Gurubashi Catacombs

I know SoD is most likely over regarding any bigger content, however i wanna lift an old idea that blizz worked on.

This idea was Gurubashi Catacombs(info on wowpedia). it was a 5v5 deathmatch and they pointed out these problems

  • Objectives are key to the core gameplay of battlegrounds.
  • Arena idea was cool, but battlegrounds play differently.
  • Arena maps need to be small which Gurubashi was not.
  • WoW isn’t a First Person Shooter.
  • Deathmatch doesn’t work as well in WoW PvP.
  • It’s not fun being the healer in Single Elimination DM.

I’d like to challenge this and say they might’ve be wrong. Looking at Dark and Darker.

A solution to some of their problems would be to add more than 2 teams. that’d make the rogue running away alone for a clothie/healer very risky, cause leaving their team behind might kill his own team cause it might be a 5vs4 against another team.

The size of the arena would be good in this case. in order to atleast have a chance to eject from being squeezed against 2 teams.

All these are true tbh especially in Vanilla pvp…
If they dont nerf some abilities like 30+ seconds sheep saps and more its just not fun unbalanced game where only these classes will win.
Vanilla is super unbalanced for any small scale pvp and not fun at all, no1 will need a warlock for example when u have boomies ,shamans and hunters and its super unfun when u just sit for a 30+ seconds sheep or sap while ur team dies lol

Sure, however adding several teams changes that dynamic.
these 30 second sheep/Sap should hold true in normal BGs aswell then.
it was a 5v5, not 3. so having priests to dispel sheep would be crucial.

  • Arena maps need to be small which Gurubashi was not.

Do not hold true, its depending on how many people you add to map.
