[H-RP] The Dust Scavenger Caravan 🦊

We are Vulpera. We are the children of sands

We thrive where others die, we endure when others bend the back.

Where you see ruin ,we see treasure. Where you see hardship, we see adventure.

Every day is a trial, and every trial made us stronger.

But no trial must be faced alone, this is yet another lesson the sands have taught our people.

In this new world beyond the sands, a caravan is a home far from the dunes.

We are the Dust Scavengers. We are Vulpera

A new adventure, a new family.

You are our kin. You are Vulpera.

Summary

We are the Dust Scavengers, one of the oldest Vulpera caravans of Argent Dawn, ally of Horde and an independent community of like-minded Vulperas. Our caravan travels all over Azeroth and beyond, in search of adventures, new treasures, and fruitful trades ; all the avenues for any good Vulpera to excel into !

But do not be mistaken, we are more than a mere caravan of traders and explorers. Azeroth may be full of dangers, but so was Vol’dun and our people have learned to defend themselves against such threats

We’re always open for new tails willing to join our ranks and contribute.

~-~-~-~-~-~-~

For whom do we look ?

We are open as much to new roleplayers as we area to veterans.

For IC reasons, only Vulperas are accepted within the ranks of our caravan.

Our requirements for new members are quite simple, we only need you to be active within the community, motivated, voluntary in the RP you offer, and respectful of basic RP etiquette.

While the true recruitment is done exclusively IC, and you can just meet us directly at the turn of some RP, you can also contact us beforehand to set a meeting. Either in-game through whispers and mail, or through Discord (Handles are present on our AA page)

The recruiting officers are Xanoxis, Niko and Kheenah

What do we do ?

The caravan travels around the entirety of Azeroth, setting camp in areas on a regular basis to explore the surroundings, gather knowledge about the vicinity, and harvest ressources to trade. While this makes the bulk of the guild less present in city hubs, the caravan has settled outposts in great spots of passage, in which they store and trade their latest goods, brought in through the prowess of their mages.

Expect us to be present particularly in Orgrimmar and Dalaran, and do not hesitate to take contracts from us for goods you cannot obtain yourself !

For those who prefer to remain in the field, our activity alternates between events of scavenging and exploration, which can also regularly be made as spontaneous adventures by any members, and familial relaxing by the campfire.

We Vulperas might be hardworkers, but even the busiest fox needs a rest once in a while !

FAQ

1. What are the requirements to join the guild ?

You must be a Vulpera as the caravan accepts no other race. You must also be an active roleplayer - while the guild participates in the other activities of the game, our main focus is roleplaying. No need to be worried if you are a beginner, we accept as much the new guys as experienced roleplayers.

2. Does the caravan have a home base ?

As a traveling caravan, our people do not have a set home, we settle our camps wherever we travel in the world. Still, the caravan has established outposts, or plans to do so, in the major cities of Azeroth, offering a place to stay.

3. What is the hierarchy within the caravan ?

The caravan was once led by a single Vulpera.
Now it is a council of Vulpera called “Silverfangs” due to a rite they performe upon recieving said position.
The rest of the members are then split in different roles of their choosing, all holding the same authority. Last but not least are the Softpaws, new arrivals to the caravan waiting to prove themselves

4. When are your usual activity times ?

We are active all week long, most ofen during the evening rounds after 7-8pm, though it is not a definite time. You can regularly expect to see members online at any time of the day.

5. Are you part of the PCU ?

We do not align with the PCU and their rules, as we value our independence. Nonetheless, in the spirit of keeping the community of Argent Dawn united and roleplaying together, we keep a neutral if not positive relationship with the guilds of this coalition.

6. How close to the Lore does the guild stick ?

We try to remain as close as possible to the Lore provided by Blizzard, and ask your TRP to reflect accurate information. Still, due to Vulpera Lore being scarce and in the spirit of creativity, we accept a hefty amount of stretching and headcanon.

In doubt, do not hesitate asking for guidance.

7. What are your rules on displays of affection ?

Showing affection in many ways is a normal part of roleplaying a character’s life, thus they are not forbidden. We only ask they reflect the PG-12 rating of the game, anything else ONLY belongs in private messages.

8. What is your stance on child/kit RP ?

We forbid the active playing of child characters, though we allow them to be represented as NPCs by the parent characters during their RP. Any played character must be AT LEAST a teenager, preferably a young adult, without use of numerical values.

9. Do you have rules about appearance ?

When choosing the appearance of your character, remain as close as possible to what you can expect of Vulpera culture - transmogs, mounts, pets, etc…

Still, we are an adaptive race and you can reflect this. Just do not go overboard !

The roles of the caravan :

1. Dune Maw

The Dune Maw is comprised of the Vulperas who feel the most at ease when placed into the fray, putting their lives on the line to defend the caravan from any threat that would arise against them. And while some might seem rough around the edges, as hardened warriors tend to become, rest assured that their hearts are in the right place.

