When the forge starts to glow,
Where to go? Where should you go?
Run away, run and hide,
When the shadows begin to grow,
Where to go? Where should you go?
Run somewhere far,
Wait, you are too late, here they are.
See there the women warriors bathed in light?
See the men in the shadows of the night?
You should know, you should know,
When the forge starts to glow,
The Ebon stars are near.
For the last five miles of their approach they had been followed. Ilythyrra had felt their presence for a while now, even if he had not seen their approach. The blue coats that followed him had been oblivious to how little of the element of surprise they carried with them. They had no understanding of the risk that they were taking. But of course they didnât, it was a typical trait of the blink lives, strangers to the land they once knew, puffed up with their own arrogance and sense of power. Ignorant is what it was, they were only alive because he and his fellow people had guided them here. Yet on the same side of the coin, he had placed his life in their hands alone and knew that should he fail here, he would only ever have these men as company. A sigh escaped his lips, as his eyes veered up to the sighting of the Tirisfal Chapter house, it seemed a wholly ridiculous decision.
The simple chapter house nestled itself near the rolling hills to the West of the glade, arched in great timber beams that took the architecture of the Forsakenâs heritage and emboldened it. For every timber pillar, great detailed etchings had been carved into the wood with tales of the light and shadow. Great iron-bound wooden doors overlooked a carved path that ran through a peace garden and out into the glades beyond. It was on this carved path that they stood, the twenty soldiers of the boy king all grouped behind Ilythyrra, staring out at the sight of the chapter house. For a while, they barely registered those that stood before the wooden doors.
Four Iron Sisters and four Dread Brothers. Two teams of the regimental light warriors and their dreaded rune casting brethren. The Dread Brothers were the same that had tracked them back to the chapel house. Their faces were painted in the etchings of the very runes they studied masking their different races. They wore clothes that mimicked the shadows they wielded so that In the sinewy darkness cast from the building, they were near invisible. Their stillness was unnerving. Swords were sheathed in back-mounted scabbards and tomes of books were kept bound in rattled chains.
Perhaps this was why the human soldiers seemed so confident at the prospect of battle. How wrong they were. A member of the Ebon Stars needed no edged weapon in order to defeat their foe.
âStop, Hallowed Ilythyrraâ said Dread Brother Toriel. The Sinâdorei was rumoured to be up for promotion for his unfathomable contribution to the shadow and maintaining its balance.âYou will not desecrate this place of learning any further with your Void form, nor will they who are uninvited.â lythyrra felt the first hallowed cut of guilt through his soul. He steeled himself. He clung to the certainty that he could persuade these people to join him and the Renâdorei on the side of the Alliance.
âToriel.â Ilythyrra bowed his head and touched his fingers to his forehead. âThese are unprecedented circumstances. Forgive me for the company I am forced to keep, but it is the Sinâdorei people who have pushed my hand.â Toriel raised his eyebrows fractionally. âUnprecedented indeed. I see you have travelled here of your own volition. As though you intentionally brought these Humans into our fold.â
âI didâ Ilythrra managed to respond. âBecause it is the right thing to do. I have come to give you the last chance to make the right choice. Do not stay with the Bansheeâs Horde.â Anger exuded from the soldiers beside Toriel.
âThere will never come a time when Sinâdorei nor the members of the Ebon stars will stand by the side of men. Not anymore. You have brought them here to their deaths. Why?â The voice that rung out was strong and resolute, belonging to none other than the leader of the organisation - Arbiter Sunfury. The woman was a fierce breed of Sinâdorei with the piercing stare of a storm.
âThey are not dying at your hand.â His voice came out meek, he knew he would have to make a convincing argument for her to see the reason the Void elves did. âAs I speak the Alliance are taking Undercity. Come with me, before it is too late.â
âYou are right they shall not die by my hand.â Lucritica stepped back.
âTraitor. You dare come to us in this form, look at what you have done to the balance.â Growled Toriel.
At the word the Iron Sisters blades whispered from scabbards. The warriors moved. âYou will answer for your crimes to the Horde and to the balance that we swore to protect. You and all of your fellow Renâdorei.â The Iron Sisters surged towards the company of human warriors and mages. The temperature plummeted around them as a howling wind roared over the air, chilling the bodies of the elves. He felt ice crowding his hair and blocking his nostrils, his mouth was raw with the frost he inhaled.
He had thought the gale was brief, yet it seemed a lifetime before the din subsided. Opening his eyes it was then he felt blinded by the sudden surge of holy energies radiating from the Iron Sisters, casting a great protective shield over themselves and the other soldiers. Runes flickered across the air where the Dread Brothers sung from behind the sisters casting their dark magic. Around him he could already see the bodies of the humans, the mages frost spell the last thing to be cast before the Dread Brothers spells had found their way, like snakes, constricting the life from their bodies. The Iron Sisters remained stoic in turn, blades pointed outwards in challenge towards Ilythrra. It was then that Lucriticaâs frame shrouded his vision and he knew his attempt to persuade the Ebon Stars had failed.
