Haste/mastery VS mastery/vers

Hi,
new mage here

I have some doubts about main stats of fire mage since last weeks.
I’m checking some mages, and most of them are going mastery/vers forgetting a bit to cap haste.
Is that good? Actually I have 14% haste / 42% mastery / 5% vers

I’m guiding by wildi build, but i’m checking this forums and some of you are going for more haste than vers.

Wildi build -> Wildi-Draenor

Could you help me a bit with this?

Thank you guys.

It’s mostly because of the Mastery weight; it doesn’t matter too much if an item has Vers or Haste (as long as it doesn’t have Crit), you just want as much Mastery as you can get.

There are loads of pieces in BFA that are super Mastery weighted with Vers as the secondary, but comparatively fewer that are super Mastery / Haste secondary so you’ll usually end up with a lot of Mastery/Vers items.

The good Mastery/Haste pieces that do exist are almost exclusively from the weekly M+ chest, which is obviously incredibly unreliable to gear from.

In the specific cases of players like Wildi, DrJay etc. they are pushing super high M+ keys where the defensive benefit of Versatility is incredibly valuable.

So, how many haste do you think we should have as a not high m+ pusher?

Just focus on mastery > ilvl > haste=vers > crit.

Crit isn’t that far behind mind, on my sims 475 crit/mastery boots are better than 470 vers/mastery ones. Crit also gains value on packs.

If in doubt sim it, although bare in mind haste’s value of getting casts off quickly in busy mechanics won’t show up in sims.
