INTRODUCTION
------------------------
The Blacksteel Fangs were formerly a military regiment of the Horde, founded by Khrova Blacksteel. Her unfortunate death, though, led to it being dissolved, its resources reallocated to other regiments and legions.
Her last protégé, Osh’gora Warhowl, a young and stubborn Warsong warrior was the only one left to pick up the remains of her beloved mentor’s banner. Unwilling to let her be forgotten, she decided to gather like-minded warriors, so that the Fangs could yet carve their names into the annals of history.
FAQ
1. What’s the concept of the guild?
The Blacksteel Fangs formerly were an independent but Horde loyal band of mercenaries, which is now being integrated into the Horde military proper. This transitional phase is one of the major overarching plots that the guild is going through at the moment, while at the same time, they are being sent on regular missions by Horde command.2. What characters are you looking for?
Each and every character of any race that is strictly loyal to the Horde is welcome, basically. The only restricted class is Death Knight who we deem not being a good fit. With warlocks, on the other hand, it heavily depends, it’s a case by case thing. Contact us to figure it out.3. Are there uniforms?
No.4. Who do I contact if I’m interested in joining or still have questions?
Just message any member in-game or on Discord. If said member is not an officer, they will notify one. If nobody’s online in-game, send an in-game letter to “Oshgora”.5. How does recruitment work?
The first step is an OOC conversation where we will ask you a few basic questions, because we are now a bit more careful about who is actually joining us. If the vibes are there, we will figure out a setup for your character to join us IC too, before you receive your guild invitation.6. What are the next steps after recruitment and how do I progress?
Once you join, you will be a “Prospect” for a few weeks. This means that, IC as well as OOC, we are first gauging whether you and the guild are meshing well. We are a very chatty and social guild, so we want to uphold a certain atmosphere in our Discord and guildchat. After that, your character will become a “Reservist”. This is basically an added trial period of a month or two, where your character’s skills are being evaluated, while at the same time also keeping a bit of an eye on your activity to see if you are really committed not only to the guild but to the character you chose to play, before they are called up into the guild’s main body.7. Does being a “Prospect” and “Reservist” mean I cannot participate in certain activities? What is the difference?
There is no difference in terms of activities. As a prospect and reservist, your character will be involved in our events and social RP as much as the rest of the guild’s members. We’ve had people join us and be very enthusiastic in the short-term, only to become inactive and vanish from the RP scene after their first few weeks. And because we don’t want to our full-member ranks to become a graveyard for inactive alts, we have decided to pad out our trial period.8. How do your events work?
We actually use our own homebrewed dice system, along with some pen and paper elements (perks, dice bonuses, etc.) It’s very easy to get into, and the rules are reposted frequently in the Raid chat during events, so people do not need to scroll up constantly.
GUILD RULES
§1 Adult members - Guild members must be at least 18.
§2 Inclusivity - Our guild is a safe space for marginalized people. We don’t tolerate the use of slurs, bigotry or hateful rhetoric.
§3 Respect - Be mindful of your fellow guild members, not everybody has the same humor or background.
§4 Anti-AI - It’s not art. It’s theft.
§5 Guild representation - Be mindful of your public behavior, because it directly reflects back onto the guild.
§6 Rehabilitation - Everybody gets a second, or even a third chance, if you own up to an honest mistake and try to be better.
RANK STRUCTURE
Trial ranks
- Prospect: The first rank anybody receives. Prospects will be evaluated according to their behavior, to see whether they mesh well with the other guild members or not. Usually this happens in a shorter time frame (2-3 weeks).
- Reservist: The reserve is to gauge what kind of role a player wants to take on with their character, as well as to see whether they are really committed to their character and the guild, or if it was just short-term motivation. (~2 months)
Once a proper role and task (Infantry, cavalry, scouts, etc.) has been found for a reservist, and he has earned his stay by sweating and bleeding with the warband for a while, they are accepted into the warbands main body.
Soldiers
- Strongarm: The standard soldier of the warband. As the band keeps growing, they will be divided in packs.
- Enforcer: Soldiers who have shown distinctive prowess in battle and good decision making.
- Iron Guard: Soldiers who regularly shine with their combat ability and deeds. In the absence of officers, they are to take charge.
If an Iron Guard has shown exceptional skill and talent, not only fighting, but also in their ability to lead, they can be considered for officer ranks. This will of course happen within the framework of a trial period.
Officers
- Standard bearers: A non-commissioned officer that is responsible for the pack’s internal organization and armory.
- Pack leader: Officers who are the bridge between the warband’s command and the soldiers. They lead the packs in battle.
Command
- Overseer: Closest confidants of Warhowl who in her absence can take command during operations and missions.
- Commander: When in doubt, the commander has the final say.
