Guild Background
GrimSoul Legion is a day-one vanilla guild originally formed on Burning Legion-EU. During AQ the guild split and players went on to clear Naxx with guilds such as Nihilum and Destiny. Reformed in Wrath of the Lich King we merged with a group of Norwegian players resulting in a rock-solid core of nearly a full 25man roster with very few being replaced all the way through the expansion.
At the beginning of Cataclysm massive changes started to be implemented and altering the game to a point where we no longer felt at home. After clearing the first tier people started to grow apart from the new WoW and we ended it on a win. But even though the community’s WoW era was over, the spirit and players of GrimSoul went on and is still going strong to this day; keeping in touch, playing games online and much more.
Come Classic WoW we will be returning on a pvp-realm, but due to the majority of us now being in our 30s with real life obligations, our raiding schedule will be more casual than in the past. Despite this, we will still be clearing all the content the game has to offer and require our members to be well-prepared for raids, be on time and make the best of the time we have.
It has always been the philosophy of Grimsoul to take in people and make them as much a part of the community as any other. We’ve always had a very high average skill and knowledge base within the guild. Not because it has been required, but because people genuinely care about the game and the people they play with. Pugging alt runs back in Wrath usually ended up in full 10-man and at times even 25-man guild raids doing it for giggles.
Everyone contributes and it always results in a thriving, active guild where you get to see all the content at a solid pace and we will continue that practise in Classic.
We will be running 40mans on our mandatory raid nights and 20man will be set up accordingly as optional events, along with pvp premades. If you think this sounds as awesome as we’d like to think it is, I believe you have found a home amongst a social, mature and fun group of people!

Will be set up by officers whenever there is people and most likely run by various people on the sidelines as the lockout is only 3 days.
Loot System
We will be using loot council for loot distribution. We used this system in Wrath and Cataclysm with resounding success. With 40 people and less drops per boss kill there goes much more work into it. Essentially, this system comes down to trust, transparency and game knowledge. Our players have always been good at passing and putting the guild first, to the point where the raiders pretty much ran the loot themselves.
To summarize the way we go about it;
- What benefits the guild the most.
- Rank-wise, no one, including officers, have priority on loot. The only exception being trials.
- Focus on fair and equal distribution, with common sense in mind. Fx. main tanks will have priority on loot and Thunderfury and no one will ever be given another class’ BiS unless no one needs it.
What we expect from you
That you can make our Thursday raid, have a good attitude and attend with a genuine will to progress. We might be on a casual schedule, but we still take our raiding seriously and expect you to do the same.
We do not expect anyone to have cleared Naxx or even have vanilla experience. Your attitude and willingness to learn is enough and there are many experienced people here to learn from.
What You can expect from us
A very strong and experienced core. Not just among the officers, but nearly half the roster. We started out with 20~ members who were in Grimsoul at some point throughout Vanilla and/or Wrath. Most of which have been in very competitive guilds.
Our officers all have years of experience in both WoW and other games, ranging from guild leading, raid leading, managing websites, analyzing logs, min/maxing characters, writing class guides and much more.
