so i keep reading that haste is not a particularily desired stat for sub rogues but, i cant understand why. more haste means more auto attacks, means more combo points, means faster cooldown on shadow dance. clearly i’m missing something but, what?
Mastery/versa (raw dmg) and crit (huge burst) are probably just better for sub.
As a new player i am puzzeled myseld tbh.
I guess cause sub is about planning your burst to be overwhelming? So you want fat finishers and go vers/mastery.
And for pve sub has -20% abilities cost talent while shadow dance is active.
sub is mostly about dance. when you have enough energy to utilise all your globals in a dance, haste becomes less important, particularly in pvp.
haste does not reduce your global cooldown as a rogue, and while getting more dances is nice, it won’t give you more symbols to combo it with. it’s also less useful on aoe due to shuriken storm giving a lot of points and relentless strikes giving energy return on finishers.
I recently started playing rogue right now lvl 56. As sub rogue you only can use daggers. Because of the requirement on certain abilities. Now is der rogues with two daggers or with one dagger and 1 other weapon. Ist there something important in this weapon style or just stats?
Sub has absolutely no problem getting combo points in all game modes.
With proper management you should be nearly permanent in dance and that means 1 or 2 shadow strikes between finishers.
In dungeons you get combo points from shuriken storm all the time, and bosses you will have enough uptime on dance.
Since most of our damage comes from finishers and shadow strike we should focus versatility, mastery and crit.
In PvP we mostly burst and either kill someone within a few seconds or vanish to reset. No need for haste there.
Haste in theory sounds nice , and in practice it does offer value however the only thing haste brings is faster energy and more PROC combo points. The issue is you have plenty of combo point generating abilities already, due to talents you have energy generation when you pop dance also.
You will more often have issues with energy if you dont pool it well than combo points. Haste only really fixes you up for mistakes in your plays where as mastery crit or versa gives you larger reward for doing your plays well.
For me haste sims above crit and versa in ST
But that’s only on patchwerk, in dungeons it’s bad, in pvp it’s bad. Good for sustained ST, but not much else, so it’s to be avoided
