Hello, so as the title saids I need help choosing a class, I’ve recently quit playing Guild Wars 2 and started playing wow and I’m absolutely loving the game, but I’m struggling to find a class that suites the playstyle I’m looking for and fell in love with in Gw2.
i used to play D/D Elementalist in Gw2 for those that are familiar with the game, for those that are not D/D Ele is basically a bruiser class with decent self healing and damage and good mobility, I know the two games are completely different when it comes to combat etc, but I’m hoping to find something that fills the same kind of role, I’m mostly interested in PvP, any recommendations are appreciated!

Ahhhh… try playing a shaman.

Well logically the elementalist equivalent would be mage. But since mages aren’t really as versatiles as them I’d say a Shaman would be a good bet : elements (fire, lightning, totems, melee spec, healing abilities etc.)
Best is to check some videos and do a trial version of the classes that will give you a good idea of what the class can do.
But in my eyes Shaman would be the best based on the D/D elem. last I checked they don’t have an amazing mobility unlike elem who got some tools, so you might wanna think about it.

These are quite hard to come by now. WW monk is reasonable at laying the smack down, but self-healing is pretty lacklustre, and you need to get out of combat before you try it. Karma helps, but a wise opponent will just stop hitting you and heal themselves when they see it.
Tank demon hunter has obscene self-healing, but obviously it is the tank spec and won’t deliver them deeps. Same for blood death knights.
Possibly… possibly hunter. One of their specs has an inbuilt leech %, such that they constantly get drip-fed health. It’s not on-demand or bursty, but it is there.
Or right now, maybe even elemental shaman? I assume they have at least 1 heal, and they will be heavy on intellect and crit, so it will actually be worth something. Recent ghost wolf buffs have given the class much needed mobility to the point where other classes have complained about it.
You can never go wrong with Death Knight xD

D/D Elementalist is not a Bruiser-class! Not with that disgusting burst! Hahaha!
Welcome from GW2, dude! I love that game but I gotta say that WoW is rather mechanically different to GW2. Less focus on mobility, positioning and avoiding damage and more focus away from knife-edge combat that some GW2 PvP can revolve around!
The equivalent to Elementalist would be Mage or Shaman. Mage has the more “pure” elemental role, but focuses solely on one element per spec - Shaman has a bit more spread but still no where near as much flexibility as Elementalis (especially Weaver!)
Maybe you’d like to try something like Windwalker Monk? Feral Druid? Havoc Demon Hunter? Or Any Rogue spec if you are just wanting something that is generally close ranged and/or melee.
Balance Druid. Elemental Shaman or any Mage Spec might be your cup of tea if you like longer ranged combat with similar/decent mobility.
You should look up montages/guides on YT to check how each spec plays out!
Maybe a Druid ? It got EVERYTHING.
one of the only classes that let you be anythin.
A Healer ? Check.
A Tank ? Check.
A Ranged dps ? Check.
A Melee dps ? Check.
And no matter which one you choose, you can have some limited skills from the others as well as some more skills from 1 other specs using a Talent.
For example if you choose a Ranged DPS then pick the talent from Restoration ( healer ) spec, u can have 3 healing skill ( active ) which can give u nice heal plus a Passive self heal.
the variation in druid is great and the mobility is as well, you can change to cat form and dash or travel form etc even in PvP battles for some quick speed.
personally I Main Restoration ( Heal ) in Raids/Dungeons while solo as Bear (Tank/Guardian) for World content and World PvP, the damage is still quite nice and u can pull a LOT and AoE them down, so it’s fast as well.
Enhance shaman has that battlemage playstyle (feels cool to play also), even though its kind of weak in pvp right now because of certain mechanics, but elemental shamans are doing just fine right now, so i’d just roll shaman.
Try Shaman! It’s not the same, but I think it’s the closest you can come.
Hope you continue to enjoy the game!

Try fury warrior, easy spec to play and feels really good. Has alot of heals, but it’s more lifesteal than actively casting selfheals.
he wants to pvp guys , stop recommending him shaman lmao
I think Moonkin/feral druid is what you are looking for.
Both are basically the same, but moonkin is ranged and feral is melee.
You might want to try Havoc Demon Hunter as well. While they are conceptually totally two different things, gameplay wise they have some similarities whit Fel Rush, Eye Beam and Immolation Aura. DH’s are also very mobile and they are good at avoiding damage.
I did the same thing, but the other way around. I went back to GW2 which I have not played in 4 years and I am loving it. I have a level 80 D/D Elementalist there but it is quite challenging to play in end game content esp. with bad gear, so I am playing a Guardian and Revenant now

As someone who also plays/played Gw 2(awsome game) i would say that your best bet would indeed be shaman. We dont have weapon based speck/or talents like in Gw2.But if you are looking for a class that can perform as a Range/Caster,melee,support/healing that would be shaman as closses to Elementalist.
I my self was always more of enginner and mesmer regarding Proffesions.
It is shame with ArenaNet and all of that, the game lost alot of support and inside company problems, also alot of talent/older devs left the company.(we have the same situation here, but nvm that)
One word,Cdew.
Uhh what are these buffs you talk about? Ghost wolf has been the same since forever. Now we only got some passife self healing in wolf form with PvP talents and one azerite trait.
