Guild name ideas

Fast & Furryous ?

I had a guild, “Illicit Enterprises” under my character “Clandestine” as a Bank Char.

Took a long break from WoW after Legion to discover my Guild was transferred to someone else while Clandestine was subsequently kicked, losing all my stuff in the Guild Bank…

The irony! Had a lot of pretty rare gear for transmogs in it along with rare pets… probably worth 20m altogether.

Let this be a lesson to kick people who signed the guild charter once created!

I’m an aggressive player, guild name needs to reflect that.

One of the most thankless tasks ever… Gm put me in charge while she took a break, then I left after disagreements and when me and the wife made our own. Where we made the mistake of handing over control before we emigrated and when we got back the person was… less. than inclined to give it back.

Which was a shame because I promptly called out the dogs of war (aka old guild friends and other gms we partnered with) and our guild was rubbed out of existence.

Did I feel guilty or do I feel guilty now?

Not in the slightest.

Never been guild leader, but have been part of founding new guilds back in the day. Names i remember is:

Uranicus Vires (dont remember what the meaning was )
Tryst
Children of Gaia

Roughly translated it’s Heavenly Slime or I think they used the more phonetically sounding “Virus”

Classic Latin is different than modern day Latin but that’s roughly what it meant.

Pretty sure it wasnt slime we were intending it to be :joy: but its many years ago, this was back in wotlk.

Vires could be translate in English like : ‘power’ ‘force’. (It’s from ‘Viri’=Man).

Then ‘Uranium’s Power’.

If uranicus was heavenly then it was probably heavenly power that was the thought behind the name  sounds more plausible then heavenly slime :joy:

Just seen a guild name “Wear the Fox’s Hat” which made me chuckle.

If you find yourself in the position where a guild name is taken on your server, here is a solution you can use which may not be common knowledge to everyone:

  1. Search the official WoW EU webpage for the guild name and find out approximately how long it has been inactive.
  2. If it’s longer than 180 days (I believe it is) you can submit a ticket to have the name freed up. A guild is considered inactive when no members have logged on during that period.
  3. I have done this for numerous names I’ve wanted since MoP and it works even today. Be aware that although the name might show up on the official WoW website it might not be available to use anymore, because Blizzard may have blocked it after the inactive guild was created.

Hex Therapy

Seems appropriate for a band of shaman.

I wonder if a guild called “Antistar” exists. It’s a cool name, after a song I like. I’d make a bank guild out of it if I was ever motivated to go through the boring process.

‘Knocking on Heaven’s Door’

Perfect for guilds bad at PvP

“esteemed gentlemen”
" the funny farm"
“national lampoons guild”
“gnomeland security”
“nightmare on elf street”
“we pee in moonwells”
“lordaeron philarmonic orchestra”
" Razorfen Downs Syndrome "
"exalted with the ladies "
“spaceballs the guild”
“sunken temple pilots”
“Flat Azeroth Conventions”.

Best guild name I’ve sported was “Rawr”, though that was in another game. I was guild leader at times but that’s because the guild leader role kinda wandered from member to member and no one really gave a damn. We played and had fun and created a name for ourselves in PvP.
