The day is here, the fires are lit and speeches are prepared as we ready to welcome in another installment of the Nagrand Kosh’harg! Whether you are fresh from celebrations in Durotar or newly arrived to festival fun, we’re looking forward to welcoming friends old and new at the opening ceremony in a little over an hour!

Then shortly after that we kick off the contests with sign ups for the Saddles of Treachery, a challenge of skill and strength as people are invited to try and stay in the saddle of a rowdy wolf who loves nothing more than throwing people off.

We are excited to see everyone there! Orc Fest, No Rest!

An amazing most excellent rowdy wolf rally, saddles of treachery saw some amazing skills in the saddle and maybe at least one very small Vulpera and a Goblin thrown into the nearby Lake. Our winner almost stacked it on a near ground eating fall but persevered and made it all the way through to victory.
Windrise and Tavahka were the only two contestants who made it through to the end, Ghukk coming a close third on style points alone.

Siegehowl sends his regards to the fans of saddles of treachery and awaits for new challengers returning to the contest next Kosh’harg. For now though the excitable wolves are going to get fed extra and kept safe from causing a festival calamity by contest hosts Takkat Warwolf and Naroda Swiftwolf.

Thank you everyone who turned out for the event!
and for those who were watching the opening ceremony.

Day Two - Kosh’harg!

Our second day of the festival saw more games to entertain the visitors from Azeroth and we seemed to have an entirely unforeseen troll twist to the night, with our Expert Archery being won by majestic shots from the Warlord Kemuro.

And then much later - Surprise Troll wedding!
Right there in Garadar as the sprinters ran across the grasslands a chase of the heart was happening right in the main tavern. It was a remarkably wholesome twist to the evening none of us saw coming and as we’ve not found any corpses yet, the sacrifices will be left until after the festival.
From us the hosts this season at Kosh’harg and all of the guests we would like to send our best wishes to Ek’chala and Kah’dun in their Kosh’harg bonding,

This of course cannot take away from the astounding competitor Charmie who managed to successfully pull of a double win in both the Marathon and the Beginners Archery. They say the Vulpera are a tenacious people and they are clearly challengers to watch out for in the rest of the games this festival.

Thank you everyone for coming along to the event and fetching both your energy and support!

Yesterday saw five orcs who came before us in hopes of earning themselves an honour name through the rite of the Om’riggor!

We would like to take a moment to congratulate our fierce hunters:-

  • Tavahka Grimblade!
  • Feltrha Fentricker!
  • Kronold Bloodmane!
  • H’urk Warpcleaver!
  • Ghukk Bloodrush!

Thank you for entrusting us with the momentous task of naming you, and we hope you wear your new names with pride!

Tonight is another matter entirely however! On this day, the events are as follows:-

  • 20:00 - Brawl’gar - The time has come to put aside armour and weapon to have a good ol’ fashioned BRAWL! Need I say more? Of course not! All sign ups are at the western gates of Garadar!

  • 21:00 - The Grand Cook-Off - One needn’t have fists of steel to prove themselves a dab hand! If violence is not your preference, then grab a ladle and get cookin’! With ingredients carefully selected from across Outland, your challenge is to create a dish that outshines all others!

Brawl’gar Notes

Q: It got super busy last season with loads of rolls and emotes! Will it be the same this time?
A: We were unprepared for just how popular Brawl’gar would be in Spring, but fear not! We have learned from the issues that arose and have taken steps to mitigate spam as much as possible! (We also recommend using Listener - it is super helpful!)

Q: Can I sign up beforehand?
A: We ask that you sign up at the gates - we have had instances where people signed up and then did not show up, and we’ve had to make the decision to make it a first come first served basis!

Q: Can I set up a stall nearby while folks are Brawl’garing it up?
A: Yes! Bonus points if it’s a food/drink stall.

Thank you to everyone who has joined us so far, and we hope to see you all again tonight! LOK’TAR OGAR!

Day Three - Kosh’harg!

Om’riggor night is one that lasts in the memories of orcs both young and old, it is a night when names are claimed by the cunning hunters ready to pit their skills against beastly foes. A step forward on a journey is made and a legacy formed for good or ill.

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1041131903018860624/1157002338528153600/WoWScrnShot085.jpg?ex=651705e5&is=6515b465&hm=b30e1fbe62169e18c3474709d9c1d87aae092e2b2cf2f2130608fdd7365e8ea5&

Five individuals presented themselves for the honour of a name through the rite of Om’riggor, their stories varied from those who climbed trees to patiently waiting for the right foe when many numerous opportunities passed under them. To moments in a swamp when poison and cunning were required to secure victory and more. And others who fought giants and monsters from the nether itself.

…the less said about the one hunter smeared in waste to hide their scent the better.

Each returned victorious and each received a name.

  • Tavahka Grimblade!
  • Feltrha Fentricker!
  • Kronold Bloodmane!
  • H’urk Warpcleaver!
  • Ghukk Bloodrush!

There is a great honour given to us who watch over the ceremony of Om’riggor and to those who place their trust in naming them.
We thank you and hope you can wear your names with great pride.

Day four - Kosh’harg

In the main tavern the table lay gleaming with delicious ingredients for the Campfire cooking challenge, with so many of the Horde living in communities and warbands the campfire and cook pot hold a special place in many hearts. Cooking and the eating of good food is essential business.

