The Prophet Zul was once the great hope of troll-kind, a leader for us all, no matter where in the world we come from, but Zul betrayed both himself and the values he stood for when he foolishly sided with G’huun, and that is something we will never forget, something we will never forgive. But Zul was right about one thing; the crown has grown decadent, and under this monarchy we trolls will never again rise and become what we once were.
King Rastakhan, though stagnant, at least tried to uphold the old values. After his death, ‘Queen’ Talanji has let slip Zandalar, the last great bastion of Trollish power, under the Horde’s subjugation. In her cowardice, she let a desire for self-preservation and a fear of the Alliance, the Alliance she provoked in the first place, cloud her judgment. Our old allies, the Amani, the Gurubashi, the Sandfury and even the Drakkari can do nothing but watch as we, the Zandalari who promised them safety, betray them purely because they lack the power they once had. And why? Because the Horde, with the traitor Vol’jin’s help, brought the old tribes to ruin!
No more! We will no longer tolerate Talanji sending Horde champions to butcher our brothers in the streets of Zuldazar! We will no longer tolerate the arrogant Zandalari who disguise their fear of the Alliance with disdain towards the ‘lesser’ tribes! NO MORE! We will strive to make Zul’s vision of a reborn, united troll empire a reality, not by rebelling against Talanji, but by forming an independent opposition where all trolls stand equal, regardless of their tribe and regardless of their Loa! United as one, we will return to the old times when we stood above all others on Azeroth!
Make no mistake! We will never submit to ancient evils as Zul did! But we will be damned before we let our fear cloud our judgment and force us under the subjugation of lessers! The Horde sees us as nothing but tools! We Zandalari and our fleet are no different from Zul’jin during the Second War! They will forsake us, as they do all allies when it suits them! There is another alternative; there is independence and unity! Together, we will build an army to serve as an example to all who kneel in fear; there is another path for us, one greater than servitude!
For Zandalar! For troll kind! For the rise of a new Empire! The Vision Zul promised us!” - Prophet Rak’huul
The Hand of Zul (IC Info)
Led by a former member of Zanchul, Prophet Rak’huul, who chose to side with neither Zul nor the crown during the rebellion, this new opposition of troll supremacists seeks to create an alternative to the Zandalari monarchy in the wake of Zul’s defeat, out of the ashes of his old expedition force to Pandaria. We will take in any troll that shares our values, Zandalari, Amani, Gurubashi, Drakkari, Farraki, regardless of their background, regardless of their loa. We are trolls, and our strength has been forgotten for all too long.
"We trolls were first to rule this world, and we shall be the last." - Prophet Zul
The rise of our opposition has not gone unnoticed by the lesser races. Since the Hand’s foundation, we have endured the hostility of the Horde as well as the racism of Zandalari who consider themselves above the ‘lesser’ tribes. We are not a rebellion, and every single time the fools on the other side have made the mistake of drawing blood first. Even when outnumbered, trolls with no affiliation to the Hand have stepped in to protect the opposition, for they can see true justice when it stands before them. But make no mistake, when we are free of the Horde’s tyrannical gaze, we will prove our superiority to all, through conquest and domination.
“Da tribes have assembled! Ye face not one force, but de combined might of all de Troll Empires! De Hand of Zul will span all de continents of Azeroth once again, and ye lesser races will know pain!” – War-God Jalak
Hierarchy:
Prophet (Guild-master)
The current leader of the opposition is the old Prophet Rak’huul, but any troll who may seek to overthrow him or claim new leadership after his death will hold a title of their own.
High Priest (Co-GM)
The spiritual leader of the movement, a rank currently held by High Priestess Kapera, devotee of Bwonsamdi.
Warlord (Co-GM)
Every tribe, every empire and every movement needs a warlord – a troll who can lead the opposition in battle and make the strategic military decisions required for victory. The rank is currently held by no one and is open to be claimed by a suitable candidate.
Council (Officer)
Reminiscent of the Zanchuli Council, the Hand of Zul has its own group of specialized trolls who regularly convene for closed meetings where they discuss issues and how to handle them. The council holds many different kinds of representatives – a spymaster, a taskmaster, an ambassador, and of course a speaker and representative for each major troll tribe.
Champion (Non-Commissioned Officer)
The champions are the loyal veterans of the Hand who have undergone every trial and proven themselves worthy and capable enforcers of the council’s will.
Loyalist (Veteran)
Trolls who have served the opposition faithfully for a long period of time will be granted the status of loyalist. More often than not, these trolls will be designated to specific tasks with fancy titles, examples being the prophet’s bladeguards: Aztalek, Shield of the prophet, and Taki’zulu, Blade of the Prophet.
