[H][RP] The A'lorai Medical Clinic

House A’lorai are both pleased and proud to announce the opening of their new Medical Center within Silvermoon City. Decimated by the countless wars as many elven families have been; the remaining A’lorai family and retainers wish to give something back to their people and their kingdom. As such they will be opening the medical center within the city for free, available and accessible by all within the city walls.

This new establishment has been funded by the House and private investors to fuel it’s creation, from here on, however, it will be funded primarily by charity and fundraisers, so if you are lucky enough to find yourself not in need of its services perhaps you might consider supporting the cause at these events whenever you are able.

The clinic, which can be found on the north side of the Walk of Elders will serve all needs from illness and injury to medications and therapy; with a variety of medical experience, techniques and expertise depending on availability and patient preferences.

Any inquiries can be directed to Seneschal of House A’lorai; Theolain Nor’danel.

A non-descript building at the northern end of the Walk of Elders, the A’lorai clinic is a charitable endeavor that aims to offer healthcare to those who might normally struggle to access such aid. It offers a variety of services; a general practice for those with chronic or minor injuries and ailments, a ward that can house a small number of patients requiring short-term nursing care, the capacity to attend to serious illness and critical injuries, and talking therapies.

Entirely funded by donations, the interior is practical and functional throughout, with no attempt at the luxury and opulence often seen within Silvermoon. The furniture is plain and sturdy, linens simple and hard-wearing, the stone floors left bare. Everything is fastidiously clean. By the entrance, there is a small plaque that reads, “Where there is charity and wisdom, there is neither fear nor ignorance” and dedicates the clinic to Elion and Melira A’lorai, who dedicated their lives to the betterment of their people and bravely sacrificed themselves defending Silvermoon and family against the Scourge.

We are hoping to run a medical clinic for any and all as a public community event for the server. On the outside of things, this will be a venture undertaken by House A’lorai to help re-establish their name among the nobility of the city and strengthen the House’s standing as well as their reputation.

Behind the scenes, the idea was another of Theolain’s plots, as most things, are, and while it is exactly what it claims to be; there is also a good deal more going on behind the scenes, so there may be many opportunities for characters to get involved in things outside of their norm.

In purely OOC terms we thought this would be a neat event-type thing we could run for the community that would help provide some atmosphere to the city and some added layers of things going on that is available to all regardless of their guild bubble.

The Clinic will be opened weekly on Tuesdays at 9 pm server time. However, those that are running it will also be there, working and running shop as often as their schedules allow it around other things. So keep an eye out. You can also feel free to poke anyone in the guild and ask them about it if you’d like to drop in, chances are we can make it available. The characters running the operation will also announce it in /1 when they are around and open.

Theolain and the House funding the initial set up, but from here on the Clinic will be funded via charity donations and fundraising events. As such even if your character has no need it the clinic itself, they could perhaps get involved on that side of things. Either via private personal donations arranged with Theolain or with support and attendance of the fundraising events, we will be setting up periodically in the future. Keep an eye out for updates on these in this thread and our own guild thread!

With the war effort drawing many of the skilled healers away from the city there may be limited access to those left to formal training. As such the staff of the Clinic will be offering on-site training to any volunteers that would wish to learn in exchange for their time and efforts. Speak to any of the staff IC or OOC about this opportunity.

If you have any questions or concerns; OOC you can contact any of the following people. Likewise, if you want to check if the Clinic is open, book an appointment or anything else IC or OOC you can prod them for that well! Remember that appointments desired outside this time frame and the set open hours can be made with any staff member listed below via in-game mail or OOC whisper!

  • [Aevryth] Sal’ar - Chief Physician.
  • [Vaelyrin] Dawnwhisper - Priestess/Therapist.
  • Valia [Selnarin] Ithillin - Nurse.
  • Atticus [Caraden] - Therapist.
  • [Quentir] Gildrose - Physician/Therapist.
  • [Theolaín] Nor’danel - Seneschal of House A’lorai

This is a really good and interesting idea. Nice to see something that’s out of the box not just more of the usual stuff. At least for me it’s new and innovative

_Rin was slightly nervous about returning to the clinic after such a long time off but she was more excited than anything. Perhaps eager was the wrong word to use. Eager. Motivated. Driven.-
War was cruel and unforgiving on the heart, mind and body and as elves were sent home or returned for respite, she knew that they needed a reliable and caring place to go for all of their needs. The A’lorai Clinic was that.

Dressed in her white cleric’s uniform and a renewed brightness to her eyes and smile, she stepped into the building and prepared for the day ahead.