But this contest was more than just a bake off - Good food and glory were on the table!

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1041131903018860624/1157327408278556742/WoWScrnShot087.jpg?ex=651834a4&is=6516e324&hm=b3c196a3ade58fd90f3bfe96c8a488f8880e51c2b64e5ccb3b685d9638e8a79b&

Oh no! We thought when that was challenged by an unforeseen encounter with a whole cookpots worth of over ripe Nagrand Firecracker Chilli Peppers, turns out when they are ripest these peppers are so hot they become their own Chilli-mentals and those little fiery elementals are scamps with plans of their own!

The Campfire Cook-Off Champion:

  • Mei Lien Rainsong!

For the People’s Choice:-

  • Mei Lien Rainsong!

While the main tavern was under siege from a Spice-nado, the brawlers and fist throwers were just outside of Garadars gates completing in the prestigious Brawl’gar a very popular event for the whole festival and one of the rare chances for combatants to duke it out safely in the spirit of competition.

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1041131903018860624/1157327505070506094/WoWScrnShot089.jpg?ex=651834bb&is=6516e33b&hm=346a1c7ece44fa931debfc3af4f13852e0db8d98408d63659cc431beb6327dc8&

Once more an astounding competitor Charmie gave everyone in the contest a run for their money but pipped to the post by contest outsider Laughing Skull Grez’buth in the final round.

The Brawl’gar’s winners are!

  • Grez’buth - First Place!
  • Charmie - Second place!

Thank you to everyone who took part in our contests.

You brought some amazing roleplay to both events even with Chilli in your eyes, there were only happy tears and merry punches for all.

As the Host of the Drinking Contest tonight! I first and foremost do plan to take part in “Winter’s Endurance!” as I too wish part of this glorious event by our kosh’harg hosts!

This means signups to the Drinking Contest will be held when the Winter’s Endurance is over!
Of course if we finish early! Then it will be before then!
I hope you all will understand and I thank you for your patience and apologise if it is inconvenient!

Let’s celebrate with a bang of a drinking par-- I mean contest!

Day five - Kosh’harg (catch up post!)

Storytellings a hearth favourite of the Horde it is how we learn our histories and share our cultures but just occasionally it becomes the verbal combat sport of “Talehat’ as hosted by our friends from the Solstice Bazaar.

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1041131903018860624/1158014238099513375/WoWScrnShot093.jpg?ex=651ab44d&is=651962cd&hm=cfce697898085142af531160ba5db268b44394915dc4239e260ed62fbf00dbb2&

We have five fantastic story tellers weaving words together into a tapestry of tales, Resha Goresong even busted out some rhymes for the tale. While Tavarhka Grimblade told a tale of a wholesome pigeon (Does Ogrimmar even have those?).
But the winner became Harkha Dawnwalker’s tale of Drekthar and a Gnome became the victor on the night bringing light humour to our otherwise serious evening.

Tale hat winners:
1st - Harkha Dawnwalker
2nd - Resha Goresong
3rd - H’urk Warpcleave

People’s choice - Tavahka Grimblade

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1041131903018860624/1158014352713064598/WoWScrnShot091.jpg?ex=651ab468&is=651962e8&hm=492bc739e1ba057fd8d575f6a87915693d8ad34bec768713380a391c0e6a38c4&

Pilgrimage departed a little later than expected soon after Storytelling, some keen individuals so very certain they would visit their ancestors even turned up an hour early at the eastern gates of Garadar.

Cool winds brought spray from the floating islands over Halaa as guards on duty and unable to join tucked wild flowers from the grasslands into the tunics of passing pilgrims both orc and Horde member alike.
The orcs would progress inside the great mountain of Oshu’gun, while the rest would stand vigil outside beyond the crystal slopes where a pyre would be lit memories shared and tokens offered for the fallen.

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1041131903018860624/1158014486331011122/WoWScrnShot090.jpg?ex=651ab488&is=65196308&hm=88e10e1fbaa064527156d56c64d7fd3fc983c9f3cbef477f447ae10784652d75&

Thank you to everyone who came to these events and shared their roleplay with everyone, though we could only have limited sign ups for stories there was still quite an impressive audience. And pilgrimage felt very meaningful and well respected.

Day six - Kosh’harg

It was the night of Endurance challenges, chaotic and at times astounding with the feats of strength the combined champions of the Horde can muster. The tests and contests have some old favourites with gems inside but also new and exciting challenges to keep our endurance masters on their toes, like Snow-orc that contained a genuine -real- treat.

But victory was claimed by the Goblin priest Screw Tolax who soared above the rest of the competition with a mighty 28 points!

1st - Screw Tolax
2nd - Jum’bo & Charmie
3rd - Blooddawn

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1041131903018860624/1158017138037096488/WoWScrnShot095.png?ex=651ab700&is=65196580&hm=05170aa838f381987f2d311e51b42299a919479d0f250aabf59f4ea8735fcac8&

But when some thought the evening was over, they were in for surprises.
Straight after the Endurance feats were done with it was time for the time honoured Kosh’harg tradition of ‘Drinking’ Many come for the contests but end in their cups, merriment and hangovers are on the cards.
And a good time was had by all.

1st Ko’wi
2nd Kern Gloommaw & Gizzwik Goldtooth
