Having the Haranir as a new allied race, just feels like a waste of an opportunity to be honest.
They had such a small part to play in TWW, to suddenly having them all joining the ranks feels out of place.
The Ethereals on the other hand, whom we’ve had dealings with since TBC and recently helped seem like a far more realistic choice
horde got dwarves this exp
alliance gets trolls next
yeah garbo race no one ever asked for
It will likely make sense within the story of Midnight.
With that new harranir zone and all… There’s a purpose there.
They might come in a later patch. We’re getting another ethereal themed zone after all in Midnight.
I’m really, really hoping for ethereals. I was huffing copium all the way until the trailer given the 7 week wait to unlock the gleeful glamor, assuming that blizzard was getting the finishing touches done behind the scenes and waiting to reveal them with the new expansion, but I might have been too hopeful.
I’m not even fully against the haranir, I just think that they can’t be the only race we get in midnight, just like I hoped earthen wouldn’t be the only one we got in TWW. It’s pretty wild to think back to BFA announcing 6 new races on launch, then shadow dropping two more near the end of the xpac.
I do think ethereals are pretty much ready to go as a new playable race, and with the inclusion of models in TWW that have no built in armor, I feel like they’d easily be able to wear and transmog gear, but we’re at the mercy of blizzard to see if anything changes
It’s basically just another night elf race.
It would be nice to see something completely fresh and new instead of twists on already existing races