Proven (Member)
The bulk of the Hand’s strength is made up of the trolls who have proven their loyalty and usefulness through action or wisdom. But gaining the trust of the upper echelons isn’t easy, and many trolls don’t make it even here.
Unproven (Recruit)
All trolls start out as unproven. No matter how strong or wise they may be, all must prove their loyalty and earn the trust in a movement which values secrecy and political subtlety so much. These trolls receive rights like all others, but they have no hand in the decision making of the opposition, and are required to follow orders until they prove themselves.
Captive
The Hand of Zul no longer takes slaves as it used to, but it still enforces law and order. Trolls who break the rules are forcefully placed into servitude to work off their crimes, be it as servants or gladiators.
Outsider (OOC or Un-Recruited)
Don’t trust these mons!
Hakkari Sleeper Cell???
We absolutely do not believe that every good troll guild needs a scheming Hakkari cult secretly working from within and we absolutely do not have members who are secret Hakkari both IC and OOC! It is preposterous that some would suggest something so vile about us! But also if we were to have an internal secret cult, then it would probably be open for new interested cultists to join, but that’s no worry because we absolutely don’t have one! Who even is Hakkar?!
OOC Info!
Alright! With all that said, let’s address a few elephants in the room:
Yes, this is the Hand of Zanchul rebranded and restructured with the same core of people and a very similar concept. We realized that after the most recent patch, our guild no longer has any ideological ties to Zanchul, therefore the name makes sense no longer.
No, just because we have Zul in the guild-name and we idolize his ideals doesn’t mean that we’re Old-God cultists. The guild is strictly opposed to G’huun and against blood magic in general. (Or is it?)
Yes, we do RP supremacist ‘bad guys’, but RP is always in need of more antagonists, and I assure you we’re all good people OOC. That said, the guild is also full of ‘good guys’ who simply believe that trolls are superior.
No more slaves? We no longer take slaves because there was no support for it IC. The system generated some good RP, but ultimately it was an IC decision based on the fact that nearly no trolls in the guild actually wanted to have lesser races around them. That, and the fact that it immediately cost us the moral high-ground that let us defeat rival guilds.
Conflict
As you can probably see from the very fundamental idea of our concept and the fact we (don’t) have a secret internal cult – our OOC philosophy on RP is that we believe conflict always makes for the best and most interesting RP. This was the same reason the guild used to take slaves in the past, because we wanted to generate as much interesting conflict as we possibly could. And thus far, that has worked out well. Our casual RP has been active with a sizeable group of people ever since launch. This also means that we are more than interested in external conflict with other guilds. We already have antagonistic ties set up with many Horde loyal guilds. We are however also on friendly terms with fellow troll supremacist groups.
Granted, RP’ing like this also has a tendency of bringing with it OOC drama, so we are very strict when we interview people to ensure that every new member knows to keep IC and OOC separate.
Great, with the important stuff out of the way, let’s move on to rules:
1, I won’t bore you with a paragraph stating all the usual rules, so here’s a quick summary; don’t Metagame, don’t Poweremote, don’t Lol, don’t ERP, don’t Grief, don’t bring the Guild tag to shame, don’t break RP-PvP rules, yada yada.
2, Being in this guild, we expect you to take responsibility for your characters’ actions. There will be no such thing as 'denying injury or death’ or whatever. RP is RP, and though we of course won’t just kill someone’s character without having good reason and speaking to them OOC, we do expect you to remember that.
3, Our Discord and our guild chat are not a place for people to post unnecessary memes, talk about sensitive RL topics or bring up politics. Above all, we are a community for RP, and we will remove those who try and disrupt that balance.
4, Will we have RP-PVP? Our options may be limited as things may develop in a way that makes us incompatible with other horde guilds at campaigns, but if there’s room for RP-PVP, we will definitely try to make it happen, I love me some of that RP-PVP.
How do I join this troll supremacist party?
Excellent question! First and foremost, you may approach us in RP! It’s usually not hard to figure out where we are at any given time, and we have active RP more or less every evening. We’re always open to interacting with strangers!
Secondly, you can whisper any guildie online and ask to be redirected to an officer, or directly whisper:
Takizulu (Horde) - Officer
Makona (Horde) - Officer
Tixazli (Horde) - Officer
Jijal (Horde) - Officer
Jaljun (Horde) - Officer
Finally, you may join our Discord server and get in touch with us through the app as a Guest, where you can also find more information on our concept. I can no longer post the link here, but anyone in the guild would be happy to provide.
There is also our Argent Archives page, but that is still a Work-In-Progress.
Preach wisdom, and the wise will follow.
