Has Warcraft reached the orwellian state?

im surprised no1 has mentioned how Pandas are half black / half white and it offends them
bunch of racists if you ask me

or is it just locally focused to fully black Characters?

you should all be ashamed of yourself for hating on skin colour

I’m surprised no one mentioned pandas when discussing pandering.

Yes us Europeans have different cultures ranging from German to Italian, what about it?
Oh you mean skin colour? Maybe you should go back to the US forums if you think it’s so bad here?

you are a truly lost soul

that was the full quote

if you want me to quote you out of context … here

makes sense …

I know what you mean. I feel the same way, but you can’t say that because then you’re just a homophobic racist sexist bigot.
Obviously.

Of course the real reason is that you’re trying to suspend disbelief but the internal logic of the fantasy universe you’re engaged with is being messed with or even broken.

Inserting something which was not there before with no explanation, or retconning something, or worst of all breaking the internal rules about how that fictional world functions, causes a logical inconsistency that makes it hard to suspend disbelief.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a single white person turned into a black person for no obvious in-universe reason suddenly appearing (but lore says having always existed), or if it’s a BMW with V8 engine and heated seating arrangements in the middle of Thunder Bluff, or if it’s a video’s audio being ever so slightly out of sync.

In this case, it isn’t clear to us why relatives of the Arathi should look so radically different to their family tree.

People who insist on doing such things are being spoilsports, and they’re annoying. The issue is people are having a hard time conveying this over the screeches about diversity; our arguments are being misconstrued as us being against black people.

But in actual fact they are us being against the notion that there are now black people in Warcraft who never until now have done anything whatsoever even though they were in the midst of us the whole time, apparently. In fact they were so transparently not there that we couldn’t even find them in the game world at all.

And here we have a new area of the game world where we haven’t explored much. Perfect opportunity to add some more diverse humans; but they just HAD to use that particular family name.

I suppose we will see if it’s just an adopted surname like how many black people now have English surnames in the US. If so, that’s fine, but if they want to make the argument that this is a relative of Anduin Lothar… well that’s…

pretty sure the Queen is Black
just saying…

which means yes. its bloodline lore accurate. if we go by the Film ?
i dont read the books, but then again the books dont tell you if they are white or black

you just imply they are

Us European are pretty welcoming to outsiders as long if they integrate well and take part in our society.
But American media are obsessed and it has become an ideology where they are OBSESSED with diversity.

Look at this post you made, people are asking about clearance. You’re just telling them to get over with it. Ask yourself why you’re doing that? Why do people just need to mindlessly accept something and can’t ask questions?

because it doesnt matter, if it bothers you, the real question is why?

why should it matter

Okay everybody, calm the horses, it’s not skin color what this post is about.

But since anything I say you narrow it to that I am a racist who’s only problem is dark skin color, not the bigger picture of the unwanted political pandering, to get good reviews on twitter from people who never played the game. And use it to hide the actual problem, which is the downgrade of worldbuilding and storytelling, with false “diverity”, that makes the game a grey homogeneous mixture with no charater and magic, it used to have.

Same way the white guy from FFXIV bothers me, it feels out of place and doesn’t make sense.

The Warcraft movie is an abomination and a slaughtering of the original game’s story and lore. In it, the humans win, but in Warcraft 1 the Orcs win.

It’s mildly entertaining, but it’s not a good movie and it certainly doesn’t respect Warcraft’s story.

It also came out 21 years after the original game.

This movie’s problem is EXACTLY the same thing we’re having here.

Nobody claimed this is the first time they’ve done it. ;D

PS: The queen doesn’t appear black. She is definitely of a darker skintone, but Stormwind had that since Warcraft 2. She looks more like a greek or roman or north african.

There is, however, a black guard captain.

But again, this movie doesn’t even get right who actually won the war, so…

Blizz is not interested anymore in writing a good story, they are interested more in scoring points in this politically correct trend.

Warcraft movie is also not canon.

Terrible human cast, amazing orc cast.
CGI made that movie terrible.
Stormwind armours looked like they were made out of plastic.

Besides, Orgrim Doomhammer is a frostwolf in that movie. He wasn’t, he was a blackrock.

in a world where we have Orcs of every colour, and dragons and fox’s

in my opinion they should just turn every human guard and npc in Storm wind to a different race.
just to prove a point

you cant kick up a fuss just because they are human, it doesnt matter. its a game.
nothing in lore said they had a significance being any type of race.

if it bothers you that they are trying to be more inclusive and open minded. then you are the issue

im sorry to say that, but thats the truth.

it doesn’t matter what we look like. who we are. we are all equal. i was hoping there was some people out there that was more accepting
but it seems we have people still holding onto sentiments from 20 years ago

No one is bothered, just the lazy way they’re doing it.
Also you sound like a racist.

Every time a new colour of orc appears, there is a reason for it! That’s the categorical difference. It’s either another ethnicity, a pact with another demon lord, the refusal to make a pact with a demon lord, etc.

The fact that you can’t tell the difference between this proposal and what they have done with orcs is precisely why we hate this so much. This beautifully captures the essence of the problem, thank you; I couldn’t have done it better myself.

let me correct myself so we dont get race IRL with race ingame… i mean Dragon, dwarf, night elf

as it seem people only have issues when its a black human

savy? see what im saying…

  • crazy how its suddenly quiet … suddenly people dont care a dragon gaurd or Dwarf gaurd … thats fine.

but now ive mentioned changing them to a fantasy character that has no real life connection

your all cool with it

… ill say it again… you are all racist if it bother you what colour a human model is ingame.

Axran, you can just tell you don’t give a crap about lore. I know retail hasn’t been doing that aswell, but god damn it irks me people like you are berating other people for simply asking valid questions and it shows how little to nothing you actually know about the lore.

Why would a night elf, possibly century years hold, become a guard in a medieval human kingdom with an average lifespan of 50 years?

You’re just grasping at straws here to pull.
Just say your focus is just on your ideology.

This is starting to become a cult, a religion.

0 awareness for realism. We all must obey their little utopia.