(Bump! ^^)

It’s quite neat and unique idea, lovely and RP maker, which also has it’s own place, as there are many injured ones that need to be tended to, cause of the war… Perhaps you can also run the infirmary of campains!

Good luck and have fun!

What sort of medical style do you use? Needle and thread? Spells?

A mix of all sorts, depending on patient preference, which staff members are on hand, what is most suited to the injury in question!

How times had changed. Aleite had not once in her wildest dreams expected this - that she would be working alongside such talented healers, light-touched women who selflessly offered their services to those in need, asking for no payment or thanks, merely doing the right thing. She’d always been a pragmatic sort of woman herself. She could wield a needle and thread, and her flames worked well when cauterising flesh, though her talents seemed crude and barbaric in comparison to her colleagues healing capabilities.

Still, she’d do what she could. She had made a promise, and she would hold to it no matter what. Besides…helping others for nothing didn’t seem like such a bad thing - at least, not anymore.

Her altruism knew no bounds, or at least, it didn’t used to. Through personal hardships and struggles she had learned that she had to look after herself, too. It was a work in progress but Rin always knew that in her black, white and golden robes, in the halls of the Clinic, altruism was everything. No matter who walked through those doors, no matter who it was that asked for their aid, she would give everything.
With the bed sheets changed, the supplies counted and tidied, she busied herself with rounds, her eyes ever watchful for a new patient to walk through those doors.

(Bump!)

She sat quietly in the back room of the clinic, staring at the concoction that brewed before her on the table as if her gaze alone could will the hands of time to move faster. Sadly her powers did not encompass Chronomancy, and try as she might the Lady Sunspring could do little else than watch on helplessly as the mixture bubbled away gently atop a low heat, slowly but surely turning clear as the summer sky outside the clinic’s walls.

Idly, Aleite wondered whether her colleagues would disapprove of her using clinic equipment to brew her own personal potions…though seeing as she supplied a hefty chunk of the herbs used during clinic hours from her own personal stash she doubted they would raise much of a fuss. Instead she is left to her own devices, and the dark thoughts that simmer away in the back of her mind like a foul poison.

Selnarin was still missing, and she’d had no whisper of the woman’s reappearance anywhere. Not one of her little spiders had seen hide nor hair of the woman, and though she was loathe to admit it the Lady Sunspring was worried. It was unlike her friend to vanish from the city scene for so long, especially now that her family feud had been resolved. Aleite tilts her head to one side, smiling despite herself. She hoped Ja’kali had enjoyed his latest present. That was her next job, to check upon the troll’s progress in loosening the lips of his new charge. No doubt the rigor mortis would make their goal somewhat challenging, but if anyone could pry information from a dead man, he could.

Voices sound out in the main lobby of the foyer, footsteps clicking across the stone floors towards her. With a quick glance to her now finished potion, Aleite snatches the vial up and stoppers it, tucking the vessel away in her sleeve just as the door opens to reveal one of her harried colleagues, her voice still a little breathless from her hurried walk down the hall.

“Would you mind giving me a hand out here? It’s a little busier than usual.”

Aleite smiled, nodding once even as she tucked her hands behind her back, securing the vial in a tiny pocket sewn onto the inside of her sleeve. Safe and sound, at least for now.

“Of course. Lead the way.”

“It’s such lovely work you do here.” The elderly woman said as she patted Rin’s hand.
“That’s very kind of you to say, Mrs Brightwing; we’re just doing our part to help the city.” The Priestess replied modestly as she handed the woman her hat and bag.

The two women walked towards the exit of the clinic; the cubicles and treatment stations were quietly bustling with people being treated for broken bones, flesh wounds, burns and anything in between and out of.

Rin took a look around as they walked and smiled gently to herself. Not a single day was the same here. She preferred the quieter days; people weren’t getting hurt if the clinic was quiet. Not being needed was a good thing but it was a rarity.

“You be careful now, Mrs Brightwing. Make sure to rest that ankle as soon as your home.” Rin said softly as she helped the elderly woman down the steps. “Remember to drink the tea we gave you too. It’ll help with the pain and the swelling but if it gets too bad, make sure you come back to us, alright?” She reminded her.

“Yes, yes, of course Priestess. Thank you again. We’ll be sending our donation in the post to you shortly.” Mrs Brightwing said cheerily as she waved over her shoulder and hobbled back towards her home.

Rin returned to the clinic, taking a moment to breathe as she looked around. Not ten minutes passed before a burst of activity came through the doors.

“Help! Oh, please help us! My son; I only looked away for a minute and there’s so much blood!”

Rin turned immediately to them. No rest for the wicked. Just how she liked it.