âYou forget yourself. We are soldiers of the Horde. Our side was chosen long before the Banshee Queen stepped up to her new title. But I can not blame you falling into insanity and idealism when you have given yourself so freely to the Void. In the name of the balance, we Ebon Stars find you guilty. May the light claim your soul and may balance find harmony in your death. And may the Alliance hear the song that warns them of our coming, for it is certain. That we shall come for them.&â
As all turned to black Ilythrra could just about hear the words of those he once followed.
âArbiter the walls have fallen. Undercity has been lost.â
âTheir fate is sealed, so we shall do the same, burn it all.â
What is the concept of the Blood Aegis?
The Blood Aegis is an umbrella term for a military organisation that funds separate divisions. One of these divisions contributes its focus to the Hordeâs armed forces, this is known as the Ebon Stars - a special operatives division that has broken away from the typical front line infantry setup.
Instead we are an order based upon the concept of protecting the balance of light and shadow, a balance that the order believes makes up their universe and of which is fighting between each other to gain dominance. In order to protect this balance, there are two paths for someone wishing to join the Blood Aegis.
What are the two paths available for someone wishing to join the Blood Aegis?
The Blood Aegis is a central order that works on a multi-operational level in which any Horde affiliated race can join should they wish to learn the ways of the light and shadow. However, there is a rule that only women of the light and men of shadow casting can join.
The Iron Sisters path is a unit of women dedicated and devoted to the study of the light, forgers of weapons and armour, healers devout and expert defensive front liners.
The Dread Brothers is a unit of men dedicated and devoted to the study of shadow, rune casters, master manipulators and experts in scouting and spellcasting.
How do each different pathways integrate?
Each different paths available are autocratic, taking their orders from the Arbiter and her selected officers known as Silent Watchers. Although these orders can be very divergent, ultimately they connect into a network of team effort. An Iron Sister and a Dread Brother will always be paired together so that there is a balance and harmony in the order. This usually happens from the moment they are first promoted to Lightsworn and Shadowsworn. You will form irreplaceable bonds, have someone in which to always follow your struggles and help you and a person to always roleplay with outside of events.
What kind of Role Play can we expect from the Blood Aegis?
As mentioned, the Aegis are based upon the concept of light and shadow. This allows the order to have immersive, fresh and arguably unique events. Being a heavy role playing guild, quality events are essential for our priorities. We focus on allowing room for character progression and growth subsequently as an order.
We always attempt to bring changes of rolling DMâd events to more personal decision making. Our capabilities to have small groups and large means you get to feel the change of community to team work.
You can also expect to be seen with other guilds, alliance or horde. Having allies and enemies keeps us out of the city and makes more friends!
Out of Character and In character rules and Subsequent punishments.
The Guild now runs on universal rules both in character and out, with each officer keeping members up to date. Our guild uses our argent archives as a constantly updating and changing database as well as our website. On our argent archives you will be able to view the in character rules and punishment guideline.
Argent Archives - Blood Aegis, which also contains the guild website link.
We do not believe in forcing punishments and will always try to accommodate the people we have in our order with reasoning. But we do have expectations of others which our rules reflect.
⢠No OOC in the following channels: Say, Emote, Yell. - Just because you are out of character doesnât mean that others around you are. We ask that whilst in RP hubs (such as Silvermoon) you remain aware of the people around you and do not ruin their roleplay.
⢠Guild chat operates the same chat standard as Blizzard - Keep it clean.
⢠Be respectful to your fellow guild members and also to others in the game. Try to avoid pointless dramatics.
⢠Inactive members will be kicked after a set amount of time if there has been no update given to the officer team.
⢠The guild will run on a set amount of events with the premise provided for what should happen between these events. It is up to you to make what RP you can from this concept and for the guild to work together to make a cohesive fountain of RP.
⢠Must have a decent level of grammar in English or be willing to learn.
⢠Blood Aegis is about give-and-take. Try your best to turn up to events and keep up a good level of activity to support your community.
⢠Obtain the correct uniform for your character to suit each section of the guild. This information can be given via in game for the time being, or alternatively found on our AA page and website.
⢠Retain a mature level of behaviour both in and out of character. We have a low tolerance for drama.
Recruitment
⢠We strongly encourage any applicants wishing to join the ranks of the Blood Aegis to read through our website or Argent Archives, of which will discuss the guild concept at length and the rules of the guild.
⢠The application process is all done through in character, so you will be required to either approach a member of the Blood Aegis or send a letter to the recruiting officers: Lucritica & Toriel.
⢠We anticipate this guild to be immersive, as such activity and a long progressive route will be enforced to climb the ranks in either sector of the guild. This means there will be a certain level of activity needed to fully see the benefits of your characterâs progressions.
Up to date location of the order: Orgrimmar Chapter House, we will be having a patrol about the city to scout out some potential new recruits.
