Hate for hates sake or honest feedback?

“You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”

With this quote in my mind a lot lately, everytime I look on the forums all I see is anger and people dying on really odd hills and a lot of the time as I ghost the forums and am reading peoples topics (I guess like blizz do) and am reading a lot of negativity “I hate the new UI” (i kinda do to tbf) then not a hour later ill see the counter argument on how its fantastic.

So my question to you all is… What do you want?

In wow people do a lot of things for different reasons, am not a big fan of pvp but I wouldn’t attack people for doing it. With all the angery people and arguing at the moment I want to try and create a consensus. List your top 5 wow changes and lets see if we can find common ground for once…

Heres mine

  1. Go back to personal loot
  2. Older raids drop more items ( vanilla & bc )
  3. Mage tower weapons can be earned again
  4. Ui changes to garrison, order hall and covenant missions so i can track them all
  5. More Class theme story!

I know you all won’t agree with my list and you know what? thats ok lets keep at least civil

Here is my two copper:

  • The option to toggle the old UI back on (without needing an addon for it)
  • Talent trees as they USED to be, not the lame stuff we have now where we are forced to put a talent point into baseline abilities.
  • No more Choreghast and borrowed power systems of ANY kind. (No garrisons, HoA, etc. etc.)

I agree this on you. The forum, is full of a whine in any direction. I think that people have died too many times, this is a location of cats. If you are going to die on a bad hill, the least you can do is actually die there, and not revive your body and go to another bad hill to die again.

  1. Our view distance back.
  2. Our original characters - the ones we CHOSE - available.
  3. Scaling - both level and ilevel - gone. (OK, can be relative to expansion in Chromie Time.)
  4. Group content for any number, not based on speed either by devs or players.
  5. Lower PC requirements.

I could go on. And on. And on. But these would be pretty easy, and not cross some vocal segment of the playerbase.

5 Thing I want:

No more borrowed power

Keep the new trees

More server merges no sharding or phasing in open world unless required for quests.

World PvP to be relevent

No more new cities, bring people back to the world.

Spaghetti code with technologies added to the game occasionally will make sure that this will never be a thing.

Sounds like you want to play classic (not a dig but all the lists above just describe the ‘old days’)

For me the ability to upgrade gear (like azerite) so over time you can have mythic gear (might take whole season for one piece but fine).

The one ‘old’ thing is like is reduce the gap in ilvl between raid tiers, makes earned gear useless (this should only happen at the end of an expac) 10 ilvls between tiers is fine, makes new raid worth doing but doesn’t make you sub lfr level on day one.

Make mount farming ‘pure’ again. Delete protoform type hunts from the game

Please do.
I agree!

Umm, what?

You need to realize that forum usage has changed alot over the years and not just for wow.
Where people in ages past used forums for actual discussion, nowadays people who use forums (note, forum users are but a portion of the playerbase) tend to come here to vent or complain, with the odd exception here and there.

Its one of my main personal reasons not to come to any for posting frequently, if at all.

Not saying this is a wrong way to use forums perse, just highlighting that the crowd has changed a lot and thus also the way platforms are utilized.

So yes, it appears that there are mostly rants on here, but it is not necessarily a reflection of how everyone feels.

Im. Happy with wow since legion but all of these changes would be awesome. Id love the flaming warglaives on my dh. The loot change tho im still in the see how it goes phases need to run with guild to properly decide

If you are happy busy playing the game there is no point wasting your time on a forum, its where the toxic people go to get attention, bored players express the individual views or just enjoy baiting others.

I don’t think blizz really use any forum content for feedback as its a tiny biased and toxic slice of the community.

The beta and alpha platforms are good feedback as they are controlled with release agreements when you use them. So if you have an idea thats good then its theirs not yours.

I think also the class discords are also good where most of the theory crafters are.

Or you are unable to play the game due to work etc and you want to be involved with the game without having to download and play the game in the middle off an office space

Discord is better, the forums are a particular breed of negativity.

Downloading discord on a work PC seems like something I wouldn’t do either

You all have phones right ?

Yes but It’s eassier to minimalise a window real quick then to hide your phone.
Phone’s are super sus, having forums open on a tiny screen and minimalising isn’t really noticeable

Yeah, I really love what they did in Legion with that. I wish that was one of the staples they’d just keep in the game every xpac.

There’s a bunch of things that should be just part of the game instead of expansion flavors, WoW is pretty much unique in that. Other MMOs have housing, WoW adds garrisons for one xpac… What a waste.

The five I’d like to see are:

  1. Race themed class abilities (More naturalistic/sun themed spell effects for Sunwalkers for example)
  2. Small, optional text lines added based on certain events you participated in or depending on what race you are.
  3. More attention to smaller details in the game (a tank wearing mail had different sound effects when they moved compared to when they were running in plate for example back in WOTLK)
  4. More pants/shirt option for clothies. Wearing robes/dresses all the time gets boring after a while.
  5. More class themed solo challenges for cosmetic/race themed cosmetic rewards (Like what Blood Elf paladins got).
