Oh yes their opinions on addons vary greatly. Some GMs try to help, others dismisses it with a copy-paste response. The one I talked to about the stalker cases actually made me feel heard by explaining what they could do and how stuff worked. My other community mods got a complete copy paste and a mostly copy paste answer. It’s a bit of a lottery sometimes. You could get lucky and actually get help, or you get some smilies asking you if you know how to click a link, then a link to a page explaining how to use the stable master or something other unrelated.
Maybe if TRP is an addon that constantly gets used for abuse by hosting links or explicit language or what have you, Blizz could either add official content with similar functions (in this case a character profile you can fill out with stuff like IC name, appearance descriptions, lil RP hooks etc) to replace the need for an addon.
I’ve seen other games like minecraft do that when a mod got popular enough. Players LOVE bees? They add bees. It’s a win.
Too much work? Maybe could contact the addon author and like, make it official in some way so they can both moderate it and the addon author gets a little something in return? Wouldn’t have to do it with EVERY addon, that’d be a mess, but maybe the most popular ones? Or the ones that causes the most tickets.
Also yall calling each other out, stop that please. Not saying the grudges aren’t worth talking about, but this isn’t the place for it. We’re trying to come up with constructive feedback on how moderation could be done better on AD.

I am confused cuz the pcu guild I am in ALWAYS tries to interact with other players in Lordaeron, and most of the time we just get a (we’re in an event rn!!) or we get ignored, at one point someone reacted to us but quite obviously was reprimanded in guild chat for it cuz then they began ignoring us again instantly
idk why the pcu is the one who needs to take the step to ‘unite’ the server, nothing we do helps

I don’t think that randomly accusing people of being someone is the way to go, honestly, especially considering what that person is known for.
Click and drag on someone’s forum post, then hit quote. A quote of what they have said should appear in your reply.
They did. They actually did, and there is a button in TRP profiles where it gives you the entire code of the profile itself to prove that you didn’t just make that up, to send it to Blizzard for reporting.
They still say it’s a third party addon, and that they can’t do anything about it.

I’m not. This is a really important thread that deserves better than random nonsense AD drama. I took the time to try and help you because I also used to have these weird thoughts of conspiracy and server politics which don’t exist in any real capacity (mostly just starting and ending at ‘your friends and my friends aren’t friends’.)
Measures to stop stalking is way more important than high-school tier beef, so don’t take it there. Ruthok, I’m sorry again for derailing. This time I’m actually out, this detour has alread gone on way too long.
