I gave up my artifact weapon’s power to help draw out the corruption from that giant sword. We all did.

Would be nice if they did something to remove it but many things linger forever after expansions are done.

I believe blizzard agrees with your sentiment. This is why everything they did in DF was work on evergreen systems.

They did not introduce any expansion specific feature, they reworked the talents with lessons they learnt from classic, and worked to fine tune the basics.

Although I think that some excitement from systems is missing, I do not know if it would be a good thing in the game to reintroduce them (although I kind of wish blizzard reintroduced corruption for like 2-3 months at the end of the expansion, just for lols).

No it’s not, its power was neutralized at the end of legion, its just a huge toothpick stuck in Azeroth, which a) is too large to be removed by us mortals and b) is of no further consequence. The “what’s with the sword” meme is getting silly. It’s just a relic of a past expansion, it can stay where it is.

I always thought we used up all the azerite and the heart of azeroth when we Dragonball Z’d N’zoth in the face and during Shadowlands/past 3 years the healers have managed to cure most of the woonz.

I can hope they will sort out the big sword one day…

The wound was healed and the corruption from the sword cleansed. There is no Azerite around now lore wise.

I agree.
It always bugged me how messy WoW is because of all those abandoned mechanics.
Devs should start to develop mechanics which actually STAYS in next expansions. I don’t think we are really need bunch of new mechanics every patch.
Less but better and permanent would be much more welcome.

If it turns out the next expansion is about dwarves, Magni could probably be sneaked in somewhere offering glorious, “exciting” activities .

We could have him offer timewalking island expeditions for azerite, maybe torghast too for variation and have the azerite drop from them as a currency for “valuable” things.
