of which are of guilds no longer active. Also silly problems like out of the whole recruit message that we can make you only see the first 15 words so you don’t even see the whole message, I can only select one option also , Social, dungeons or raids but why cant I have a Social M+ raiding guild?
Now this may not solve my problem but I’m sure it would help! I also find I’m not the only guild leader with this problem, I’m sure more AOTC guilds would progress into Mythic raiding if they had the numbers.

The tool is terrible but yea, its not going to solve your problem.
Recruiting is hard, especially since the message you’ll likely hear is “why would I join your guild when I could probably pug more bosses quite simply?”
I’ve just looked at your wowprogress blurb and you’re in that kind of no mans land where you try to be a bit of everything and end up having no clear message other than “2/9M isn’t working”.
Your message should be “looking for 20 warm bodies that are reliable and decent players and people”. Instead we get a long list of classes that you’d prefer - instantly making everyone not one of those classes dismiss you as an option
(even though it says all welcome at the end, it makes it feel like a “eh, you’ll have to do I suppose” situation whether you intended that or not)
Not trying to be mean or overly critical, I ran a guild that got a lot of CE’s over the years and kicked it in when we started getting to the point where I think your guild may be finding itself.
To raid mythic is a proper commitment, especially in terms of admin. Very few teams do it for the lols, they do it to progress - and you aren’t.
And yes, for years the biggest barrier to entry has been the 20 person fixed size. I’d like to dip my fingers into mythic because HC just isn’t that hard. I’m not prepared to do all the crap around it anymore though - and your recruitment problems are essentially down to the fact that there are more and more people like me everyday - not because the IG tool is a bit poo.
Recruiting for guilds will only be harder and harder because guilds are not giving that much value vs time * effort invested.
Especially when you plan of working through Mythic difficulty. Players have a lot of gameplay and management options outside of the guild, so demand is less that supply.
And it doesn’t have anything to do with more raid difficulties.
Normal and Heroic flex but having a steady 20 man roster is a nightmare. Our guild dropped into raid break mode very quickly this season compared to last. Too many on their holidays and others just lost interest.
All you can do is advertise on the third party locations, the in game tool has never really been much use. I think I use it more on my bank guild to invite my own alts to join.
All you can do is keep using the main sites for recruitment, wowprog/raider io/warcraftlogs, there is also discord and the realm forums. There is probably a reddit somewhere too.
