[H-RP] Shal Serrar - Nightborne Military RP 🌌

INTRODUCTION

:star: Ru’shanna Shal’dorei :star:

From the discipline of Quel’thalas rose the Sin Serrar, sworn blades of the Sunfury Spire. Now, Suramar forges its own sworn order in their image.

The Shal Serrar, meaning Night Blade (or Saber as a synonym!), is a newly-created order built upon the blueprint of the Sin Serrar — their sworn allies and sister guild. Where the Sin Serrar fight for Blood and Wrath, the Shal Serrar take up the midnight vigil: bound to the Nighthold, sworn to preserve Suramar’s supremacy, and sharpened into weapons of discipline and arcana.

Set to be born in the shadow of the Midnight expansion, the Shal Serrar answer Suramar’s call with unflinching loyalty.
This is not an order of mercenaries — this is an oath to eternity.

OUR PURPOSE

“Where the Dawn brings with it wrath, the Dusk delivers silent judgement, blade and saber cut as one.”
The Shal Serrar stand as:

  • :crescent_moon: Guardians of Suramar’s will and interests.
  • :crossed_swords: Elite agents who combine martial and arcane discipline.
  • :milky_way: A force dedicated to the Nightborne, where Suramar cannot afford to send the Duskwatch in force, we will be there to ensure that the Shal’dorei -will be there for our Horde allies.

RANK & ORDER

Discipline is the lifeblood of this order. Service and loyalty carve your place among the Night Sabers:

  • First Saber — Supreme authority, voice of the Nighthold.
  • Inquisitor — Harsh enforcer of loyalty and discipline.
  • Duskwarden — Coordinator of missions and doctrine.
  • Spellfury — Proved veterans, mentors, and champions of saber and spell.
  • Saber (Serrar) — The oathbound core of the order, their names etched in eternity.
  • Acolyte — The unproven, under constant watch, striving to pass the Trials.

WHY JOIN?

  • :crescent_moon: Shal’dorei as the focus - It has been a while since AD saw a Nightborne guild, and longer still since there was a Nightborne military guild. Join a fresh concept that you have yet to try!
  • :dagger: Military- Structured ranks with IC progression and ceremonial trials.
  • :milky_way: Fresh beginnings — This is a newborn order, giving members the chance to shape its story from day one.
  • :drop_of_blood: Inter-guild ties — Sworn sisterhood with the Sin Serrar, offering joint-RP, campaigns, and a broader Elven network.
  • :scroll: The Midnight connection — Espionage, Elven intrigue, survival and supremacy in the upcoming expansion’s age of shadows.

RECRUITMENT

OOC Note
This guild is meant to be chill and interest-driven. You do not need to be active every day or even every month— but the more energy you put in, the more your character will grow within its ranks. What matters most is simple: if you find the concept appealing, you are welcome here.

:full_moon: Suramar calls for her sworn Sabers. :full_moon:
:crescent_moon: Answer the call. Forge the order. Claim your place in the tomes of the Terrace of Enlightenment
:incoming_envelope: Contact Vaelene or Alinrila in game to begin the path of Initiation, or simply DM Nitzik on discord!

The Shal Serrar First Evaluation and Founding,

After fighting off the radical druids of the Withered Thorn, the Nighthold has seen the need, the effectiveness and the possibilities to follow a similar ideal as the Sin Serrar of the Blood elves. And so the Shal Serrar has been founded and today held their first evaluation of Acolytes, most hailing from the prestigious Duskwatch. The Shal’dorei has been isolated for such a long time. And although it has already been many years since their reemergence into the world, there is still much to explore and many dangers that threaten both Suramar and the Horde which they have joined. Now with a strong bond with the Blood elves of Silvermoon. The Shal’dorei are proud to expand, follow and join their fellow Elves of Highborne legacy with this newly established force, The Shal Serrar (Night Blade/Saber). The Shal Serrar are meant to be a more expeditionary type of force. Of professionalized, elite trained and unquestionable commitment. The evaluation today gave the Acolytes present the chance to prove their efficiency in both magical and martial prowess. And for the leadership such as the First Saber and the Inquisitors to prepare, plan and set up training sessions and trials. This was but a first of many…And the Shal Serrar still are open for the willing, the loyal, the committed, the most graceful of their kind to join and most of all…Strive to become a Saber of Suramar!

Are you planning to be strictly a Shal’dorei guild? If so, I’m interested.

(I remember there was an orthodox Shal’dorei guild, which, as far as I know, has sadly disbanded.)

Would you mind sharing your Discord server so I can apply?

We are Nightborne only. You can DM me and we can chat about it! Send a message to Nitzik.

Shal’asan torah

I’m new to roleplaying as a Shal’dorei but I am very interested in meeting others who are part of this little community.

