I’m confused. Isn’t the point of the memorial to acknowledge his death as canon? What’s your logic behind waiting ?

1.Usually we go with when the last LFR wing starts, which is when the Argus thing showed in the sky. That’s what Blizz uses as the trigger to actually change the game world.
2.It makes no sense that half the server would be celebrating in Pandaria when the Zandalari king just got murdered in a massive attack
I mean this is a HUGE server wide event and announcing it with a 4 days prior notice seems off. People probably had stuff planned weeks in advance.

This was because it made sense, the end boss was Kil’jaeden and Argus was released into our world after the end boss. Rastakhan dies in the Second wing and you can see where I’m going with this.

If people want to roam around the world because they aren’t happy with how the Horde is currently then become enraged when they can’t go to a current time Horde event then that is entirely on them and if they desire to break character and attend/make a trial for it. This is no fault of anyone but the people in self-imposed exile who aren’t happy with the current Horde.

If vast amounts of people are unable to attend and the Organizer is made well aware then I am more than sure they would gladly change the schedule of the event however the majority of people from the talks I’ve had over Discord are entirely fine with the current event time/notice and see no reason to change it. If you still wish to organize a large funeral for him then organize one yourself, this is no problem of Chooks.
This has the potential to be a large server wide event, yes, if people attend and that’s exactly the point of public announcements like this, to garner interest and give people a good roleplay initiative to take part in.

I don’t appreciate the tone of your post so I’ll bow out, but a server wide event shouldn’t be announced 3 days in advance, on the same day as another big server wide event. Have fun.
My apologies if the tone of my post put you off, Kelduril, for that was neither my intention nor my understanding of how I constructed that sentence. It was in regards to the fact that you said this was to be a large server-wide event which it indeed has the potential to be, if people attend. This is an initiative to give people some good Roleplay opportunities to bounce off, nothing more.

You can literally just ignore the event.
If you disagree with Chyou-ka’s planning so much, just plan your own funeral in a few weeks time when the final raid tier is released. I really don’t understand the big deal, my friend. No one is forcing you to attend, or even really acknowledge the event’s existence.

I’m completely selfish here as I both want to cover the memorial and the tournament for the Orgrimmar Oracle and I’m also reluctant to post headlines like “Rastakhan murdered by the Alliance!” if half the server doesn’t recognise this as being the current canon. It seems, however, that a great deal of people (going by the size of the guilds that have responded and the network they usually engage in) operates out of the current lfr as canon now.
Man, that was a wall of text, sorry.

Why not let people hop on from the Celestial Tournament (For those they wish to do so), stay for the funeral, then go back to Pandaria?
If the reason for that not being possible is “Muh canon and travel time for characters”, then I would like to point out the fact that NPCs tend to travel vast distances very quickly by default.
Oh, just to add this:
I think you’re really overestimating the attendance rate of people on the server for an event.
Presuming that Kelduril meant half the active RPers on Hordeside, I’d say it could happen. Some events have a very high attendance. Might not be thousands but still shouldn’t be so easily disregarded.
