[Half solved] Attempting to log into an existing character takes me to character creation while getting stuck loading

Hard to describe problem, but I cannot log in on one specific character of mine.

When in character select, if I click ‘Enter World’ on one of my existing characters the game will load into character creation(!) while at the same time displaying ‘Logging in to game server’ and the game just gets stuck on this indefinitely.

I flatout cannot log in on this character anymore.

-This regards a normal retail WoW character - not classic, seasonal, nor Remix
-This behavior repeats every single time and persists through full client restarts
-Double clicking and clicking enter world result in the same behavior
-I am on a completely vanilla install with no addons
-All other characters log in just fine even characters on the same realm
-The character realm is not down
-There is no inappropriate character name or any renaming taking place

I’m at a complete loss here

I am having the same problem but this time I saw the character create screen then it disconnected me, and now no matter what it hard stuck on “logging in to game server”. I reset my router setting, reinstalled wow completely, updating windows, nothing works.

Update.

The issue partially fixed itself after moving the character into my four slot warband, attempting a log in, and then moving them out of the warband again.

Now I can log in at least - but the login process still opens through the character creation screen first. It’s bizarre and it feels like my character is still broken in the backend on the servers.

The patch has been extraordinarily buggy so far. It’s unnerving to say the least.

I’m marking this as solved but this still feels really unsolved on the bigger scale, the logging in still doesn’t function properly going through freaking character creation to enter the world.

I hope this at least helps other people with similar issues.
