I tried to reason with them and make them understand, but it’s useless.
Despite their attempts, the thread have had an overwhelming nice messages and support and I’m grateful.

Being an atheist means you do not believe in what different religions tell you about the Universe’s evolution. It does NOT mean hatred and intolerance towards those who believe in God, Allah, Ganesha, Flying Pasta Monster or whatever. I don’t get it why it’s so hard for some people to grasp this simple concept.
If you think that the label “atheist” gives you a carthe blanche to look down on other people, I have some bad news for you.
