Has ele shaman ever been bottom-tier spec for pvp?

If yes (in recent history), please let me know exactly when. Thanks.

Yeah in Wod for 3 Seasons, but tbh Turbo was broken so every ele Shaman swapped to the meele spec

and in Mop ele was only broken because People abused the Level 70er Flamentongue Set

Wod s3 was nice hahahah everyonezugging it in

Season 3 it came back to be fair and Zeepeye even won 1 tournament with it but yeah early Cata, early MoP, early WoD and early BFA for sure.

Why does Ele need to be a bottom tier spec?

BFA Season 1. Where it was severely underpowered, even the leveling process was a giant pain in the a**. Got better in the following seasons but Ele was still lacking due to a lot of bad talents back then which were just dead most of the time. (looking at you Unlimited Power)

No enha was op first and ele was even more op after some buffs in bfa s1 it was almost equally to enha at the time and ebha warr was s rier alongside rmp

Vanilla: ele is basically non existent as a functional spec, simillar to balance. However, the design paradigm for classes was a lot different back then

TBC: ele was ok in BGs and 5v5 arena, but not a truly viable pvp spec by todays standard

Wrath: thanks to Lava Burst hitting like a truck, good utility and old Astral Shift talent, ele was one of the top, if not the best caster.

Cata: allaround meh expansion for ele, both in PvP and PvE. Infamous train the blue meme was born then if I recall.

MoP: mediocre untill 5.2 when they buffed LvB by 25% (giving Lava Surge a free 25%buff aswell). Probably the most OP ele has been, since LvB hit a lot harder you could get 4 procs and 100-0. Ele also got Shamanistic Rage after countless complains about weak def.

WoD: my least favourite expansion for ele due to them giving a poormans elemental overload to everyone via multistrike, replacing it with flying turds for mastery. Skipped the expansion almost entirely, played a little enh till the end.

Legion: no FS cooldown, basically Lava Burst spam. Powerhouse in bgs, solid in arena.

BfA: I played hunter here, but from the comments ele was weak, but whole BfA was the worst pvp expansion to date.

SL and DF: simillar playstyle with Primordial, depends on tuning. AtM ele is not bad, but it is not top either. People here focusing on meters are deluded - afflicftion is always top on meters yet it is not considered OP. It it is the impact of damage thar counts, not useless pad.

Most people look Wrath ele and want it back, but I would never go back to a time without Lasso, Static field etc.

i assume less Ele bot´s :joy:

Not completely true, at the start of Bfa ssn1 Yes, then they got in the middle of the Season a big rework, and then they were extremely broken, this was the reason why i stopped playing arena in ssn1

Its the most broken spec in Classic when it comes to pvp

It doesn’t need to be. I just feel that the community feels far less annoyed by ele shamans being powerful than with enhance shamans and that’s the way Blizzard operates.

It’s not only Elemental Shamans. They are just the easiest to recognized.

In SL S2 ele was awful, worst caster in the game for sure at that time. That’s the most recent in history.

But last time ele was best spec in the game has also been quite a while. Legion S5 it was for sure with WW, maybe BfA immediately after patch 8.0.5., hard to say since Blizz killed the MMR and therefore ladderplay with that patch for the remainder of the season.

Legion Ele Shaman was best.

Enhancement peaked in MoP.