The Desert Guardians are artful weaponmasters
The Mystic Eyes specialize in the use of magic for warfare
The Dune Wraiths focus on countering and containing the dark forces

2. Glow Tail

The Glow Tail is the smart part of the caravan, comprised of various scholars and entertainers who provide the Dust Scavengers with knowledge of the world that surrounds them. If there is anything you do not know, your best bet will always to ask one of those Vulperas in finding the answers to your every question.

The Glyph Keepers are specialized in history and magic theory
The Tail Tellers are expert storytellers and cultural butterflies
The Snake Oilers are proficient alchemists and herbalists

3. Keen Ear

The Keen Ear represents the Vulperas who devote themselves with providing the resources necessary for the caravan to continue on its merry way. Though their tasks may seem menial for most at a first glance, there is no question that they are essential in making sure the Dust Scavengers still roll today.

The Dew Collectors are the housekeepers of the camp, often cooks or healers
The Dune Hunters replenish the caravan’s food stocks regularly
The Tinker Claws offer life improvements thanks to their engineering ingenuity

4. Cunning Claw

The Cunning Claw is filled with Vulperas who value adaptabiliy above all else, finding themselves more at ease in new and unconventionals environments than around the camp itself. But don’t let yourself be fooled by their excentricity and their time away from camp, they always come back home at some point to share their findings.

The Shade Stalkers are the vanguard, scouting ahead for potential threats
The Dust Scavengers are savvy explorers and tomb raiders
The Brine Furs man the caravan’s ship and seaside outposts thanks to their affinity with water

5. Slick Tongue

The Slick Tongue is built from Vulperas who have found a better life in dealing with the hassles of the cities than the difficulties caused by a wandering lifestyle. Though they easily get called quitters or too soft, underestimating them might just be at your disadvantage, lest you wish to find yourself outdone by their honeyed words.

The Oasis Merchants man the caravan’s stalls, selling their findings to the best prices
The Zephyr Speakers lodge in the caravan’s outposts and forge partnerships for its benefits

Since they have left the desolate wastes of Netherstorm, the Dust Scavengers have been hard at work after reaching Terrokar Forest, the last destination of their journey throughout the remnants of Draenor. Having chosen to camp outside of the City of Light to avoid the scrutinizing eye of the Naaru, and avoiding discomfort for their mortally challenged caravaners, their efforts of uncovering the last secrets of the region are going apace !

With the pleasurable excuse of a race, they have scouted the region for points of interests, before claiming forgotten relics in the ruins of Auchindoun, thwarting a plot of the Ethereum through an uneasy accord with the Alliance, and restoring the hope of crestfallen Arrakoas waiting for their raven god.
New discoveries and new allies are what the caravan has made.

Still, there is one more price waiting to the east. One they will need all the protection for. One they have been preparing for since they set paw on the destroyed land. *
One expedition waits for the adventurous, one foray into the heart of Hell itself… Scavenging Shadowmoon Valley and its sulfurous chaos

It is a page of the Dust Scavengers’ book that was finally turned, as a long journey has reached an end. It still feels like yesterday when they went through the Dark Portal to witness the dying beauty of Draenor, but it was yesterday when they passed it once again to return to their home world.

As they faced the might of the demons, carving their way through the Peninsula, and digging up forgotten orcish treasures under the hateful gaze of the Fel Reavers that patrolled the region.
As they fraternized with the fungal hive-minds of Zangarmarsh, ancient sources of knowledge, while ousting the remnants of old Naga forces still intent on drying the swamp.
As they soothed the wrath of the elements and made closer allies of Garadar’s orcs, all while relaxing within the pristine wilds of Nagrand.
As they pried ancient artfacts from the dry peaks of Blade’s Edge and valiantly confronted an untimely resurgence of the ancient evil that was the Evergrowth.
As they endeared themselves to the Ethereals of the Netherstorm, while tracking the corrupted spirit of an antique draenei hero.
As they renewed hope in the Arrakoas of Terrokar and claimed for themselves relics of Auchindoun
And as they rushed within Shadowmoon Valley to put an end to the threat of an Eredar Lord trying to lay claim to the scarred wasteland

Oh the adventures they can tell from this half-year peregrination amidst a world that soon will cease to be. It will not be forgotten any day soon !
Will the Scavengers return ? Probably. Afterall, as Outland dies, so new dark corners to scavenge may arise !

But for now, it is back to Azeroth in earnest for the caravan !

Demons and eerie forests have been the bread of the Scavengers for a good month now, the Blasted Lands provided more opportunities than they expected, elongating what should have been a short stay. But it is time to trek and travel anew ! And full of spirit after a pleasant night at the Fireside Gathering in Orgrimmar, the Dust Scavengers are setting their sights towards yet another eerie forest to the West for their next stay.