As you can see, Thorvos is still only a baby Arcanist.

How open is the guild to RPers looking to learn the ropes of Shal’dorei RP?

Ru-shanna Shal’dorei!

Fel Emergence And Saber’s Worth

Clouded by uncertainty and skepticism, many influential lips speaks of a waste of resources, a waste of time to bother with the Shal Serrar, calling it a mistake. Others are against this thought and believe the Shal Serrar a worth while investment. Yet, they were unproven, but the chance would present itself. As two Duskwatchs on patrol went missing investigating an unknown source of corruptive energies. Another team of the Duskwatch were to be sent out. But the First Saber and the Inquisitor of the Shal Serrar demanded that they be given this task. It be most fitting task to their existence, a chance to prove their worth in the eyes of the paranoid and hesitant. And so it was agreed. But failure was not an option. Either they return with a positive report or their extence may already be questioned this early in their foundation. The Shal Serrar headed out. Assembling their Acolytes lead by their Inquisitor. This was more then just a simple mission, this was their chance to prove themselves, especially the Acolytes in the eyes of Nighthold and the Shal Serrar’s command. After arriving at the last sight of the patrol. The two Duskwatchs corpses were found. And then a ambush of Demons came forth. Demons…Still in this lands? But how? After eliminating the demons, the Shal Serrar found a fel crystal upon a device that acts as a beacon for a gateway network. They were teleported here or summoned. Tracks showed traces of others having been in the area, Warlocks perhaps? There were many questions but non answered. The crystal device was destroyed and the Shal Serrar returned to Suramar successful on their first major mission. Yet a hunt for who ever brought this Demons now began… Nighthold were pleased. The Acolytes and the Shal Serrar in a whole proved effective and worth the investment, but only…For now…

To Fight a Fal’dorei

the Nightborne of the Shal’serrar uncovered whispers of a peril long buried beneath Suramar: the Fal’dorei, twisted kin who stalk the dark underways. Their revelation came with unsettling reports of skittering movements below.
To steel them for what lies ahead, First Saber Vaelene Moonsong gathered the company on the peaks of Moon Guard stronghold. There she unveiled a trial of preparation unlike any they had yet faced. Instead of rote drills, she thrust them into a simulations of Fal’dorei ambush—claustrophobic assaults in tangled webs, poisoned strikes from the shadows, and relentless surges meant to test both steel and spirit.
At first, the Shal’serrar faltered, their individual skill clashing with the need for unity. But as the training pressed on, they began to move as one: blades covering each other, spells weaving into shields, voices lifting commands and warnings across the din. Teamwork was forged into a budding strength.
Their ultimate trial came in the form of Thrasraxxis, a gargantuan rune-spider. Its body was etched with glowing sigils that pulsed with hunger, each strike of its limbs shaking the ground like a war drum. The battle raged with venom, silk, and spell until, through coordination and sheer determination, Thrasraxxis was finally brought low.
Though the First Saber praised their triumph, she reminded them that this was but a shadow of the true horrors lurking beneath Suramar. The Fal’dorei yet wait, patient and cunning, their kingdom of webs hidden in the dark.
For now, however, the Shal’serrar stand stronger than they did yesterday, sharpened into something greater. They have far to go before they can challenge the brood below, but tonight they walk away prepared in spirit, if not yet in mastery.
The dread beneath Suramar still stirs… but so too does the courage of its defenders.

Loving my time in a guild that greatly portrays how the Shal’dorei interact with the new world before them and its races. Who knows where this journey will take us? It will surely be exciting.

To Find A Fal’dorei

Whispers had reached Suramar of Fal’dorei stirring in the depths—sightings of their spidery forms at the edges of Nightborne patrols, rumors of hidden nests where the brood plotted in secret. Determined to uncover the truth and strike before this lurking threat could spread, the Shal’serrar set out to track the source of the reports.

But their pursuit soon turned into a nightmare. The ground gave way beneath them, plunging the company into the Fal’dorei’s own tunnels. Trapped in the suffocating dark, they fought desperately as wave after wave of drones pressed in. With no choice but to push deeper, they forced their way through the swarm until they stumbled into the heart of the nest — a grotesque chamber where sacs of writhing black blood pulsed with a Void-tainted radiance. At its center loomed a profane obelisk inscribed with runes of the Void, presided over by the Brood Mother herself.

A brief exchange of words revealed only her twisted desires before the Fal’dorei surged again, nearly overwhelming the Shal’serrar in their lair. Salvation came only at the last moment, as the Inquisitor tore a rift in reality and pulled the company to safety. Though battered and shaken, the Shal’serrar endured. Now, as they recover, grim questions remain—the nature of the obelisk, the Brood Mother’s growing power, and the black blood festering at the core of the Fal’dorei hive, and how to deal with them.