Deep in Alliance territory, will the shade of Duskwood allow them respite from the blue menace ? Or will the placid caravan move as soon as they set camp ? This is a fate that have not yet been uncovered, and only time will tell

We could have expected a worse stay for the Vulpera caravan in the heart of Alliance territory, a stone’s throw away from the capital of Stormwind; And indeed, some tried their best at making the Dust Scavengers unwelcome! But thanks to the neutrality of the druids and their grounds, the Vulperas were able to profit fully from the boughs of Duskwood and beyond. But now has come the time to move on for new adventures.

And it is south that the Caravan set its sights, deep within the jungles of Stranglethorn! A long trek awaited them to reach a new and safe enough campsite, but they have now settled a brisk ride away from the harbour of Booty Bay. And after an eventful ceremony and a relaxing evening on the beach, they are ready to take on the mysteries of the thick underbrush in the weeks to come!

Still ensconced within the depths of Stranglethorne Jungle, the Scavengers are hard at work in harvesting its bounty for a project that has finally come into light.

Near the start of their journey, they had managed to secure a boat that was sadly left behind as they trudged onwards. Lost to the jungle and claimed by murlocs, the Vulperas have finally found it again and bargained the invaders away. Nowhere close to sail worthy after all this time, the caravan is now slowly repairing the vessel to open themselves to greater opportunities of travel !

Just a little longer to endure the green hell and its hidden dangers… and then the Dust Scavengers will be on the move again

The trip of the Scavengers across the sea was… mitigated to say the least… Despite new horizons being opened by the recovery of their ship, this did not mean that the Vulpera caravan had the most developed sea legs and sickness gripped more than one of them

Between the naturally rough seas, the scary stories of deep legends ready to make their trip worse, the untimely assault of kvaldirs, and a kraken trying to get a bite of their vessel, the original plan of landing in the port of Suramar was quickly changed against their will !

Landing ashore and mooring in a mist-lost haven on the coasts of Stormheim, it is from here that the new exploratory chapter of the Dust Scavengers in the Broken Isles begins.

Many brave vulpera have helped in Desolate campaign in recent times, and exploration of Stormheim was slow because of that. Caravan is slowly exploring the swamps and forests, looking for adventure and shinies. Many scouts look upon the high mountains, trying to find safe roads for next dunewander for caravan, across the steep tracks and cold snows.

If you’re as good of a scout as some of us, maybe you will be able to find our camp, near a certain lake and bridge in the lands of Vrykul. Our campfire is always open for guests.

If you have a point to make, doing so through a series of passive-aggressive :poop:posts isn’t the way to go about it. Show some reciepts, give some proof, because if there is something to reveal then congratulations - you’ve shot yourself in the foot.

Got an odd way of showing your friendship. I won’t respond anymore unless something of substance is posted.

fine… have it your way

You know you can talk about issues like this without needing to put on the make-up and giving threats to Gotham City, right?

I won’t lie, it is disheartening to see this sort of artwork, at least in my opinion, and I don’t really support it, but when you go about doing an exposé in this fashion it doesn’t strike me as someone who wants the truth out, it just gives off bitter ex-partner vibes. Especially when you seem absolutely unhinged.

People commissioning P*rn outside of game isn’t unusual or particularly bad? I remember we discussed this at length in another thread a couple months ago.

Unless I’m missing something. Which I probably am - there seems to be some kind of grievance going on most of us are unaware of. Evidence for foul play and/or predatory behaviour? That’s different.

You’re not helping your case here.

My Twitter profile is my own, I don’t need you to decide what I have to post “Kenrou”/“Skullstalker” or whatever goes now. You missing the parts where we tried to help you everytime with your drinking problems. Linking my nsfw twitter account where I post and share art for winning WoW arguments that you want to create is stupid.
Also, instead of send everyone away, and block them and create drama under a forum post, help yourself.

It isn’t.

It’s not.

It does.

I dunno, I don’t play Horde side, and even if I did I’d prefer to RP on my own characters rather than be a weirdo going about spying on other people just in case they happen to be ERPing.

Regardless of my opinions on what the Scavengers have done (in terms of the art) or may have done (the ERP you mentioned), you’ve gone about this in such a way that you’d make Keemstar seem like BBC News.

The stay in Stormheim has reached its end for the Scavengers, and not a minute too soon ! Safe to say that the ancient region was fraught with dangers hard to find anywhere else, some that even nearly spelled the end of the caravan - between an expedition that had to pry their own souls from the jaws of vrykul afterlife, proving their worthiness in the process, to a crazed mage with a passion for arts and the resident basilisks, or even elemental enslavers creating monstrosities of death.

But the stay is at last over and the caravan moves on to another step of their journey. Aiming even higher, it is in the peaks of Highmountain that the Scavengers are now taking residence for a thorough exploration of its caves and summits !

The Highmountain is a vast region, and our stay at the peak of mountains let us scout for adventures ahead! After dealing with neighbours, bad and good, caravan ventured down, towards Skyhorn, a calm tauren village.

With harpies on horizon, and mysterious darkness nearby, Scavengers have lots to discover!
